NOC Bard's College Mafia - Day Three

general rules:
-only talk in the thread
-don't unlike posts, and don't like posts if you're dead or not in the game
-don't talk in the thread if you're dead or not in the game
-don't talk in the thread if it's night
-if you're dead you get one bah post. nothing else
-you can talk in twilight until the role pm is revealed
-don't talk to other players outside of the thread unless you're specifically informed you can do so
-each day will last 72 hours. each night will last 24. EVERYONE HAS AN ACTION GET THEM IN EACH TIME
-no quoting role pms

setup rules:
-there is town and there is mafia. there are no other factions
-mafia has an assigned faction kill, and has 24/7 chat (both a smogon conversation and a discord will be created, they can talk in whichever)
-EVERYONE IS CONFIRMED TO BE A JACK OF ALL TRADES. a jack of all trades has 2 to 5 one use abilities, only one of which can be used each night. there are NO additional abilities beyond the abilities of the jacks of all trades
-there is no role indicative flavor
-there is a nonzero number of roles that create ITEMS in this game. you may, during the night, pass an item to another player. if your actions are not prevented, that player will receive the item
-this game uses natural action resolution. if you don't know what that is, just think "hey what would fucking make sense" and that's about right
-item use/passing is not limited in any way and does not interfere with use of joat abilities
-any abilities that are based on what items a player has are based on what items they have at the end of the day(so a thief doesn't steal items passed the same round, and an item cop would see items stolen / retained / created for / passed to but not items passed away)
-there may have been things i forgotten, ask itt BEFORE THE GAME STARTS
-roles that create items and give them to players are treating as passing the item for all intents and purposes
-when a player dies, which abilities of theirs are used or unused will be revealed

-town win condition is "all mafia are dead or nothing can prevent this"
-scum win condition is "all town are dead or nothing can prevent this"

-no flavor claiming

-if something sounds like it should probably be cheating, don't do it. or at least ask if it is first.

Btw I am advocating for this game to not be like the previous 8 million nocs.

If someone is actively participating D1 don't actually Lynch them unless there's a compelling reason to believe they're scum, push hard as fuck on inactives first

D1 "associations" are hilariously overrated and having people with nothing you can hold against them make it late into the game just makes our job way more difficult than it should be

Also given confirmed town vs mafia it's almost guaranteed to be 5 mafia (15 town, 5 mafia, 33% ratio lines up perfectly with average strength mafia). Add or subtract one for weak/strong mafia respectively

I'm expecting there's a chance that there's only four mafia because there's a good chance theyre very high powered given the setup with confirmed no vanillas, but considering the expected power of town I'm expecting five high power mafias for balance considerations

Most likely mafia have some combination of strong man/ninja/ascetic roles sprinkled within their roles but given the one shot nature unlikely they'll use them until later in game so we're pretty safe to trust potential investigates for the first few days. Later days be wary of your actions failing.

Most likely not a godfather, wouldn't make much sense with the set up of JOATs
 
Hm, would an early claiming of # of abilities be favorable to town? It may help any inspects uncover lies later on or root scum to their full claims when it comes time
 
I have to agree with Aura Guardian, claiming, even in something as simple as number of abilities so soon seems like a bad idea. If anyone has doctor/watcher abilities, I think saving them for late game is a better strategy, if we don't give away any information, mafia should have very slim chances of killing a important role anyways. Also:

No particular reason, just trying to lynch somebody at random.
 
After pushing/fishing, really liking Ags opening, mxmts I'm a little wary of for the copy cat, but they at least back it up with reasoning so also likeing it, but to a lesser degree
 
I don't think the number of abilities would imply the strength of the role, but claiming the number isn't very helpful as town at the start of the game since it doesn't yield useful information.
