You are indeed wrong. Since Bonsly used Defense Curl on an action that wasn't A1, as a single-stage, single-boosting move, it locks in all boosts at the end of the round. It's at +1 Def this round, and will decay to 0 if I do not use Defense Curl again this round. Tyrogue, on the other hand, used Bulk Up on A1, meaning that it did not lock in at the end of the round.
