Hello, WELCOME TO THE BEYBLADE THREAD! As you can spot from my pfp as of posting this, I am very obviously obsessed with it, casual or competitive scene.

I was initially considering using the sports flair, since they kinda market this as a gear sport nowadays, but I guess this better encapsulates the entire series.

This thread I hope would be about mostly the latest generation, the greatest generation, Beyblade X.

I hope for this to become something Xtrordinary.
 
The one guy who brings a beyblade stadium and multiple beyblades to school so that they can release all their anger about them failing school into it and not worrying about it until either the stadium or the beyblade breaks.
 
As a Pokémon Ranger fan, I require myself to mention how Beyblades reminded me of the Capture Styler's disc when I was younger. Aside from that oddly specific memory, I personally didn't grow up around the Beyblade craze but I suppose it looks pretty interesting. Seems like there's an under-appreciated angle of strategy and skill around these things that my pea sized brain is too incompetent to understand right away. I'd be open to learning more about this as time goes on- you never really know when something will pop up that you never knew you'd enjoy as much as you did when you finally try it out.
 
Ah Beyblade... 10/11/12 year old me's special interest aside from Pokémon. I remember going out to Walmart and seeing all the different starter packs... It brings back good memories.

I was really into the hobby from 2017-2019 with the Burst Era. I actually had a World Beyblade Organization account. Hell, I remember writing an SM Anipoke x Beyblade Fanfiction... Well, not fanfiction per se but more like Mary Sue Power Fantasy Crossover Edition. My Self Insert had a lot of tropes related to Mary Sues: Unbeatable, had a canon character his crush... I mean... I was 11 when I wrote it, I didn't know how to write good stories.

I have gotten out of the Beyblade Hobby ever since 2022, although I still play with my old collection from time to time for nostalgia.

Hopefully many will enjoy X the same way I enjoyed Burst.
 
Real, Beyblade X is probably the best generation so far in terms of competitive design. And this time they didn’t go bonkers with power creep like how they did in the last generations, look at Phoenix wing, it’s still on the top of the viability rankings after like more than a year of its release! The new systems didn’t completely replace the old ones either!

Beyblade has a smogon equivalent website as well, called the WBO, they don’t got the same competitive mindset as us tho, they think differently there, and even the most competitive people there look down at any tryhards like us smh.
 
went to a team tournament today, my first ever with random people I hardly know! but due to complications in life one of the planned teammates did not come, I fucked up the launches trying new things and it was as you might expect, an absolute disaster since I cant launch the combos my way for my teammates, which while would yield better results would defeat the purpose of the tournament. Don't even remind me of the drama it took to even enter bruh.

but hey, my individual tournament records are pretty stellar, kinda sorta.
 
I just came here to say that I liked Shu and Valt Aoi when I watched their anime when I was younger and coincidentally made me discover the lgbtq+ community (or gave me traces of it)? Crazy as it sounded but really, I did. Like when I was watching it when I was kid during 2017 or something and saw it on TV, I enjoyed the action scenes and thought I had a crush on Valt Aoi/Shu, or so I thought until I saw their friendship/connection develope (I watched the episodes sporadically so I can't remember much of the lore). And I don't know what made me think of it but I kind of wanted them to be together even though that was before I realised that societies standard of a couple at that time was composed of a man and a woman pairing only. But when I did discover the lgbtq+ community later on in my years, I suddenly remembered pairing Valt and Shu as one unconsciously in my head, hadn't checked if it's a popular ship or not (although it probably isn't ^^").

P.S. Sorry if one part sounded a bit homophobic or insensitive, I was just expresses on how I grew up and eventually became an ally to the community through unexpected ways ^^
