Biggest Aura Loss for a Pokemon

We all have Pokemon we think are cool. However, our opinions of these Pokemon are not static, and under the right circumstances that respect can be lost.

This can occur for a variety of reasons. I used to think the Alakazam line was really cool. I still do, to an extent. But after seeing a 3D Kadabra in Legends Arceus I definitely lost a lot of respect for the 'Zam, because Kadabra looked weird and buglike.

In early Sword and Shield VGC, there was a strategy that used Ribombee with Gigantamax Snorlax. Snorlax would set up with Belly Drum, use a berry to heal itself, and then Gmax and sweep. G-Max Replenish would also bring the berry back to keep it healthy. It was a menace. The only thing it was missing was Speed, which is where Ribombee would come in, using Speed Swap to make Snorlax also fast. Ribombee could also help to keep Snorlax healthy or check Fighting-type threats.

I went looking at some point for something similar I could try in Scarlet and Violet, maybe even with Belly Drum Snorlax again, only to learn that Ribombee doesn't get Speed Swap anymore.

was trick room an option, or is Lax not slow enough? I always try to pull of belly drum stats whenever possible because it's such a clear cut path for winning.

that reminds me, Steel losing it's resistance to Dark/Ghost made Psychic/Steel types lose some aura, and Normal types losing Return and being put on the backburner in general was auralosing.

This has to be one of the most egregious ones we've ever seen. Like, what am I even looking at here? It's not just the transition to 3D either. Archeops went from being used on the climactic endgame teams of N (in Black & White 1) and Iris (in Black & White 2) respectively to being used by... uh... checking a list Is there a single notable NPC that ever uses this thing post-Gen 5? Like, ever? Because I can't think of one, even in battle facilities.

:gs/typhlosion: :rs/typhlosion:

At first glance there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with Typhlosion in Gen 3. You can even use a Shadow Quilava in Pokémon Colloseum if you're into that sort of thing. Functionally this thing is almost unchanged from its Gen 2 iteration in battle, and if anything you were probably expecting me to list off Typhlosion in 3D because of the flames being removed from the whole evolution family. That's bad, but that's still not what I have an issue with. No. The real problem was what they did to this thing's Shiny, because HOLY CRAP they absolutely gutted this thing. In fact, does anyone know if there's a way to make those sprites Shiny? Those purple flames coming off of the Game Boy Color's limited color palette looks great and I have no idea why they changed it.

Oh, look at that, they brought the purple flames back. I wonder if this was on purpose or if it's just coincidence. I'd like to believe it was intentional.

For human characters... uh... let's see, I think Lance got a huge downgrade from HeartGold & SoulSIlver to Let's Go but that's honestly to be expected so I can't be too upset (unrelated, but I'm still confused why Let's Go Johto never became a thing) and I also think Ghetsis and Lusamine were both noticeably "nerfed" in the transitions to Black & White 2 and Ultra Sun & Moon respectively. Both of these characters peaked in their first iterations both in battle and visually.
