[OVERVIEW]

- Although Aurumoth has access to Tail Glow and wide special coverage, it is often outperformed by Manaphy, who doesn't suffer from a Stealth Rock weakness, crucially outspeeds Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Jumbao, and doesn't struggle against Tornadus-T.
- However, Aurumoth has access to enough coverage to run an effective Dragon Dance set that can handily beat Toxapex, unless Mega Charizard X.
- If kept healthy, it can act as a check to Mega Medicham and Kartana, which can be useful for more offensive teams.
- However, its Stealth Rock weakness still hinders it, and it's generally outclassed as a physical sweeper by Shell Smash Necturna.

Moves
========

- Close Combat nails Steel-types like Heatran, Ferrothorn, Equilibra, and Kartana that could otherwise stomach Megahorn and Zen Headbutt.

Set Details
========

- 208 Speed EVs and a Jolly nature allow Aurumoth to outspeed Excadrill, minimizing the chance that Excadrill can stop Aurumoth’s sweep. It also prevents Modest Manaphy from setting up too easily and outspeeds bulky Choice Scarf Landorus-T and bulky Choice Scarf Krookodile.
- Investing 84 Defense EVs allows Aurumoth to survive any hit from Choice Band Kartana, or any non-Knock Off hit from +1 Choice Band Kartana, so Aurumoth set up against or revenge kill it.
- The remaining EVs are placed in Attack give Aurumoth the best chance to KO Toxapex with Zen Headbutt.
- Psychium Z is chosen so that Aurumoth can break past bulky Tornadus-T with Shattered Psyche.
- Finally, No Guard ensures Megahorn and Zen Headbutt won’t miss.

Other Options
=============

- A Tail Glow set with Psyshock, Focus Blast, and Thunder with Fightinium Z can break past almost any defensive core when played correctly. However, Aurumoth struggles to set up consistently due to its lack of recovery and Stealth Rock weakness, and it can be revenge killed pretty easily. Furthermore, it has to land All-Out Pummeling to beat Bulletproof Equilibra, which otherwise walls this set and can easily bait the Z-move with Protect or switching out. Other coverage moves like Hydro Pump or Overheat with other Z-Crystals can circumvent these issues, but the coverage tends to overlap with these moves.
