MAIN IDEA
I really wanted to use weavile… that’s it.. just weavile. It just piqued my interest.

THE TEAM

:sv/weavile:
MY HEART (Weavile) @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Triple Axel
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Pursuit

I thought that I might as well start off with the main star of the squad! Weavile weavile weavile, oh dear weavile. I just wanted to run a standard band set because i don’t believe weavile has the longevity to be able to set up a swords dance in most games in this tier. Nothing special here. I am thinking of replacing Triple A with Icicle Crash instead, because i’ve lost 2 games because of only being able to land 1axel hit. I may also replace pursuit with low kick to snipe :kingambit: as pursuit isn’t that useful in practice. Ice shard and knock are staying, they kinda HAVE to stay.

:sv/alomomola:
MY LUNGS (Alomomola) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 8 HP / 252 Def / 248 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Flip Turn
- Toxic
- Wish
- Protect

“When there’s a shitmon, there’s a mola”, that’s my motto. Alomomola is like the best help any shitmon can use, and i love building with shitmons. Weavile isn’t a shitmon, but he still greatly values the support from mola over here. :weavile: can come off as pretty weak to :urshifu-rapid-strike: (especially with my set that has no coverage), so phys. def mola saves the day. :Corviknight: can be a nuisance to deal with for :weavile: so Mola can serve as a safe switch that can pivot the next turn (:gholdengo: is also a safe switch but it just can’t pivot). Toxic is always useful. I considered going AV as it can also soft-check smth like a specs :iron valiant: but that’s about it.

:sv/terapagos-terastal:
MY SHOULDERS (Terapagos-Terastal) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Tera Shell
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Tera Starstorm
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
:terapagos-terastal: felt like a great addition due it’s ability to deal with sweepers and remove hazards. Rapid spin can destroy those pesky rocks that wear down Weavile. It’s just a super solid all rounder mon and i feel like it would still be great even if :weavile: was replaced with an actually good pokémon. It can deal with the likes of :choice scarf: :landorus-therian:, :moltres: and :ferrothorn:, all mons which can kinda make weavile’s life miserable. Meanwhile as always, it can stop the sweeps of mons like :dragonite: or :garchomp: in case weavile’s dead or if ice shard doesn’t kill.

:sv/charizard-mega-y:
MY KNEES (Charizard-Mega-Y) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Weather Ball
- Roost
- Solar Beam
- Scorching Sands
Zard-y just felt right. It could serve as a special attacking nuke to compliment weavile’s physical prowess, while also dealing with mons like :ferrothorn:, :gholdengo: , non AV :alomomola:, :iron treads:, etc. It’s just a solid mon that just fits to work in this team. :charizard-mega-y: and :weavile: both mutually benefit from :terapagos-terastal:’s ability to remove rocks. Weavile in turn deals with mons like :raging bolt: or :latios-mega: for zard. This guy just felt like a perfect match with weavile to achieve symbiosis.

:sv/gholdengo:
MY WALLET (Gholdengo) @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Good as Gold
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 84 SpD / 60 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hex
- Focus Blast
- Thunder Wave
- Recover
:Gholdengo: just felt right to add as well, similarly to zard, Weavile and ghold have a pretty good relationship with each other. I picked a Z-hex set because i felt like the team was pretty weak to :ogerpon-wellspring: with my only real countermeasure being :terapagos-terastal:. The thing about pagos is that if it’s my only response to a sweeper, i will be offensively overwhelmed when against HO. Sure, Weavile has ice shard priority, but what if the sweeper is something like an :urshifu-rapid-strike:? So i chose bulky ghold to be able to deal with HO a bit better, while it can also check most shitmons/gimmicks which i may have forgotten while building.

:sv/gliscor:

not my body part (Gliscor) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 36 Def / 228 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Spikes
- Protect

Oh you thought I was gonna color gliscor’s text? oh no i won’t, gliscor doesn’t deserve colored text, this mf is a war criminal. That’s also why it’s the only one which doesn’t nece fit the naming theme i chose to run with for this team. Gliscor doesn’t deserve pokémon rights (as gliscor isn’t human, it can’t really use human rights).

Anyways yk the deal. best mon in the tier, deals provides spikes as hazards, can spread toxic, can stall out and KO mons like :raging bolt: or :tapu koko:, can make the opponent ragequit because it’s a war criminal, ykyk, there isn’t anything more i can say other than that i should be a decent pick.

ANYWAYS
now that the team rundown is over, feel free to criticize it and help improve it! thanks for reading folks

Looks very solid, have some nitpicks though:

- No stealth rock, got spikes on gliscor but stealth rock can better help make progress against some very threatening mons against your team such as Mega Latios.
- Quite a poor MU against Mega Charizard Y, pretty much requires you trading with your own Charizard which in itself is very risky.
- Shaky MU into Pokemon such as Raging Bolt, threatens lots of your Pokemon in Alomomola, Mega Charizard Y and one draco meteor against Gliscor and suddenly Raging Bolt becomes way scarier.

a change I could suggest is :terapagos: -> :great-tusk:

:sv/great-tusk:
Great Tusk @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Headlong Rush
- Head Smash

- This not only synergises well with Mega Charizard Y but it also gives you a Pokemon with Stealth Rock as well as improves your MU into Mega Charizard Y with Head Smash and Raging Bolt with its ground typing. Booster speed gives you added speed control where besides having Weavile the speed control was super shaky.

Set Changes:

:alomomola: - Would personally make this :rocky-helmet: this would gives you a contact punisher to chip Pokemon that have U-turn making pivot spam less irritating as well as Ceaseless Edge from Samurott-Hisui . Also have decent removal so this is fine as well.

ty for reaching out!

i have tested this new version of the team and uhhhhh it’s not great, but to be fair it seems like this new version struggles against Banded Zama and SubSpam, guess what ladder chose to magically begin to use in literally every game i got? subspam!

Tbf, the only substitute user that really sucks to face off against is zama, i swapped out triple axel for icicle crash the last couple of games so that made substitute impossibly stupid to deal with

my MU luck on this ladder needs to studied vro ✌️
