Best New Moves

Draco Meteor is amazing, and Outrage has gotten a significant boost in power. Others include Close Combat, Stone Edge Trick Room, U-Turn, Nasty Plot aswell as both new kinds of Spikes (Toxic and Stealth Rock) and bug types finally getting decent STAB (X-Scissor)

Nasty Plot, although Tail Glow has a cooler name and should have been used instead, is a very important new move. Focus Blast is the best thing ever to happen to Alakazam and Gengar. Charge Beam is good for gimmicks. Close Combat and the fact that everything learns it is probably the best thing to happen to Heracross, same with Stone Edge and Dugtrio/Anything that relied on Rock Slide. The physical-special split is probably the biggest new "move" over any of these.

I am most likely wrong (I had about a month of experience in the Adv metagame), but weren't Trick Room and Toxic Spikes both in Advance?

I'll have to go with Close Combat, Nasty Plot, Stealth Rock and everything else that everyone has already said.

You are wrong.

Well not exactly game breaking, but giving Relicanth Rock Head, Head Smash and Rock Polish was one of my favorite things of D/P.

Agreeing with about 90% of the posts, the best moves would have to be Close Combat and Stealth Rocks, my team is always packing one of those. I've been planning on working on a Trick Room team though.

Nasty Plot. It's turned pokemon that would've just been mediocre into major threats that not even Blissey can handle 100% of the time.

Three big ones that aren't primary sources of ++ ITT:
-Physical Elemental Punches and "special" type slashes (Psycho Cut, Leaf Blade): Gives physical sweepers exponential increase of type coverage and made breeding/tutoring in Emerald a necessity for a lot of Pokemon. Double STAB for Gallade and Medicham is the bee's knees.
-Leaf Storm, Energy Ball, and Grass Knot: Just as Draco Meteor is now the coolest kid's Dragon Move, grass finally has usable Special attacks (aside from Leaf Blade, which a whopping Sceptile learned). Grass Knot and Leaf Storm in particular gave max coverage to a number of Pokemon and gave Pikachu something to work with after losing Special Volt Tackle. Roserade is basically nothing without Leaf Storm.

Draco Meteor: enormous BP and lack of resists. Close Combat: it allowed Hera to beat Skarm, and gave fighting types a hugely powerful move to work with that can be used more than once in a row. U-Turn: ease prediction, avoid Pursuit, get out of Arena Trap/Mean Look, and do damage? yes please. Nasty Plot: allows non-Fighting special attackers to actually handle blissey without resorting to Choice Specs. Grass Knot: hits everything it needs to outside of Starmie, hard.

Trick Room and U-Turn are great strategy moves.

My personal favorite attack is Flash Cannon. I don't know why, but I just absolutely love it, especially on Empoleon, Jirachi, and Magnezone.

Physical Pursuit is the best new move. Really.
Then uhhh... Close Combat for my I guess.... and everything else mentioned, but most aren't really so much "new" moves as they are slightly better or different versions of old moves added to more key Pokemons' movepools...

As for coolest/most original move, U-Turn is awesome.

Roost, Stealth Rock, Close Combat, Aura Sphere, Nasty Plot, tail glow...

Hidden power becoming special was pretty cool.
