Summoned back unexpectedly, Brains reappears in the Colosseum. Angry that he was unable to take a long enough break, Brain slams into Seedstrike with a powerful Zen Headbutt. It looks like Seedstrike was able to use his Substitute to block the attack, as he lets out another intimidating Roar. This enrages C$FP, as his Pokemon continue to be shuffled around, taking damage from all the entry hazards that Brandon has had his team set up. Brains continues the assault with a Confusion attack, once again hitting the Substitute. However, the Substitute is unable to protect Seedstrike anymore, as it shatters from the force of the attack. Without the protection, Seedstrike decides to heal himself with Synthesis, letting him take the incoming Zen Headbutt. To conserve energy, Seedstrike opts to Chill while Brain is sent back to his Pokeball and Big Poe the Kitsunoh makes his first appearance in the battle.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it," Brandon said while smiling. "Seedstrike, your time is almost up, but Roar one last time! If you're still up after that then Earthquake till you go down!"
Finally getting a chance to fight, Big Poe's Fangs become covered in Ice, and he chomps down on Seedstrike. Only to enrage his opponent more, Brandon orders Seedstrike to Roar once again. Finally having enough of this, Big Poe sneaks into the Shadows before Striking Seedstrike from behind, lowering his Defense. Seedstrike retaliates by creating a powerful Earthquake, knocking Big Poe to the ground. Big Poe quickly recovers before attacking with one last Ice Fang, knocking Seedstrike out before beign sent back to his Pokeball. Brains then makes another appearance in our battle.
Brandon smiled as he recalled Seedstrike, thanking him for putting him in a position to win. But he wasn't done yet. "Alright, let's go Skystrike! Start off with a Whirlwind, then Fly! Finish off with a Protect!"
"Kitsunoh's weak enough that if we get rid of it now when it comes back in it's a goner! Start with a 25 HP Substitute, then Whirlwind! Finish off with a Protect! If he uses Perish Song at any time then replace your last action with a chill instead!"
Summary: Substitute (25 HP) -> Whirlwind -> Protect If he uses Perish Song any action use chill last action
Reappearing in the battle, Big Poe doesn't seem to care about his new opponent as he lets out a loud Yawn. This makes Skystrike drowsy, but he is alert enough to set up a Substitute that will be able to absorb a lot of damage for him. Big Poe decides to bypass the Sub with a Perish Song, putting a timer on his and Skystrike's battle. Continuing to rack up even more hazard damage, Skystrike uses Whirlwind once again. Trying to get one last hit in, Big Poe attacks with a Meteor Mash, but Skystrike is able to hide behind his Substitute as it takes the attack. Safely behind the Sub, Skystrike decide to Chill and regain some of his lost energy.
"Well, shame to waste that Substitute but between Yawn and Perish Song switching is our best option, come back Skystrike!" Skystrike returned to its Pokeball, and Brandon grabbed a new one. "Alright, let's go Flamestrike!" The Magmortar hit the field, staring down the Steelix while Brandon waited for C$FP to choose whether or not he wanted to switch as well.
"Alright then Flamestrike, let's go with Flame Body as your ability! Start with a Will-O-Wisp to start getting some residual damage, then go on the offensive with a Fire Blast! Finish off by setting up a Sunny Day to boost your power for next round! If he uses Sandstorm action 3 to wipe out your Sun, then Taunt him!"
Summary: Will-O-Wisp -> Fire Blast -> Sunny Day Replace Sunny Day with Taunt if Steelix uses Sandstorm
Deciding that this wasn't the most favourable match-up, Brandon decides to switch out Skystrike to send in Flamestrike the Magmortar. Not wasting any time, Flamestrike starts by burning Boulder with a Will-o-Wisp. He then Blasts Boulder with an impressive wall of Fire, scorching Boulder. He then finishes by using Sunny Day to increase the intensity of the sun. Boulder retaliates by creating three massive Earthquakes, , knocking Flamestrike on his ass.
"Sorry C$FP, that Sun is here to stay! Taunt Steelix to stop him from using Sandstorm, then Protect to block that combo! Then finish it off with a Fire Blast!"
Knowing that he is in a good position, Flamestrike begins to Taunt Boulder. Boulder is then ordered to set up a Sandstorm, but the Steelix is so enraged that he ignores his trainers orders. Boulder then creates a powerful Double Earthquake, but it does little good as Flamestrike is able to set up a Protective barrier, protecting himself. Exhausted from that last attack, Boulder is wide open to a Fire Blast from Flamestrike, knocking him out.
Brandon knew that Flamestrike could easily finish off Lucario, but he also knew that he needed Flamestrike to take down Scizor, so he knew what he had to do. "Alright Flamestrike, come back for now," he said, recalling the Magmortar to his Pokeball. "And you're up Beetlestrike!" he shouted, as the Pokeball revealed his Heracross. Again, he waited for C$FP to choose whether or not to switch, even though the answer was fairly obvious.
