SV OU Better than Hydrapple Stall: DIPPLIN STALL!!!!!!!!! pls RMT and give me some suggestions.

Yup we are building a stall team featuring dipplin. As always, its not gonna be perfect, so please feel free to give me suggestions on how to make it better.

th

So yea lets reveal the team:
Team importable: https://pokepast.es/3749e1e03b809f9b
Team Breakdown:
Dipplin @ Eviolite
Ability: Sticky Hold
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 SpD
Bold Nature
- Recover
- Syrup Bomb
- Dragon Tail
- Infestation
Dipplin is actually a very good stall mon because of its insane physical bulk paired with eviolite and sticky hold so that it doesn't lose the extra eviolite bulk. Also this little thing walls one of the most threatening stallbreakers, ogerpon-wellspring. Dragon tail is used to force switches in tandem with hazards for insane amounts of passive damage and also to control setup sweepers (notably play rough ogerpon-w). Infestation to trap and syrup bomb bc why not.

Blissey @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Natural Cure
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball
A standard blissey set which can eat up many special hits thanks to its sky high hp stat and very good spdef stat. it can switch in to various mons like ghold, specs pult and hit them with a super effective shadow ball and tis also a potential wincon thanks to calm mind. Overall a very solid stall mon to pair with a physically defensive dipplin.

Great Tusk @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
A support great tusk set with rocks, spin, eq, and knock off with max attack and speed. I added great tusk because I need hazard removal so that my own dipplin doesn't get worn down by rocks, spikes/tspikes and forced to recover the turn it switches in. This pokemon is also capable of tanking various hits with its high hp and def without any investment.

Dondozo @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Curse
- Liquidation
Unaware dondozo completely shuts down physical setup sweepers thank to unaware and is also another potential wincon with curse liquidation + rest sleeptalk to heal up. Dozo + dipplin makes for a physically unbreakable core capable of dealing actual damage to the opponent. All of my defensive mons are boots because hazards are very annoying.

Clodsire @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Recover
Dondozo is the first unaware mon on the team to shut down phys attackers, but clodsire is on the team to ward off special setup sweepers that dondozo and blissey struggle to wall. Clod can provide good support in spikes and toxic, with can wear down opposing teams (unless they have boots). Although psyshock can be a problem, we have tera steel on this + mons like valiant can get chipped down by toxic damage and hazards.

Talonflame @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Roost
- Defog
- Will-O-Wisp
A standard physically bulky talonflame with a good amount of speed investment to spread fast will-o-wisps and wall stallbreakers like meowscarada which is a major problem for this team (unless talonflame burns it). Added defog for extra hazard removal but u can replace this with u-turn or any other move if you like. This mon is a very underrated stall mon which walls meows.

so yea thats the team

will add more soon

This team is very fun however im still very low on the ladder. Any criticism or improvements are appreciated. THANK YOU!!!:woop:

The team is nice but it looks like a few specific sets could really cause you trouble. Mixed Kyurem and Mixed Val look like they can go crazy against your team, with the only Kyurem check being Tera on Clod and the only Val check is Talon.

The mon that really throws me off is the Great Tusk. I'm sure spin support is nice, but the point of running a Sticky Hold user on stall is to have a Knock Off absorber to keep the Boots on your team safe. Also, the max/max Attack and Speed investment feels out of place on a stall team that looks like it relies on hazards to make progress. If you replaced Tusk with a Gliscor, you could keep the Knock Off user while also patching up defensive holes in your team. Moreover, you can run spikes on Glisc, freeing up a spot on Clod for something like Amnesia or Rocks.

If you want actual advice, go join the Stall Empire Discord, but idk if I'm allowed to post discord links in here. Good luck on the ladder!!

Going to echo crane operator's comments on Tusk, I think it's bad here
You really need something to absorb ice beam as well, Blissey is ok but folds to mixed stuff like knock/psyshock darkrai and mixed valiant.
I also think talonflame is not it as its very prone to being knocked off by the things it wants to wall.
Try these instead
:sv/Corviknight:
Corviknight @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 124 SpD
Tera Type: Water
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- U-turn
- Roost
- Defog
Old ss spread as idk what the going sv spdf set is but this should work. Can still defog if you choose but it's main purpose is absorbing things that Dipplin doesn't want to take, like ice beam, earth power, toxic. These two make a good knock off absorbing core.
:sv/Alomomola:
Alomomola @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Tera Type: Flying
Relaxed Nature
- Tickle
- Flip Turn
- Wish
- Protect
Tickle mola with wish is going to be great for you to keep Dipplin alive longer, and help check things like Gouging Fire.

And finally last change :Blissey: Shadow Ball -> Heal Bell This will be great for your dipplin to 1v1 things like Gliscor where it can take a toxic and trade with Infestation, then get it down with syrup (in theory I have not done this yet) but then you can heal it later with bell. Also helps vs hex spam.
:Dipplin::Blissey::Dondozo::Clodsire::Alomomola::Corviknight: <- click for paste

EDIT: i forgot to mention but liquidation is probably the worst move choice on dozo so just pick any other one like waterfall, avalanche, body press
Also gliscor over corv is good if you want knock (you probably do)

In principle the idea of diplin stall seems fun to me but there are many things to deal with, one of them serious :Walking Wake: with :choice specs: +Tera Water manages to get through Blissey

252 SpA Choice Specs Protosynthesis Tera Water Walking Wake Hydro Steam vs. 4 HP / 252+ SpD Blissey in Sun: 290-342 (44.4 - 52.4%) -- 20.7% chance to 2HKO

Being able to control that is easy by choosing Tera Water:Blissey: , regarding movepool because you have clodsire as your wall against :gholdengo: it would be good to choose Stealth rock over Calm mind, another change would be Flamethrower for Shadow Ball, why? looking to burn the opponent like :Slowking-Galar: or :Gholdengo: is extremely valuable.

Change :talonflame: for :Corviknight: the team would appreciate having a bulky defoger

:sv/Corviknight:
Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 136 HP / 252 Def / 120 Spe
Impish Nature
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Roost
- Defog

This Speed is for Adamant :Kingambit: in games where :dondozo: will not always be able to come out and especially for :Ursaluna:

:sv/Gliscor:
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 244 HP / 12 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Spikes
- Protect
Gliscor SpD wall that works for Magma Storm, absorb knock off and place the spikes having a slot for :clodsire: choose Tera Dark to be prepared against for Psychic Noise and Future Sight enemy.

Some quick changes would be Avalanche over liquidation due to how usual it became :Loaded Dice: :Dragonite: being a huge problem for the Stall, Poison Jab over toxic in :Clodsire: having a better matchup against :Hatterene: and Bulldoze for Earthquake in a PP Stall fight although this is more to taste.

The time has come to talk about :Dipplin:, it is really crazy to stall him but not impossible, first of all the Tera and there are 2 Options here Tera Ice Tera Blast will allow you to fight against mon like :Gliscor: or :Landorus-Therian: while Tera Fly makes you immune to spikes, as I said, a matter of trying.

It's really fun to make this type of teams with Pokémon that are not very viable or that you thought you wouldn't see.
