credit to TheMantyke for the initial list

This guide is to be used to see possible moves a Pokemon may have based on the Poke Ball that they come out of. Sometimes this is very important for competitive players in-game as it can reveal certain moves they may or may not have.

As a general note:

-All pokemon with egg moves and native to gen 3-5 must have a pokeball
-All pokemon from gen 6 can have egg moves and whatever pokeballs, but lack previous gen TMs and tutor attacks
-Pokemon will be listed in the lowest form they get their moves, and level will be provided in the event of LC compatible
-Anything bolded is relevant to simulator play, by default we will assume that the simulator always chooses the best possible option (you won't give away information you don't have to)
- Pokemon with Hidden Abilities cannot legally be inside Safari Balls, Sport Balls, or the Apricorn Balls
-Anything with event moves of course cannot have egg moves
-As a technical rule, event Pokemon cannot be nicknamed. The only exception would be if someone somehow had the same Trainer and Secret ID.

A Poke Ball
designates that the move is not relevant to simulator play
A Master Ball
designates that the move is relevant to simulator play

Things you're missing: the other two event moves on the legendary beasts (I know of Howl / Crush Claw Entei but not the others atm), Spatial Rend / Roar Of Time Darkrai (Cherish Ball), and some starter events (Aromatherapy Snivy [Cherish Ball], certain gen 1 starter events).

That's all I can think of atm

Wasn't really the most thorough list when I created it, just a few things I wrote up one day after seeing discussions about Pokeball legality around. I'll make some extra notes here which you can implement at your leisure (instead of me editting it in myself and overriding an edit you might be making).

Lugia
A Lugia in a Dream Ball will always have Multiscale and lacks Gen 3 & 4 exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks
A Lugia in any other Pokeball will always have Pressure and may have Gen 3 & 4 exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks

Ho-Oh
A Ho-Oh in a Dream Ball will always have Regenerator and lacks Gen 3 & 4 exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks
A Ho-Oh in any other Pokeball will always have Pressure and may have Gen 3 & 4 exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks

Darkrai
A Darkrai in a Cherish Ball may have either Roar of Time and Spacial Rend as well as 4th and 5th gen exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks, or Phantom Force and lack Gen 4 and 5 exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks

Dialga
A Dialga in a Dream Ball has the ability Telepathy and lacks Gen 4 exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks
A Dialga in any other Pokeball has the ability Pressure and may have Gen 4 exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks

Palkia
A Palkia in a Dream Ball has the ability Telepathy and lacks Gen 4 exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks
A Palkia in any other Pokeball has the ability Pressure and may have Gen 4 exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks

Giratina-A
A Giratina in a Dream Ball has the ability Telepathy and lacks Gen 4 exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks
A Giratina in any other Pokeball has the ability Pressure and may have Gen 4 exclusive TMs, HMs, and Tutor Attacks

Victini
A Victini in a Cherish Ball can have V-Create and can have either Fusion Bolt and Fusion Flare or Bolt Strike, Blue Fire, and Glaciate.
A Victini in any other Pokeball lacks V-Create, Fusion Flare, Fusion Bolt, Blue Fire, Bolt Strike, and Glaciate
Are you sure you didn't mean Blue Flare?

It's mostly obvious, but Apricorn balls (Level/Lure/Moon/Friend/Love/Heavy/Fast) also fall under the same category as Dusk/Quick/Heal (access to gen 4 moves but missing gen 3 exclusive TMs/tutors). Aside from all catchable HG/SS Pokemon, it also applies to all the legendaries on this list except for the DPP cover trio, as everything else was obtainable in gen 3 in some form.

-All pokemon with egg moves and native to gen 3-5 must have a pokeball
This doesn't make sense because of how females pass on their pokeball now. For example I've bred many Chansey with seismic toss, aromatherapy and counter in love balls (HG/SS exclusive)

Wait, does 'native' to those gens mean they were specifically caught/hatched there? Because that makes sense. I just read it as 'only found' there and thus needs transferring... Whoops

Doubt this will affect anything but what ball do the Sinjoh Ruins Palkia / Dialga / Giratina-O have?

Ba-bump.

I've done some editing and removed some department of redundancy department sections, added a few things.

Perhaps I should add the colo/XD moves next? I feel those are noteworthy enough, although this may get extra ridiculous soon idk someone give me feedback on this.

Just to clarify on Jirachi, there is also a Jirachi event that has Draco Meteor and access to Gen 4+ tutors. Then there's a Gen 5 version with just Draco Meteor, then another Gen 5 one with Draco Meteor/Meteor Mash/Follow Me.

Only taking a quick glance at this because busy.

A Tyranitar in a Dream Ball with Unnerve can have Seismic Toss, and thus would also be Serious natured.

A Metagross in a Dream Ball can have Double Edge, must be Lax or Docile natured, must have the Light Metal ability.

A Gothorita in a Dream Ball with Shadow Tag may have Imprison, and must be Timid natured. Must also be Japanese.
These were all PGL events, there were no nature restrictions, but Tyranitar/Gothorita were locked to a Male gender.
They could also be caught in any other ball available in B/W/2, so if you wanted to give away as little info as you could you would do Pokeball for all 3. http://www.serebii.net/black2white2/globallinkpokemon.shtml

A Zoroark in a Cherish Ball may have Snarl.
Snarl was eventually released as a TM in B2/W2, meaning any Zoroark (or anything else that can learn it via TM) can have it.
Also, Cherish Ball Zoroark was locked Male and Quirky natured, and could pass Snarl to Zorua when breeding, making it competitively useless when it was released too. http://www.serebii.net/events/dex/571.shtml

Thanks Dark Ray, was not aware that BW2 had the ability to not use Dream Balls.

I think I shall add some of the Colo/XD important ones.

You're forgetting the Gen 1 egs starters events:
-Bulbasaur had Lock, False Swipe, Frenzy Plant and Weather Ball.
-Charmander had Lock, False Swipe, Blast Burn, and Acrobatics.
-Squirtle had Lock, False Swipe, Hydrocannon, and Follow Me.

All of then must be Korean or Japanese and have their normal ability (Overgrow, Blaze, and Torrent iirc). Gender, nature or shinyness don't matter. They must have 31 IVs on Defense for Bulbasaur, Speed for Charmander, and HP for Squirtle. Other IVs don't matter. They must be on a Poke Ball.
