Basculin [QC 1/3]

Are you still working on this Bug Catcher Will ? You have yet to implement Anty's mixed set. I agree with a mixed set being added, less sure about removing Band (though I can be persuaded). You have 48 hours to implement, or I will reassign.

Sorry, I got sidetracked over the holidays (when Anty posted the mixed set) and got back on a few days ago. I am still working on this.

I just replaced the Choice Band with the Life Orb and put CB in other options. After having Basculin on my team for a while and trying him out, being locked into a move really sucks especially when they send something that can tank a Waterfall and I'm forced to switch...especially since my prediction abilities is sub-par. So LO is superior. Thanks for the reminder.

Overview
########
Remove the last line, or mention a poke like pelipper

RED PHISH BLUE PHISH (Mixed Attacker)
########
Remove hasty, as the only pokes that will try to outpace and revenge kill are physical (ninetales dies to a jet, kadabra hates sash break, scarf haunter hates a jet, rachu and scarf rotom beat u either way), and also lets you take priorities better

Moves
========
Mention zen headbut before superpower, as it is listed first
Add that superpower hits costa harder

Usage Tips
========
Mention ice beaming tangela on the switch
Remove mantine
I dont think you need to mention all the specific status, twave and willo are the main things that cripple it

Team Options
========
Remove garbo and serperior
Include specific ko's hazards let basc get
Mention electric types that can beat pelipper
Add setup sweepers that appreciate basc's wallbreaking

Other Options
########
Remove mold breaker, it really isnt worth it

Checks & Counters
########
**Water-Types**: Mention prinplup with the two polis, and add an extra section for pelipper (aka the perfect counter). Also remove mantine and the bit that says 'locked'

**Priority**: Remove this, as basc doesnt care for most priority; it outspeeds yena and kecleon so can avoid their sucker punch with a jet, and takes nothing from ice shard

**Faster Pokémon** Remove serp

**Status** Remove locked into, and mention examples of pokes that will status it

I think i spotted every nu mon, but still check over if their are more
Bug Catcher Will

Bug Catcher Will please implement Anty's check.

My B. Fixed most of the things.

The one problem I'm facing is the hazards in Team Options. Anty said to mention specific KO's that Basculin can get due to hazards. I fiddled around with some calcs but I have yet to find a specific mon Basculin can KO that he normally couldn't without SR. Should I just remove that from Team Options if I can't find a Pacific example?

4 SpA Life Orb Basculin Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Gourgeist-Super: 177-211 (47.3 - 56.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Life Orb Basculin Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Poliwrath: 190-224 (49.4 - 58.3%) -- 96.9% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Life Orb Adaptability Basculin Aqua Jet vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Ninetales: 234-276 (81.5 - 96.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

252 Atk Life Orb Adaptability Basculin Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 240 Def Eviolite Misdreavus: 133-156 (41 - 48.1%) -- 60.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Use any few of those

I'll let Anty finish his check, but please make Aqua Jet and Waterfall swap places since generally more important moves go first

QC thoughts on shifting Superpower to Moves? Poliwrath and Throh are way more common than Avalugg and they are targets you'd prefer to break

Now that you mention it, Superpower is only a guaranteed 3HKO to defensive Avalugg if rocks are up, which can just be healed off with Recover. Plus Poliwrath seem more like a threat to Basculin. So maybe I should just nix Superpower altogether and just give a shout out in OO...

Thoughts?

252 Atk Choice Band Basculin Superpower vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Avalugg: 180-214 (45.8 - 54.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
-1 252 Atk Choice Band Basculin Superpower vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Avalugg: 122-144 (31 - 36.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Does enough to be mentioned in moves, as it also hits normal pokes, ohkos pawniard, etc. Just de slash

Ok. I'll just leave the moves section how it was.

Overview
########
- Note that its Speed beat outs notable targets such as Mr. Mime and Leafeon.
- You don't need to list its decent Attack, unless you are talking in context with the boost from Adaptablity making its Water moves very strong
- In summary, the entire Overview basically states that Basculin has a strong Aqua Jet to revenge kill stuff with, and is frail. There's got to be more than that.
- What about the Pokemon it keeps in check in particular? A powerful Aqua Jet is fine and dandy but does it actually revenge kill something particularly well? I'm sure you can think of a few (I already have a couple in mind)
- It is also a wallbreaker
- It would help to explain what keeps Basculin in check and stops it from being one of the top Pokemon in the tier.

Moves
========
- Order this based on set please

Usage Tips
========
- How to get a clean switch in?
- The last warning would be more helpful if you actually note what Pokemon to watch out for

Team Options
========
- What about Pokemon that appreciate its wallbreaking power? Most Electric-tyes appreciate Basculin getting rid of Tangela, and an assortment of Pokemon would love Poliwrath taking a Zen Headbutt or 2.

Bug Catcher Will are you still working on this? You have 48 hours to implement my changes or I'll reassign (you haven't been on for almost a month, so the time limit is not gonna change even if you don't see this, sorry).
