Passionate Battle! (Prototype)
B3P3 Triples
Any level above 0 is fine.
Tech: 1
All other rules standard.
In place of EN, both players have an EN Gauge that has a maximum of 1200, with 800 points at the start of the match.
- 1 EN is equal to 100 Points in the EN Gauge.
- Moves with a Priority higher than 0 cost no EN, but may only be used up to twice per move. Using them in a Combo costs and uses up both uses.
- Moves with a Priority lower than 0 cost no EN, but work like Bide. (In the sense that you have to use the move a second time. They're still cancelable by multi-hits.). They also may only be used up to twice per move.
- At the end of each round, Players gain an amount of points equal to 400, plus the HALVED sum of the speed stats of their active pokemon. Pokemon that are fatigued or flinched contribute half of their normal Speed Stat. (This doesn't stack; a Fatigued Flinched pokemon will still contribute half.)
- A new command, "Focus" exists. It costs 0 EN. Grants the User a unique condition, which grants them a number of points equal to their current speed at the end of the round. This amount is halved if the user is hit that turn.
- Chill increases the initial amount of points earned by 200 for the next round, instead of giving the user 20 EN. This also allows the EN Gauge to overcap, if it happens.
Whenever a team performs 6 moves, the team gains a Combo Token. (This Combo Token is shared across the team.)
While a team has Combo Token; they can't perform moves to progress towards another Combo Token. (They can still be used as normal, but they won't count towards the moves to gaining a Combo Token)
Combos cannot be performed without the use of Combo Tokens, and cost 0 EN.
Whenever a Combo is performed, raise that Combo's existing BAP by 6.
If a team's Combo has no BAP, their next Combo Token will be gained after 3 moves.
Looking to see how this plays out...
Current Questions I'd like to worry about;
Is the battle going to be too slow-paced?
Does it encourage the use of only fast pokemon?
Would an extremely fast pokemon, such as ones with a Speed increasing ability, be preferred to carry the EN Gauge for slower pokemon? Would that fast pokemon then become the main target?
Are pokemon with Pressure going to be more powerful options?
Is Tailwind basically a necessity?
Reffing this one. Might add some extra rules in future matches if it works out fine.
Example Extra Rule: If an active Arena Condition grants a Power Bonus or a Stat Rank to a certain type; Moves of that Type cost 1 Less EN.
