Once you know his/her phazer(which is pretty easy as it comes out everytime your BPer comes out) and successfully destroy it then I would say that Medicham is the best stat-boost reciever. Octillery however can bypass this step so it makes an awesome stat-reciever. A heracross would also be a good status-reciever and with guts boost you're nearly unstoppable. Infernape is also a good option IMO but you'd have to run either a physical or special on him as it would be near impossible to stat-up both.
 
Well what if their team had no phazer?

Really the best way of using a Baton Passing Team is to give Medicham Baton Pass so it can baton pass to Octillery if the phazer comes out...
 
Zangoose is actually a very good stat reciever. With a Fighting/Ghost and Ice/Electric Combination, I believe it hits everything for neutral, if not Super Effective.
 
Zangoose is just too mediocre, there are a lot of things with higher attack and speed than it and high defence too. Type combination is good but there are better options.

i know that porygonZ already has nasty plot in its movepool, but wouldnt a fourth move and some speed be really useful?
 
Porygon-Z doesn't have good type coverage and can easily be phazed...

Anyways...there are only 4 votes left and i never guessed that Medicham is leading the votes...very unsuspected if you asked me. But anything can be happen really...
 
It would have been wise to make a new thread and says "now that we better understand an evolved metagame, who is the best stat receiver?" instead of bumping a year old thread.
 
I swept a team with a Venonat once :P
After receiving a perfect baton pass of course. +6 all stats other than SA (this was in adv).

Venonat is the best receiver.

I'm going to actually vote for Medicham or Octillery (I liked that Octillery strategy mentioned earlier!!)
 
Lol this thread is really old, I voted on it once upon a time xD. Bibarel and Tinted Lens Yanmega come to my mind and neither are up there
 
People keeps saying such and such pokemon is the best to recive BP because its receiveing +2 attack and + 2 speed (from ninjask)

What if its only receiving +2/+4 speed, then who is the best choice?
 
I'm going to have to Say Lucario.
With just one Speed boost it outruns almost all non scarfed threats, and a +2 in attack just makes him deadly =/
 
breelom is a very good receiver , +2 speed resistance to Ground, Rock, Water, Dark and Electric and already high attack, can put to sleep hazers and inmune to status with poison heal and toxic orb.

Well, usually this does not affect the decision, since +2 is usually all that's needed.
It would help in battle, but I don't think it would affect who a person chooses to be the reciever, unless they're very, very slow (Bronzong?)
 
Well Simple Bibarel is just too good. Only thing to worry about are ghosts with sucker punch ( spriritomb). However, its a beast in UU. I gave it just one SD and Agility from scyther and I OHKOD the opposition. Steelix ohko with waterfal ^_^
 
If you wanted to bring the issue up again, wouldn't it be better to make a new poll and compare the results, instead of bumping up an old one where half the people had already voted?
