Just getting back into pokes, and I made this team here. I'm here for some ratings, I've played with this team online and I win about 75% of my games, but I've had some fluke wins, and some dumb losses. Hopefully you guys can help me perfect this team.
First Glance
Poseidon (Swampert) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Beam
- Roar
Standard lead set for Swampert. Usually just start off setting up rocks, unless I see something posing a threat. There I'll either switch or roar. Real standard. I've always liked Swampert leads because instead of just exploding away in the first three or so moves, I can save him for later and tighter situations and use roar to help me against pokes who happen to have a DD up or something like the such. Swampert helps me a lot too with some type resistance with some of my sweepers.
Demon (Azelf) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 40 Atk / 216 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psychic
- Explosion
- Grass Knot
- Flamethrower
Special life orb set. This comes in handy late/mid game when a lot of their pokes aren't at full health. I like Explosion for special set-ups because I'll switch into Azelf and explode, and really no harm to me. 216 speed to outrun sub-split Gengars and other threats. Pretty standard. Azelf puts himself on the team because I think he is a great sweeper. Most people use him as a lead and I find that shameful. Azelfs has great potential for a sweeper. I usually send in my Scizor and leave some dents in pokes, and say one of mine die, I'll send in Azelf against a predicted move I'll know he'll survive or when a poke dies against a poke I know will switch, and I can leave dents in teams, and I'll usually end up leaving with an explosion. Azelf helps me take out Skarmory or some physical walls that attempt to ruin my Scizor's and T-tar's sweeping plans.
EasyBakeOven (Rotom-H) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Discharge
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Ball
- Overheat
Defensive Rotom. I like this set because I'll switch into this against Heatrans, Scizors, etc and either try for the Discharge paralysis, or will-o-wisp physical attackers. Real standard. Always loved this guy, but always hated him as well. This guy can take hits like a beast and can deal some real good damage to some of their sweepers. I may switch him in against a Heatran or switch him in if Swampert dies almost immediately, and try to paralyze some of his sweepers with discharge or burn some of his physical attackers.
ChompChomp (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
Standard Choice Band Scizor. This thing can pack a punch. Switch in and use U-turn for some damage and see what they switch in or stay in for the Technician STAB CB Bullet Punch. I'm thinking of switching him but I don't know what too. I'm thinking of switching him for reasons of I need a cleric and a spinner but this guy can deal damage into teams early. I usually will send him out if I cripple a sweeper or do something that would usually make them switch (bringing him in on double switch) and try to leave early gaps into the opposing teams pokes hp. This helps real well late in games when T-tar and Azelf come into play.
Tyrant (Tyranitar) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
Standard Choice Scarf Tyranitar. This is my main sweeper along with Scizor. I usually switch this in after KO's and catch a few people off-guard who think it may be a Choice Band or Dragon Dance Tyranitar, and they don't expect the scarf. Mainly use Stone Edge for STAB and I'll use STAB Pursuits when I predict switches. Did I also mention I love this guy? He's one of my favorite pokes and I built this team somewhat around him. He can come through late in games and can rip through some pokes mid-game and switch out and tear the rest late game.
NurseJoy (Blissey) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 148 HP / 252 Def / 108 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Seismic Toss
- Softboiled
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave
Standard T-Wave S-Toss Blissey. This thing helps a lot with Special sweepers and because of the defense EV's can help me with taking some physical type move hits. Blissey may be one of the most hated pokes but she really helps this team because Starmie, Heatran, and some other opposing special pokes pose a huge threat towards my Tyranitar and my Scizor. She has helped me some many times late in games where I could have T-Tar, Azelf, and Scizor still alive because she took so many hits as well as she can cripple some of their sweepers and she can get a KO every once in awhile which is always a benefit.
Strategy
I think the strategy I have behind this team is that I want them to weaken the opposing pokemon, and then late to mid-game have an outbreak of rage with T-Tar, Azelf, or Scizor and just weaken their team in gaps through out the match. I mainly try to keep Rotom-H and Blissey alive, and use Swampert mainly as my death fodders so I can keep my sweepers alive as well as pokes that can take hits for them in tight scenarios.
Team Needs:
~ Cleric
~ Rapid Spinner
Please help me with my team, any critique or rates would really be appreciated. As I mentioned before I just got back into the metagame so all the tips I can get will help me out.
