The final member of the trio that greeted me when I woke up was a new one. Felicia was actually a gift from a fellow Trainer, and has been taught the fine arts of service. She's got a natural instinct for assistance and is always extremely happy to help in any way she can. She can get a bit overbearing at times, but only because she wishes for the best, which makes everyone forgive her almost instantly. Except that one time she dropped the soup on Hubert accidentally. He didn't like that.
Oh, and there are times where she spouts accidental innuendos. Lots of times. One could think she does it on purpose to mess with people, but no.

Background 2: Forced to grow up in the wild and fend for herself, Katsuragi decided to take the brute force approach and crush the skull of anyone who would harm her. She greatly respects strength and this is why, after a few bouts with Iris Heart (who enjoyed them but for different reasons), she decided to join, hoping perhaps to find companionship where she had known none prior.
Merit 2: Extremely strong and durable legs
Demerit 2: Boastful bordering on arrogance
Title 2 (optional): None

You are an agent working for Interpol, and you have been assigned to hunt down a wanted criminal, the nefarious Black Coat. Nobody knows who they are or what they look like, but they are the one responsible for a string of high-profile robberies across the globe. Every time, their victims always describe them as an imposing figure wearing a black coat, and so they became known as Black Coat. Supposedly, they were recently spotted in the bustling Saffron City, so your task today is to track them down and take them in for their crimes.

Today, Lilycove City is no less busy than usual, and the city is crowded with tourists and residents going about their business. According to the report, Black Coat was seen entering the building in front of you, a tall, blocky structure made of metal and glass. Just like all of the other tall, blocky buildings in this city. Great. Is this even the right place? You double check the address given to you, and yep. It's the one. Oh well, nothing to do but head inside.

Stepping inside, you find a pretty typical waiting room with your standard office plants to liven up the dull interior. Nothing quite like the soul-sucking environment of an office building. There is a front desk, but the receptionist appears to be away at the moment. There is also an elevator, but an "Out of Order" sign has been taped to it. Fortunately, the stairs are right next to the elevator, but they are sealed behind a locked door. Oh well. You sit on one of the hard, gray chairs while you think about what to do next.

Just then, as you look around, the door behind the front desk opens up, and a woman exits. Ah, she must be the receptionist. You stand up, planning to ask her a few strategically formulated questions about the building to scope out whether Black Coat is really here without revealing too much about your purpose here. This seems to be the wrong move, as her eyes dart to your... disappointingly obvious Interpol badge and uniform. Oops. Without a word, she swiftly goes back to the door she came from, and you hear an automatic locking noise. There goes your attempt at being discreet. You've probably blown your cover too, and Black Coat could already be on their way out. You make a mental note to yourself to look into a less conspicuous uniform. Hmm, what to do now...

Well, you could try jumping over the desk and following the receptionist. You could also try going up the stairs. However, all of the doors are locked, so you'll need to find a way to get past them. Preferably with as little destruction as possible, since you don't want to attract more attention than you already have.

TMan87, what do you do?

:lilligant-hisui: "Let's bust down the door! Who cares about property damage?!"
1723621074099.png
"I do. Last time we had the boss pay nearly two million in damage, remember? I've been told not to do that again..."
:lilligant-hisui: "Oh... Right."
:indeedee-f: "The receptionist might still be there... She is probably our best lead right now!"
1723621074099.png
"Good thinking... Let's try to have her get back here..."

:indeedee-f:Felicia the Indeedee will use Disarming Voice through the door to lure the receptionist out. When she does, :lilligant-hisui:Katsuragi the Lilligant-H will use Aromatherapy to soothe her and make her easier to question.

Felicia starts to make cute squealing noises, and sure enough, the door opens just a bit. You see the receptionist peeking outside to see what's going on, but she still looks distrustful. So, Katsuragi releases a soothing scent from her flower to calm her down. The receptionist seems to be confused, but she comes outside to talk.
1723622113289.png

"H-hello, can I help you?"

You ask her who she is, and why she disappeared into the back so suddenly upon seeing you.

1723622113289.png

"O-oh, I'm so sorry about that. I get nervous around people, you see. Why did I even apply for this job in the first place..."

You then ask her if she's seen a weird guy with a black coat around here.

1723622113289.png

"M-me? Well, I don't really speak much with the office staff, so I don't really know... um... Is there anything else I can help you with?"

You ask her if she can unlock the door leading to the stairs since the elevator is broken.

1723622113289.png

"W-well... I don't know why you would need to go up there, but I-I guess I could? You seem like you know what you're doing..."

She goes over and unlocks the door for you.

1723622113289.png

"Th-there you go. I hope that helped."

Well that went well. Going up the stairs to the first floor, you are met with many cubicles. After walking around, you conclude that they're all empty. Maybe the office workers are off on lunch break? But where could Black Coat be? They would probably be in one of the higher floors, so it would probably be better to keep going up. But before you can head back to the stairs, you hear a voice. Or rather, three voices.

:ss/dodrio:
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
"What are you doing here?"
"Here?"

Uh oh. Better run. But the stairs are blocked by a spiky blue wall!

:ss/toxapex:
"You aren't going anywhere, intruder. Not until you tell us what you're doing here."

Uh oh. You have no time to lose. Guess you'll have to fight this one out, and fast.

With one last Psychic attack, Felicia successfully dispatches the last office worker, and both Toxapex and Dodrio swiftly leave the room, leaving you alone once more. After quickly healing your Pokémon, you're ready to go. Back to that investigation!

You head up the stairs to the third floor, ignoring the Do Not Enter sign taped to the door. Upon entering, you see a corridor lit with dim yellow lights faintly buzzing in the background. Below you is a musty gray carpeted floor that gives off a faint damp smell. The walls are a weak olive color, and you can see water damage at the edges. You see a small nook on your left with a drinking fountain. The handle has rusted over, and it's covered in cobwebs. Gross. Well, might as well keep going.

Proceeding down the hallway, you see doors on your left and right. They're probably meeting rooms or personal offices or something. You try one of the doors, but behind it is just a blank wall. Weird. You want to see what's at the end of the hallway, though, so you keep walking. But the more you walk, the longer the hallway seems to get... Eventually, though, you reach the end. You see another drinking fountain with a rusted handle. On your left, you see a set of stairs. Wait... this set of stairs looks an awful lot like the stairs you took to get here...

Going down the stairs, you return to the second floor. Or at least you expected to return to the second floor. You open the door to the second floor and are met with the exact same floor you came from. Dim yellow lights, musty grey carpet, drinking fountain with a rusted handle. It's all the same. Beginning to worry, you return to the stairs. Looking up, you see an endless set of stairs going up farther than you can see. Looking down, you see the same exact thing. What in the world is going on...

TMan87, how do you escape the endless third floor?

:lilligant-hisui: "Huh."
:indeedee-f: "Oh! I've read about this! It was in the latest number of Occulture, about space-time mysteries! Let me take a look, it should be around this section..."

"Where do you stash this magaz-"
:indeedee-f: "Ah! I found it! Page 51! Let me read... 'People have found a few oddities throughout the world where space or time seemingly loops unto itself, trapping the person that happens to be there.' That's us!"
1724350867116.png
"Anything about how we get out of here?"

:lilligant-hisui: "Hmmm..."
:indeedee-f: "Let's see... 'In most cases, it is recommended to carefully analyze the ley lines to find the point of weaker resonance. By targeting this point of weaker resonance by sufficiently trained spirit energy, an elemental meltdown might happen, which in turn causes the very fabric of time and space to get looser. Done with enough precision, this process can allow one to undo the loop, though it might have slight side effects such as turning the victim into paste or changing their skin color to blue with purple polka dots. In other words...'"
:lilligant-hisui: "Hey, Felicia?"
:indeedee-f: "Ye- AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEE!"
:lilligant-hisui: "Made a hole into the wall and now there's this weird void goo swirling in. Think I can see another room into the distance though."
:indeedee-f: "KAT I SWEAR TO-"

:lilligant-hisui:Katsuragi will use her legs (Merit) to tear down a wall to escape from the cursed hallway. :indeedee-f:Felicia will use her Psychic Surge Ability to create a mental field to stabilize the time-space energy running amok and help us escape.

While you and Felicia were figuring out what happened, Katsuragi kicks down a wall in frustration. To all of your surprise, there is nothing but a black void behind the walls. Strange. But Kat said she could spot a room in the black void, and sure enough, there's another room floating in the void. With her Psychic Surge, Felicia creates a safe space to walk on, and you all walk through the hole in the wall into the unknown.

Walking along this path made of pure Psychic energy, you look around you and see nothing but a black void. What is this place anyways? When you reach the other room, Kat breaks open a hole in the wall for you all to enter through, and you find yourself in...

A department store? You find yourself in a closed department store. The lights are all off, but from the light through the windows, you can make out the dim outlines of mannequins wearing designer clothes and racks of shirts, pants, and dresses. Looking around, nobody is here.

Huh? You and your Pokémon begin levitating off of the ground, and then suddenly you are thrown against a clothing rack, causing it to topple over. Fortunately the clothes broke your fall, so you aren't badly hurt. What was that though?

is allied with Black Coat! This means you're on the right track.

Then, you feel a sudden chill behind you, and the room darkens. It looks like the windows have been covered with layers of clothes and ice. Cryogonal appears by the windows...
