I’ve only been playing for a couple of days but wanting to have a genuine good team with at least 2-3 of Pokémon I like.

So far I like from steel scizor/mega scizor, ferrothorn, corvinight, heatran, exadrill, skarmory, magnezone, goodra hisui, klinklang, mawile and tinkaton.

For bug I like scizor/mega scizor, volcarona, klevor, buzzwole, ninjask, parsect, vikavolt.

But I’m not really sure how to build a decent team let alone comp worthy.

Well you're in luck. Because it just so happens that the samples for the two types you mentioned contains some of the pokemon that you want that comprise of consistent and viable teams. Have a look at the samples thread and give them a try and get some ideas to how they're built or function in game.
