Resource Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer: NDM Edition

I’ve only been playing for a couple of days but wanting to have a genuine good team with at least 2-3 of Pokémon I like.

So far I like from steel scizor/mega scizor, ferrothorn, corvinight, heatran, exadrill, skarmory, magnezone, goodra hisui, klinklang, mawile and tinkaton.

For bug I like scizor/mega scizor, volcarona, klevor, buzzwole, ninjask, parsect, vikavolt.

But I’m not really sure how to build a decent team let alone comp worthy.

Well you're in luck. Because it just so happens that the samples for the two types you mentioned contains some of the pokemon that you want that comprise of consistent and viable teams. Have a look at the samples thread and give them a try and get some ideas to how they're built or function in game.

Hello where could I find the types rankings compared to each other to know the best types? Like Water being better than Rock etc
There really isnt "any" thats official because its meta dependent and really varies per person.

For me tho, I would rank it like this:

1000027656.png

S tier: Very strong types that will always be good picks and are well rounded. Do note that since its monotype, you will get hard counters. However, the viability of the counters is taken into account too (i.e. sure Ice bones non double Steel flying but how often will you run into Ice?) Shoutout to Dragon, since its technically broken in the sense that all its weaknesses are covered super well (exceptions being M.Lop/M.Gal/MixVal, but thats 2 mons out of the entire meta). Steel is more of a balance type, but hazard stack + great natural defensive profile goes a long way to it being op.

A tier: Types that have some weakness to one of the three top types, but will generally still be good to the rest of the types (Fairy -> Steel (unless you're able to pull off excellent predictions/use Azumarill/Clefable), Water -> Dragon (Kyurem.), Electric -> Dragon (Mega Lati@s + Steel Dragon core is annyoying). Take note that I could be biased, as all these 3 are typically ran offensively, tho if you ask me the type thats "balanced" that could be A is Normal (Pory2/Bliss core is strong), but is held back by being a skill based type rather than actually pummeling opponents

B tier: Still hold up well but have multiple problem mons/types to take note of that makes them a bit shakier than usual compared to A tier. Normal/Poison/Psychic are Balanced types with good defensive walls, but crumble to certain things [Hands/Archaludon/Kommo-o for Normal, Mega Latios/Mega Gallade for Poison, Roaring Moon/Electric teams/Gholdengo for Psychic]. Ground is still a strong weather offense type but suffers from too many things having Ice coverage + Water/M.Zard Fly/Kyurem being strong, Dark has to deal with Lele/Keldeo/Iron Hands/Enamorus, Screens Psychic is a hit or miss.

C tier: Technically viable but is held back by its shaky mu into much more types than B. Funnily all of these but grass are offense types, which crumble if the opponent doesnt die first. Grass is a great cteam into fairy, but gets mauled by the top 3.

D tier: Barely serviceable types that do have good matchups, but are outweighed by how common their counters are. For example, Fire would be amazing but you would likely go against Ground/Water/Dragon teams nearly 50% of the time while not being able to outright win vs less common stuff like Flying/Poison/Normal. Fighting has to deal with Tapu Lele (Fairy/Psychic), Meowscarada (Dark), Enamorus (Flying), and M.Alt (Dragon), outweighing the benefits of being good into Steel/Water/Ground/Normal.

Hope this helped

Like Neko said, type rankings can vary from person to person. To demonstrate this, here is my tier list:

Looks pretty similar to Neko’s, but with a couple differences. Hopefully, comparing and contrasting these two lists can help you understand how people generally view these types.

How does a Steel team deal with mega venusaur? It simply shrugs off anything i chuck at it, and has EQ for hetran
My team for reference: https://pokepast.es/8b0d15afd57164c5
There are numerous ways, but I’ll go over a few here that could help improve your team:

- Dual Wingbeat Mega Scizor puts heavy pressure on both types that Mega Venusaur is on as a whole.

- Bulky Ghostium Gholdengo can boost up and OHKO it with its Z-Move.

- Mega Venusaur can’t hold boots, so it’s susceptible to hazard chip over time. Thus, Skarmory helps by phasing with Whirlwind, maximizing the amount of hazard chip that Venusaur will take.

I hope these tips can help!

Hi
First, please post in English next time :-:
Onto the actual thing
Right now you actually cant put a gyarados @ gyaradosite in a flying team because you'll encounter a builder error (since m.gyar and the birds dont share a type). Because of that, there's no need to force a mega t1. Similarly, Gyar Mega on Dark breaks team must share a type clause since it isnt dark to begin with, even with forcing a mega T1 gives us issues since you can techically use it as a one time pivot vs stinky fighting moves with intimidate and just switch out afterwards. Because of that, its not really a good idea to do this, though feel free to use Gyar on a water team if you do like him
