Moves
========

Belly Drum maximizes Zangoose's Attack, which immediately turns it into an offensive threat and dangerous late-game cleaner at the cost of 50% of its HP. Quick Attack makes up for Zangoose's merely decent Speed tier and becomes fairly powerful after it uses Belly Drum, allowing it to KO certain offensive checks such as Pyroar and Primeape and making it quite difficult to revenge kill without a faster Ghost-type. Knock Off provides Zangoose with coverage for Ghost-types such as Spiritomb, Gourgeist-XL, and Golurk, which are immune to Quick Attack. Close Combat rounds out Zangoose's coverage, giving it the ability to heavily damage Rock- and Steel-types that resist Quick Attack such as Regirock, Ferroseed, Aggron, and Probopass. Return could be considered over Close Combat in order to give Zangoose a more reliable, powerful STAB option that OHKOes the likes of defensive Mesprit at +6, though opting for it over Close Combat means that Zangoose cannot bypass Rock- and Steel-types. Furthermore, Return isn't really necessary, since Zangoose is already powerful enough to OHKO most threats with Quick Attack or Close Combat at +6.

Set Details
========

The investment in Speed and Attack maximizes Zangoose's offensive presence, with a Jolly nature allowing it to outpace Pokemon such as Jolly Skuntank and Pinsir. The remaining 4 EVs are placed in HP to ensure that Sitrus Berry will activate after Zangoose uses Belly Drum. Sitrus Berry restores 25% of Zangoose's HP, which leaves it at 75% after it uses Belly Drum. Normalium Z can be used over Sitrus Berry to turn Belly Drum into Z-Belly Drum, which restores all of Zangoose's lost HP before it uses Belly Drum. If Zangoose can manage to safely use Belly Drum once, it can use Z-Belly Drum afterwards to completely regain its HP; however, this is far more situational and leaves Zangoose weaker than if it was holding a Sitrus Berry. Immunity renders Zangoose immune to poison, meaning that it can freely switch in on Toxic Spikes and cannot be put on a timer with Toxic.

Usage Tips
========

Since Zangoose is a late-game cleaner, it should refrain from attempting to set up until after very physically bulky Pokemon like Gourgeist-XL and faster Ghost-types such as Haunter and Oricorio-G have been either weakened or removed, as it is unlikely that it will get a second chance to attempt to do so. However, despite excelling as a late-game cleaner that can shred offensive teams, Belly Drum Zangoose is also capable of wallbreaking against balance teams. Zangoose's meager defenses and lack of resistances or immunities barring Ghost prevent it from reliably switching in on even weaker attacks, meaning that it should only be brought in following the use of Memento, through the use of U-turn or Volt Switch, or after a teammate is KOed. Zangoose should be cautious of switching in while entry hazards are up, as they further shorten its longevity and limit its ability to safely use Belly Drum and switching in on Toxic Spikes reveals Zangoose's set. Zangoose should mainly set up against slower Pokemon that it forces out like Aurorus.

Team Options
========

Belly Drum Zangoose fits on offensive teams, primarily Sticky Web teams, as they are more than capable of providing the support that Zangoose needs in order to do its job well. Sticky Web support from Pokemon such as Smeargle and Leavanny slows foes down, which can give Zangoose an easier time sweeping and leave it less reliant on Quick Attack against faster foes. Furthermore, the former can use Spore to help Zangoose create setup opportunities as well as Nuzzle to keep faster foes like Primeape in check, while the latter can provide useful Knock Off support and keep entry hazards away with Magic Coat. Zangoose appreciates being paired with Pursuit trappers such as Skuntank and Spiritomb, since they can remove faster Ghost-types that easily revenge kill Zangoose like Haunter and Oricorio-G. The former can also provide entry hazard removal, while the latter can cripple physical attackers with Will-O-Wisp, which can potentially ease setup. Both also threaten defensive Mesprit, using up its Colbur Berry and allowing Zangoose to OHKO it with Knock Off at +6. Memento support from the likes of Alolan Dugtrio and the two previously mentioned Pursuit trappers is very much appreciated due to Zangoose's frailty giving it a difficult time freely setting up. Jumpluff can additionally put foes to sleep with Sleep Powder, which can make cleaning for Zangoose easier. Dual screens support from Meowstic-M augments Zangoose's bulk, which is useful for giving it an easier time with both setting up and stomaching attacks subsequent to using Belly Drum. Meowstic-M is also capable of crippling foes with Thunder Wave, which slightly lessens the need to use Quick Attack. As a late-game cleaner, Zangoose appreciates being paired with strong wallbreakers like Kingler, Aurorus, and Pyroar that can pave the way for Zangoose to finish teams off by either heavily damaging or removing physically bulky Pokemon like Weezing. Entry hazard support from Pokemon such as Mesprit and Ferroseed is appreciated, as the chip damage can be useful for guaranteeing certain KOs such as on Skuntank with +6 Quick Attack. Entry hazards being up also prevents Sturdy users like Regirock and Golem from taking one hit and KOing Zangoose in return. Mesprit can also beat Weezing, check Fighting-types, get Zangoose in safely with a slow U-turn, and provide Healing Wish support to potentially give a weakened Zangoose another chance at setting up and sweeping. Entry hazard removers like Swanna can prove useful for limiting the damage that Zangoose has to take prior to using Belly Drum, which gives it an easier time setting up and subsequently cleaning. Swanna is also capable of checking Fighting-types, specifically Gurdurr, for Zangoose as well as threatening physically bulky Pokemon like Weezing and Sableye with Supersonic Skystrike.

  • Belly Drum maximizes Zangoose's Attack, which immediately turns it into an offensive threat and dangerous late-game cleaner, at the cost of 50% of its HP.
  • Quick Attack makes up for Zangoose's merely decent Speed tier and becomes fairly powerful after it uses Belly Drum, allowing it to KO certain offensive checks such as Pyroar and Choice Scarf Primeape. (makes it extremely hard to revenge kill without something like haunter or oricorio-g too)
  • Knock Off provides Zangoose with coverage for Ghost-types that are immune to Quick Attack such as Spiritomb, Gourgeist-XL, and Golurk.
  • Close Combat rounds out Zangoose's coverage, giving it the ability to heavily damage Rock- and Steel-types that resist Quick Attack such as Regirock, Ferroseed, Aggron, and Probopoass.
  • Return could be considered over Close Combat in order to give Zangoose a more reliable, powerful STAB option, though opting for it over Close Combat means that Zangoose cannot bypass Rock- and Steel-types. (something something doesn't need its stab really when at +6)
Set Details
========
  • The investment in Speed and Attack maximizes Zangoose's offensive presence, with a Jolly nature allowing it to outpace Pokemon such as Skuntank and Pinsir. (i know it's rare but the last 4 evs in hp actually has a purpose, which is to leave it at even hp after you use drum from 100%, therefor you should explain that)
  • Sitrus Berry restores 25% of Zangoose's HP, which leaves it at 75% after it uses Belly Drum.
  • Normalium Z can be used over this to turn Belly Drum into Z-Belly Drum, which restores all of Zangoose's lost HP before it uses Belly Drum. If Zangoose can manage to safely use Belly Drum once, it can use Z-Belly Drum afterwards to completely regain its HP. (far more situational however, and leaves zangoose weaker than if it uses sitrus)
  • Immunity gives Zangoose an impunity to poison, meaning that Toxic cannot be used to put it on a timer. (or toxic spikes too) (i'd also mention, more likely in usage tips to be honest, that as soon as zangoose switches into tspikes or toxic that its set is revealed)
Usage Tips
========
  • Since Zangoose is a late-game cleaner, it should refrain from attempting to set up until after very physically bulky Pokemon like Tangela and faster Ghost-types such as Haunter and Oricorio-G have been either weakened or removed, as it is unlikely that it will get a second chance to attempt to do so. (pretty sure knock into close combat destroys tangela. it's basically either colbur ghost-types like gourgeist-xl or fast ghost-types like the aforementioned duo) (it can actually be used to wallbreak versus balance teams or even shred offensive teams)
  • Zangoose's meager defenses and lack of resistances or immunities barring Ghost prevent it from reliably switching in on even weaker attacks, meaning that it should only be brought in following the use of Memento, through the use of U-turn and Volt Switch, or after a teammate is KOed.
  • Zangoose should be cautious of switching in while entry hazards are up, as they further shorten its longevity and limit its ability to safely use Belly Drum. (toxic spikes not poisoning also reveals its set)
  • Belly Drum should be used once Zangoose manages to switch in, since this turns it into an immediate offensive threat and makes it difficult to stop. (basically, if you switch in zangoose, you are only doing so to press belly drum and once it's ready to use it)
Team Options
========
  • Belly Drum Zangoose fits primarily on offensive teams, as they are more than capable of providing the support that Zangoose needs in order to do its job to the best of its ability. (100% give a shoutout to webs teams, which pretty much use it to maximum effect)
  • Zangoose appreciates being paired with Pursuit trappers such as Skuntank and Spiritomb, since they can remove the faster Ghost-types that easily revenge kill Zangoose like Haunter and Oricorio-G. The latter can also cripple physical attackers with Will-O-Wisp, which can potentially ease setup. The two also threaten defensive Mesprit, using up its Colbur Berry and allowing Zangoose to OHKO it with Knock Off at +6. (something something skuntank does struggle against sub oricorio-g) (skuntank is also a hazard remover)
  • Memento support from the likes of the two previously mentioned Pursuit trappers, Alolan Dugtrio, and Jumpluff is very much appreciated due to Zangoose's frailty giving it a difficult time freely setting up. Jumpluff can additionally put foes to sleep with Sleep Powder, which can make cleaning for Zangoose easier.
  • Dual screens support from Meowstic-M augments Zangoose's bulk, which is useful for giving it an easier time with both setting up and stomaching attacks subsequent to using Belly Drum. (meow can also cripple stuff with thunder wave)
  • As a late-game cleaner, Zangoose appreciates being paired with strong wallbreakers like Kingler, Aurorus, and Stoutland that can pave the way for Zangoose to finish teams off by either heavily damaging or removing physically bulky Pokemon like Weezing. (unsure about stoutland. i wouldn't use double normal on these kinds of teams. pyroar is a fantastic shout though)
  • webs
  • Entry hazard support from Pokemon such as Mesprit and Ferroseed is appreciated, as the chip damage can be useful for guaranteeing certain KOs such as on Skuntank with +6 Quick Attack. Mesprit can also beat Weezing, check Fighting-types, get Zangoose in safely with a slow U-turn, and provide Healing Wish support should Zangoose get weakened beforehand. (hazards also break sturdy too, so things like golem and regirock can't just cripple or ohko it)
  • Entry hazard removers such as Hitmonchan and Swanna can also prove useful for limiting the damage that Zangoose has to take prior to using Belly Drum, which gives it an easier time setting up and subsequently cleaning. Both can also break through bulkier Rock-types, with the former not removing any potential entry hazards that Zangoose's team may set and the latter checking Fighting-types for Zangoose and beating certain physically bulky Pokemon like Weezing and Sableye. (to be honest, im unsure about the hitmonchan mention. zangoose already breaks through every bulky rock-type in the tier at +6 and struggling with both weezing and ghost-types overlap quite a lot) (swanna also beats gurdurr specifically)
Looks aight. QC 1/3.

Belly Drum maximizes Zangoose's Attack, which immediately turns it into an offensive threat and dangerous late-game cleaner,(RC) at the cost of 50% of its HP. Quick Attack makes up for Zangoose's merely decent Speed tier and becomes fairly powerful after it uses Belly Drum, allowing it to KO certain offensive checks such as Pyroar and Primeape and making it quite difficult to revenge kill without a faster Ghost-type. Knock Off provides Zangoose with coverage for Ghost-types that are immune to Quick Attack such as Spiritomb, Gourgeist-XL, and Golurk,(AC) which are immune to Quick Attack ("that" implies that not all Ghost-types are immune).

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Zangoose's meager defenses and lack of resistances or immunities barring Ghost prevent it from reliably switching in on even weaker attacks, meaning that it should only be brought in following the use of Memento, through the use of U-turn and or Volt Switch, or after a teammate is KOed.

========

The former can also provide entry hazard removal,(AC) while the latter can cripple physical attackers with Will-O-Wisp, which can potentially ease setup.
