Let's say you wanted to reform society in some way.

Just hypothetically, imagine this reform destroyed society as we know it. Inflation jumps to 15,000,000%, every business goes under, grocery stores are empty, you're sent to jail, your long-lost twin framed you, they have a godawful haircut, and your home is demolished to build a government center for especially bad PSAs.

Clearly, in this case, your reform would be a terrible idea. Therefore, we shouldn't pursue it.
