Nidhogg, you can start off by using Outrage. Nothing quite like a direct approach.
 
Dammit, that was going to be really cool too.
Ok then, use Reflect to blunt the blow of that Outrageous attack. Now after that, he's expecting to keep going, but I don't think so. Disable Outrage, then while he's just sitting around not knowing what to do, use the break in the action to use Calm Mind.

After a slight mix-up with his pokeballs, Athenodoros picks his trusty Dragonair, Nidhogg. Lord Jesseus opts for the cool calculating Kadabra named Tau. Both of these pokemon have seen their fair share of battles, so which one will win the day?

Oh my, looking at Nidhogg I think Athenodoros must have really pissed him off earlier today because he looks like he's about to erupt in fury. Tau is not perturbed in the slightest and effortlessly puts up a psychic barrier to Reflect the Dragonair's attack. Just in time too - the fury could be contained no longer, but it looks like the barrier took a significant portion of the Outrage. Not wanting to feel that again, Tau probes Nidhogg's mind and finds out where the memory for knowing how to use Outrage is being stored. He immediately uses his psychic powers to disrupt that part of the brain and Disable the move. Still mad, Nidhogg tries to channel that energy into another attack, but forgets just how to do so and instead just thrashes about randomly, not even close to hitting his opponent. He continues this fruitless means of venting his rage while Tau takes the less angry path and relaxes himself, focusing on giving himself a Calm Mind.

Some Wingull can be seen flying overhead, but when they see the battle, they immediately turn around and fly the other way.

Nidhogg, with his movepool, I think we should take the time to just cool down and mess with him a bit while he attacks. Start off with a Thunder Wave so that we might get some hax going, and then follow it up with a Haze, using the speed drop to do it before he attacks. Finally, use Dragon Pulse to make sure that he does take some damage this round.

Now that Nidhogg has calmed down a bit, he can prepare his next move. But before he's even ready to fire it off, Tau throws him about using his Psychic powers. Not only are they really powerful, but they have affected Nidhogg's mind, reducing his resistance to special attacks. However, Nidhogg's attack is ready and he zaps Tau with a Thunder Wave, paralysing the Kadabra. But it looks like Tau had planned for this and, by connecting his mind with Nidhogg's for one instant, he forces the Dragonair to share his pain. Nidhogg has also been paralysed!

Tau summons dark energies and they coalesce into a Shadow Ball. He flings the ball straight into Nidhogg, who thinks that his opponent needs to be taken down a peg or two. He breathes out a black Haze that somehow relaxes his own mind and unnerves Tau, which is strange because the cloud has made it considerably harder for Nidhogg to hit with his attacks but Tau's psychic powers are much less sight-dependent.

As the round draws to a close, both pokemon prepare their next moves. It looks like they're both going to be really powerful ... but what's this? Neither of them seems to be able to move! Wow, talk about an anti-climax. Suddenly, however, Nidhogg feels as limber as ever and he is cured of his ailment. Meanwhile, the barrier that Tau set up earlier has disappeared.

Nidhogg, start off by letting off a Dragon Pulse. It should carry through the dense Haze to hit Tau wherever he is, and hopefully we might get some hax with paralysis. Then, use Outrage. If it gets disabled and you can't continue, however, just use Dragon Pulse again.

Now that Nidhogg has a speed advantage, he gives out a war cry that then takes the form of a Dragon Pulse. The shockwave of energy passes through the thick black cloud and even clears it up quite a bit, but unfortunately Nidhogg was aiming to the left and Tau was to the right. The Kadabra shows the faintest hint of a smile as he sets up another barrier to Reflect incoming attacks. Now Nidhogg is angry at missing with his earlier attack and channels his energy into an Outrage while Tau is just trying to give himself a Calm Mind. The thinner cloud of Haze makes it easier for Nidhogg to find his target and he scores two direct hits. Both pokemon are now starting to show signs of exhaustion.

As Nidhogg finishes raging once more, slamming into Tau with the last hit of his Outrage, it looks like he might finally be calm again. Tau is trying to use his powers once more to disrupt Nidhogg, but somehow he cannot move a muscle! Now it looks like Nidhogg is mad at his opponent for not even trying to attack, but at the same time he is looking tired and slightly confused. He looks like he's about to breathe something on the Kadabra, but instead he bites his own body! That can't be good for him, but it looks like he's regaining his senses and might be able to pull off a proper attack this time. Meanwhile, Tau is able to focus and, unperturbed by paralysis, creates two Shadow Balls and sends them flying into Nidhogg's side. Nidhogg appears to have found another way of venting his frustration: breathing blue fire on the Kadabra. This is truly a Dragon Rage for no other being could make such curious flames when angered. In fact, it looks like those flames have ignited the dark cloud that has been lingering in the arena. Indeed, the cloud is disappearing right before our eyes! This should make it easier for the pokemon to hit each other, but I'm not sure what they're going to use now that they're looking really worn out.

Nidhogg finishes venting his rage on Tau. In fact, that last Outrage blow looks like it smashed the barrier protecting the Kadabra [11 damage, 7 energy]. That took a lot out of Nidhogg and he is now so exhausted that he looks intensely confused. Tau tries to focus on erasing any memory of that last attack, but finds himself unable to act again! Being paralysed is no fun. Again, it looks like the Dragonair is trying to unleash more of his rage on Tau, but this Outrage isn't being protected against [17 damage, 11 energy]. The Kadabra tries to disrupt this attack with his Psychic powers [17 damage, 6 energy] but not even that can stop Nidhogg now. He lands one more blow with Outrage and this time Tau falls to the floor and doesn't get up [16 damage, 18 energy].

But what's this? Nidhogg also falls to the floor and doesn't get up! That last attack must have used up the last of his energy. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a tie!

Well, it means my precious first Pokemon doesn't die. So it's sort of a point of pride. You know how they always say in the games that to be good you have to care for your Pokemon ;) gg though. It was a great match.

EDIT: Oh okay. That's weird.
 
I checked with some more experienced refs and going to 0 energy or below means you faint. Even Struggle costs energy.
