"Oh, that's... yeah, that's an injury all right."
:gyarados: "A-Ah, I know how to treat that one! I learned after Sasha smacked me a bit hard that one time and I was thrown on a rock! It's easy, you need a few medicinal herbs that should be growing in these parts!"
"It's looking quite serious, though... Do we have time to go and gather herbs?"
:gyarados: "Cauterizing the wound should help us buy some time! It won't be nearly enough, but..."
"Oh. Good thing we have a portable source of fire here then."
:camerupt: "Roger that!"

Gyarados will use the Useful Quality that comes with its title (Booksmart) to help create what's essentially antibiotics.
Camerupt will use Incinerate on Dorte's leg to cauterize the wound and buy time for the antibiotics cataplasm to be made.

You inform the professor of what you believe will be a good way to treat Dorte.

"Understood," she responds. "Everyone, stand back," she instructs, and all of you take a step back except for Reg. Reg does a safety check to make sure no one else is nearby, before inhaling slightly and firing out a modest fireball at Dorte's leg. Dorte winces in pain, which causes Marianne to gasp, but you reassure her that that was necessary for the healing process. Momentarily, everyone notices that Dorte's wound is beginning to cauterize.

"Now, we'll need to make some medicine and get some bandages," informs the professor. "Ingrid, head to Professor Manuela's office and ask her for some large bandages. Hilda, take Colin and his trainer with you and find the herbs we require. Marianne, stay here and comfort Dorte." Everyone nods in agreement and sets out to their tasks.

You return Reg to his ball and set out with Hilda and Colin. The first place you search for the herbs is the greenhouse, but you come up short. You then get a full tour of Garreg Mach as you continue your search, but again, no luck.

"Hmm, you know, I do remember seeing this plant growing at the bottom of the steps leading to the monastery," Hilda pondered. You suggest heading down there as soon as possible to help Dorte heal.

"Ugh, but that's so much effort. Can you go get them for me? Little ol' me is so tired from walking around..." Hilda put on her most charming expression. You don't buy into it, and Hilda quickly clocked that pouting would get her nowhere.

"Ugh, fine," she concedes. "I really can't stand to see my Marianne so sad, and if she's too sad, she wont want to ... oh nevermind." You travel down the steps, and lo and behold, there are the plants you need. You collect a sample of them and return to Dorte.

Success: +2 RPT

Ingrid had returned with the bandages a while ago, so Dorte's wound was closed off and safer from infection. Now he just needed the medicine to help relieve the pain. All more skilled in animal care than Hilda, Ingrid, Marianne, and the professor begin to use the plants you found to make the medicine. You and Hilda sit around for a couple minutes, before she turns to you.

"Ugh, it's so boring sitting here and waiting! How about we have a battle!"

You are challenged by Hilda!

My big brother Holst gave me these Pokémon! They're super strong!

"Whew, I'm all sweaty!" Hilda complains. "I'll need a big meal from the dining hall after that one! Come on, Marianne! Let's go!"

The two girls head off, followed shortly after by Ingrid. Dorte was feeling much better.

"Those battles certainly took up the whole day, didn't they?" the professor remarked. "Come, I'll show you to your lodgings."

The sun rises above the horizon at a glacial pace as you and your team, Colin the Gyarados and Reg the Camerupt, carefully trek up Mount Lanakila. Frost clings to frigid trees and sparkles in the gentle morning sunshine, and your breath comes out in puffy clouds of vapor. You're not here to challenge the Alola Pokémon League today (although you're sure you could do well in it if you tried). No, you're here in search of a village shrouded in mystery that is said to hold the secret to a coveted battle technique that makes Pokémon able to use moves far stronger than anyone can dream of.

You approach a gently flowing river of snowmelt burbling down the mountain which, according to your map, means that you have to go further up the mountain. This village is supposed to be hidden in an icy cavern! And so you continue up the mountain. Hey, that snow mound looks like a Pokémon head! Whoops, better stay focused. Ah, it looks like the gaping entrance to a cave is up ahead. It must be the right cave because no other cave has... ick. A large pit of shimmering rainbow sludge in front of it. It must have been left there to keep trainers out. Alolan Muk slime is known to be corrosive, so there's no toughing it out and walking straight through.

TMan87, how do you cross the pit of Alolan Muk sludge?

"I've spent enough time with Kazuma to know better than to touch this, let alone walk on it. I'm feeling dizzy just breathing it in. Any suggestions?"
:gyarados: "I could perhaps clear a path for us by washing away the slime?"
"Good idea, though I don't want to get hit by the tidal wave when it comes back.
:camerupt: "I've got that covered."

Colin will use Hydro Pump to wash away the slime in a straight path, and Reg will use Rock Tomb to create a stone-walled path without fear of more slime sliding towards us.

You and Reg take a step back as Colin opens his mouth wide before blasting the center of the oily sludge with a strong blast of water! Quickly, before the wave of water and sludge flows back into the pit, Reg stomps his hooves and several big boulders thud down, creating two makeshift walls to keep the path clear. Quickly now! All three of you scurry through the tight space between the boulders and climb out the pit at the other end.

Success! TMan87 gets +2 RPT

The cave is quite chilly on the inside, so you grab another jacket from your pack and bundle up. You can't catch a cold now! The slick stone walls are coated in ice that seems to glow with an eerie blue light. Trudging onward, the cave seems to be sloping downward. You must be deep inside the mountain by now. Oh! The cave now leads in two directions! But you seem to be hearing a melodious chime echoing from the right path. That must be the one that leads to the village. And so down that path you go.

It's getting quite dark now, so Reg helps light a torch that you brought. The cave is even spookier now with the wavering light from the torch and the fact that the chime hasn't been getting louder or softer no matter how far you've been walking. Without you noticing, the path suddenly leads to a large room with a high, sloping ceiling and a floor that looks like it's taken quite a beating. Cracks can be seen along the walls and one even looks like a few talons scratched several deep grooves into it! Along the edges of the room, there are five tunnels, evenly spaced, that lead into the gloomy darkness. One of those tunnels
has to lead to the village.

Your gaze then moves to the center of the room where a lone girl is sitting on the floor, a Midnight Lycanroc curled up beside her and a Chimecho hovering in the air in front of her. The Chimecho is gently rocking back and forth, producing the clear chime you must've heard. The girl has luscious blonde hair and is wearing flowing pink robes. Maybe she lives in the village?

All of a sudden, the Chimecho stops. Your team stares at her and her Pokémon. For a split second, nobody moves. Then, the girl stands up.
