Overview

This team has won a bunch of tournament games for me and has some fun mons to use that are not mainstays in OU that come with some interesting sets to boot. Let's get into it.

Team Members

:Gyarados:: Worse than Feraligatr into offense but better than it into fat. Taunt allows you to 1v1 unaware Clefable by preventing it from healing and enough attack to 4HKO with waterfall. Odds are about even that one of those first 3 Waterfalls will flinch. This paste has Moxie, though I flipflop between preferring that or Intimidate as it gives you more opportunities to DDance. Pick whichever you'd prefer. EV Breakdown: Enough speed to outspeed Weavile at +1, enough attack to 4HKO Clef from full (including leftovers, even on the turn that you taunt it), the rest into HP for bulk.

:Raikou:: Good speed tier that sets up on and can 1v1 relevant mons such as Starmie (not likely to risk the speed tie if offensive, will have no choice but to switch if defensive), Scizor, Mew, Rotom-Wash, Suicune, Tangrowth (after a sleep sack), and maybe more. Tbolt, Scald and Sball counteract a mediocre Sp. Attack stat with excellent coverage to help break ground types and Latias. Shuca gives it a second opportunity to fish for a Scald burn into Garchomp and even 1v1 ChainChomp (which often runs - Sp. Def nature). Phys def Gliscor may not even get a chance to hit you, preserving your Shuca (+1 252 SpA Raikou Scald vs. 244 HP / 0 SpD Gliscor: 306-360 (86.9 - 102.2%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock).

:Garchomp:: I like Sub SD on this set because with Scizor being a pivot set on this build instead of the standard HO Life Orb 3 Attack set as well as having a Lucario I'm not as worried about Tangrowths or Clefables stopping this team's momentum. You could run a third attack if you'd like, but I find that Garchomp is a mon that people often feel the need to pivot around on and Sub gives you less chances to make mistakes.

:Scizor:: Bulky Pivot over SD for aforementioned longevity into Clef but mostly Tangrowth. Iron Plate gives comparable damage to Life Orb Bullet Punch anyway and having the ability to pivot may lure in Heatrans which gives both Gyarados and Garchomp the ability to set up freely.

:Lucario:: Standard HO set, priority is really important for offense. Espeed + CC go brrrr.

:Skarmory:: Standard HO lead. To be honest I was hoping by putting Skarm last on the team instead of the unofficial standard first slot for a lead that I might trick people on team preview into thinking that this is some weird balance with Skarm and Sciz as a defensive core. I can't say for sure if that's ever actually worked, and it probably never has, but hey use every tool at your disposal to win, right?

Weaknesses

:Tangrowth:: Mostly physical sweepers on this team, and "breaking" Tang doesn't really work the same way as it does vs. other walls because of Regen. Sciz with recovery will help into this but never let Scizor be the sleep sack, Gyarados will never do anything into it.

:Starmie:: Offensive Starmie can kind of just kill everything on this team. The saving graces are that Sciz and Gyara (unless tbolt) won't be one shot and a smart opponent would be wise to never risk a speed tie vs. Raikou with how well it does into the other members of the team.

:Milotic:: Another physical wall, and the "answers" to it don't want to be scalded. May have to just risk Sciz being burned just to get Raikou in at full health.

:Weavile:: Only Lucario and Sciz can set up in this thing's face but nothing wants to come in hard vs it. Trade wisely, predict switchins.

TL;DR:
It's hazard stack lead HO. Make bold plays, identify who will break and who will sweep, click set up move and win in 10 turns. Or lose in 10 turns.

Decided to drop some terrible teams in light of the 2024 circuit. These will mostly consist of teams I've enjoyed using and succeeded with.

Scarf Heatran + Banded Mamoswine
:alakazam: :heatran: :rotom-wash: :clefable: :gliscor: :mamoswine:

I created this team from one of my stints when I wanted to build Zam + Offensive Heatran cores. Alakazam needs no introduction; it can absolutely tear through teams with its impressive speed stat, along with its high special attack paired with Life Orb. With Scizor being one of its best checks, I naturally decided to pair it with Flame Body Heatran to capitalize on forced switch-ins and apply offensive pressure with speed control. Rotom-wash is able to act as a defensive pivot, being able to come in on opposing choiced Rotom-Wash, Starmie, and Togekiss (provided it doesn't hax Rotom to death). 92 speed was a spread I found from TyCarter that week that was used to outpace opposing defensive Heatran. Volt Switch is also useful to enable safe switch-ins to Alakazam and Mamoswine. Clefable and Gliscor were both added as the "fuck Garchomp" core and providing hazards + hazard control. I gave Mamoswine the Choice Band to give it the ability to become a threatening breaker without having the LO recoil that often hampers its longevity. Double-Edge was added on as a tech for Rotom-Wash, as it was still a mon the team tended to struggle against.

Specs Mismagius Volt Turn
:infernape: :rotom-wash: :mismagius: :mew: :gliscor: :scizor:

Classic volt turn with Mismagius as the breaker. Infernape and Rotom-Wash do volt turn things while Mismagius provides itself as a special breaker that has very few resists to its natural STAB. With rocks support from Mew, Mismagius is better able to tear through Gliscor, Mew, Heatran, Rotom-Wash, and Scizor. The former two enable Rotom-Wash's volt switch, and the latter three enable an SD Scizor endgame. Mew was chosen as the rocker since there was a great emphasis on getting rocks up and Mew does a damn good job at doing that. Gliscor was chosen for the ground immunity and defog. Scizor was chosen due to SD Sciz being one of the best wincons in the game along with additional U-turn support.

Gastropog Stall
:Tangrowth: :Gastrodon: :Skarmory: :Blissey: :Clefable: :Gliscor:

Team was mainly Codex's idea tbf. Loved the idea but after using a slightly different variation of this team in LCQ semifinals, I realized that if Gastrodon scald didn't burn Scizor then the team gets smashed by last mon Scizor. As a result, I came up with a funny fire fang tech that allowed for the team to at least have a standing chance against SD Scizor.

Poliwrath Stall
:Clefable: :Poliwrath: :Blissey: :Gliscor: :Tangrowth: :Heatran:

Built a team around Poliwrath to avoid playing the Weavile 50/50 game. Clef exists as the wincon of the team, with the idea that the team will eventually get worn down enough to allow it to win. Poliwrath exists as the Weavile and Crawdaunt counter, able to come in on two mons that would otherwise prove to be a bit threating. It's also able to annoy teams by throwing out scalds and circle throws for passive damage with burn and potential rocks chip. Blissey is the special wall, not much else to be said about it. This Gliscor now has its much more normal set with Knock Off to remove lefties + potential choice items. With Poliwrath on the team to handle Crawdaunt, Tangrowth can hold an item and Miracle Seed allows it to KO Gliscor from full after a Roost. Heatran is in as a way to deal with Togekiss and protect scout choice mons.

Specs Latias + Scarf Heatran
:Clefable: :Heatran: :Rotom-Wash: :Latias: :Garchomp: :Scizor:

Similar to the Zam team, where Latias is enabled to click buttons thanks to its teammates. Heatran, Rotom-Wash, and even Garchomp all make Scizor's life a never-ending nightmare. Rotom-Wash with plot can break past otherwise annoying SpDef Pivot Mew and can get healed with the use of Clef's wishes. Scarf Heatran once again is able to provide speed control and lure in Defensive Starmie with Dark Pulse to potentially open up Garchomp and Scizor.

TEAM BAZAAR
Teams that haven't gotten wins in tournament games but could still be a decent use regardless.

Heracross Volt Turn
:Heracross: :Heatran: :Rotom-Wash: :Gliscor: :Clefable: :Mew:

Could've won the game I used it in but I got haxed and tilted off a bridge unfortunately. Had a good MU too, so that was a shame.

PZ Volt Turn
:Porygon-Z: :Scizor: :Rotom-Wash: :Mew: :Gliscor: :Infernape:

Has had good results in friendlies but built it after the circuit. PZ Clicks normal move and big number appear. Should honestly be C tier at worst there are way worse mons there right now.

Snorlax + Poliwrath Stall
:Snorlax: :Clefable: :Poliwrath: :Mew: :Gliscor: :Heatran:

Honestly should maybe be in with the actual teams, given it has a win of importance, but having 2 Poliwrath teams there feels like some sort of crime.

Specs DNite Rain
:Dragonite: :Volbeat: :Mew: :Kingdra: :Qwilfish: :Azumarill:

This team is either fire or wet garbage and there's no in between. Specs DNite is just a funny mon and the rest of the team is a basic rain team, so I'll leave it at that.
