Okay so... seeing how tiering policies work and being in the discord (name is s1ren_kitsune there), something I've noticed about how the policies of DPP vs other generations go is weird in my eyes that's how bans are done. For example, in SV, Last Respects was seen as problematic but since only 1 Pokémon learned the move, Houndstone, they banned it but left the possibility to unbanning it and banning Last Respects if another mon ever learned it and one did, Basculegion. Even banning only Last Respects from its toolkit, it would be too much still, so they banned the move and banned Basculegion to Ubers, letting Houndstone come back to OU, where it was fine. Now compare this to DPP, where they don't even ban 1 move (like DPunch was agreed to be the problem with Machamp), they just ban the Pokémon outright. This feels concerning to me because Jirachi is agreed to be the glue that holds DPP OU together but it's Paraflinching sets are too much. Here, it would be obvious to just ban Jirachi from using flinching moves. It still holds the metagame together and players can even feel free to actually experiment with its other moves, like drain punch sets and such. I feel like the policy "ban the mons, never the toolkits" is very contradictory considering Latias was allowed back but had to have its own item banned in order to do it. If it's just one or 2 moves that make the Pokémon too much and not the whole thing, just ban it from using said move, like Jirachi using flinching moves. You could also ban certain things like allow Jirachi to run flinching moves but not Paralyzing moves or vice versa.
But these are my thoughts on the matter, idk what all of you guys thoughts are on it.
