-Dat Intro
Greetings everyone! Welcome to my rmt, i hope you all enjoy it and rate it, as well as steal it!
The team i'm showing today is a team that i made when i saw that kyurem-black was released to OU. At first i thought that it was broken as shit(as i think everyone did), so i just needed to test it. I thought the team was not looking that good, but when i tested it on showdown, i peaked a pretty big number on the ranking of the ladder, that brought me to number 13 of the ranking. After that, i tested it a lot more, and i came to the result that i needed to post a RMT of it. Also, even thought the team is DragMag combo, the sets of the Pokémon took me a lot of time to think of, so please don't say something like "herpderp dragmag combo thats broken, that's not even a strategy" . So the title came on my mind due to the fact that kyurem-black is so fluffy and fragile, that it needs to be playing the seesaw while eating ice cream. The main point of the team is lead with Black Kyurem 90% of the time, kill as much things as possible, send out Scarf Mence and sweep. Hydreigon and Garchomp helps to make holes on a lot of teams, making them weak and easy to sweep with the scarf Mence. But without any other runaround let's look a little bit more about the team!

-Dat Teambuilding
Obviously, the first poké i chose was Kyurem-B, since i wanted to test it.

Alright, so i was thinking "what stops Kyurem-Black?". Then 3 Pokés came to my mind: Bronzong, Jirachi, and Ferrothorn. All of them being able to be 2KOed by specs Magnezone, and they get trapped, so yeah.

So now that i have a Magnezone, Skarmory will be also trapped by it, and i wanted to test Garchomp because it was also released to OU not a long time ago, so i put a Garchomp on it with a pretty cool set to help to dig as much holes as possible on the opponent's team.

There was still not a Revenge Killer on the team. The first thing that came in my head was Scarf Salamence, because not only he have a pretty good speed, being able to outspeed Scarf Genesect, but he also have the amazing ability Moxie, making him one of the best revenge killers in the OU metagame.

Now, there was obviously a lack of a special dragon, at first i thought of running latios, but after a LOT of kills from freaking pursuit users, i changed it to Hydreigon, who even tho doesn't have the same speed that Latios does, it still isn't weak to pursuit, and also packs focus blast and fire blast, which helps me a lot.

Hm, there is still one spot left. The team was looking REALLY weak to Mamoswine, so i put a Scizor on the last spot, but after getting swept by Stoutland, Mamoswine and Sandslash, i decided to put Bronzong, who does not only counter these pokes, it stops a lot of other Dragons that would be a pain to my dragons, and he can also set up Stealth Rocks.

~ Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Bag_Choice_Specs_Sprite.png

Nature; Modest (+Special Attack, -Attack)
[*]
Ability; Magnet Pull
[*]
EVs; EVs: 180 HP / 252 SAtk / 76 Spd
[*]
Moveset;

  • ElectricIC_Big.png
Volt Switch; Used to get some momentum as well as being able to KO things like Skarmory. It also helps to scout.
  • ElectricIC_Big.png
Thunderbolt; The main STAB, a powerful Specs Thunderbolt with modest and STAB will hurt something a lot.
  • FireIC_Big.png
Hidden Power Fire; Helps against Ferrothorn, allowing to get a clean 2KO.
  • SteelIC_Big.png
Flash Cannon; The secondary STAB, helping out against Dragon and Ground types.
In What it Helps
Magnezone stops most of the steel types(bronzong, jirachi, skarmory, forretress, ferrothorn, etc.), trapping and 2KOing them. He can also cause a lot of damage since he is specs, as well as he gives more sinergy for the team.
The EVs invested on Speed helps out against Jellicent and Politoed(because he have more speed than a politoed with no investment on speed, he needs 16 EVs on speed to outspeed my Magnezone, this is really helpful against Choice Politoed, because most of the Specs Politoeds run Max HP, then he can't outspeed my Magnezone, but if he does then he will be scarf 90% of the time).

~ Kyurem-B @ Choice Band
Bag_Choice_Band_Sprite.png

Nature; Adamant (+Attack, -Special Attack)
[*]
Ability; Teravolt
[*]
EVs; EVs: 20 HP / 252 Atk / 236 Spd
[*]
Moveset;

  • DragonIC_Big.png
Outrage; The main attack. You will be using it most of the time. When you use this and your opponent doesn't have a steel type, you already know that something is going to die.
  • DragonIC_Big.png
Dragon Claw; Dragon Claw is here when you know your opponent does have a Ground and a steel type on his team. You will use it to most of the time, force the opponent to bring in his Steel Type, then you go into manezone and kill it.
  • IceIC_Big.png
Freeze Shock; I know what you are thinking, but this actually already helped me in a lot of situations, like against a landorus-t, and seriously, kyurem-b will just need the 3 other moves most of the time to destroy the opponent's team, trust me.
  • ElectricIC_Big.png
Fusion Bolt; Even thought this is not STAB, it is still really helpful when you opponent doesn't have and electric resist, and it also OHKO Skarmory.
In What it Helps
Kyurem-Black is here to kill as much things as possible. Another cool thing is that unless the opponent hits him with a super effective move, he will take hits easilly, and kill more and more things.
He have 236 Speed EVs because they will make him outspeed jolly mamoswine by 1 EV, which can win you the game sometimes. With the speed he can also outspeed Lucario, Breloom, Adamant Landorus-t, etc.

..........

Garchomp%2B08.png
~ Garchomp @ Yache Berry
Bag_Yache_Berry_Sprite.png

Nature; Adamant (+Attack, -Special Attack)
[*]
Ability; Rough Skin
[*]
EVs; EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
[*]
Moveset;

  • DragonIC_Big.png
Outrage; Really Powerful STAB that will be used most of the time after a +2. Also helpful for bluffing the choice scarf.
  • GroundIC_Big.png
Earthquake; Earthquake is the most powerful Ground type attack, it will be used as the second STAB.
  • FireIC_Big.png
Fire Fang;Fire Fang is here because it is just so awesome when i Earthquake, they send out Forretres, then i show that i am actually not choiced, and easilly kill it. The move is really helpful because with the combination of Swords Dance, it can 2KO Skarmory, OHKO Forretress and Ferrothorn, as well as bluffing the choice scarf.
  • NormalIC_Big.png
Swords Dance; With the Swords Dance, Garchomp will be a pain to any opponent. With it, Garchomp will be able to do a lot of damage.
In What it Helps
Garchomp is here to make as much holes on the opponent's team as possible, or even sweep sometimes. Bluffing the choice item with the Yache Berry is just so good, they send out Genesect, use Ice Beam, and then get killed by Fire Fang. Mamoswine will be having pain with that as well, taking an Outrage from an Adamant Garchomp to the face.

..........

Butler_Salamence.jpg
~ Salamence @ Choice Scarf
20090904074844%21Bag_Choice_Scarf_Sprite.png

Nature; Naive (+Speed, -Special Defense)
[*]
Ability; Moxie
[*]
EVs; EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
[*]
Moveset;

  • DragonIC_Big.png
Outrage; Mosf of the times you are going to use this and sweep. The STAB powerful Outrage with the aumount of attack that Salamence have will be painful to any opponent.
  • GroundIC_Big.png
Earthquake; Can be helpful For Heatran and jirachi, as well as some other pokémon.
  • FireIC_Big.png
Fire Blast;Fire Blast can make some surprise kills against scarf genesect(since you outspeed it by 8 points), it also helps for Ferrothorn and stuf like that.
  • DragonIC_Big.png
Dragon Claw; Dragon claw is here for the same reason that it is on Kyurem-B's set.
In What it Helps
Salamence is the end game sweeper. He will just come when everything is almost dead, and outrage / dragon claw everything. Naive is, as already said, to outspeed Genesect and being able to OHKO it with Fire Blast.

..........

hydreigon_used_flamethrower_by_uncognoscente-d4194vw.png
~ Hydreigon @ Choice Specs
Bag_Choice_Specs_Sprite.png

Nature; Modest (+Special Attack, -Attack)
[*]
Ability; Levitate
[*]
EVs; EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
[*]
Moveset;

  • DragonIC_Big.png
Draco Meteor; Draco will be the most used move from this guy, it will most of the time do a shit ton of damage on anything that takes it.
  • FightingIC_Big.png
Focus Blast; Helps out against Tyranitar, Heatran, Blissey / Chansey, as well as other stuff.
  • FireIC_Big.png
Fire Blast; The main move to use against Ferrothorn, Forretress and Jirachi.
  • DarkIC_Big.png
Dark Pulse; The second STAB, when you do not want to get a -2 from the Draco you will be using this most of the time.

In What it Helps
Hydreigon is the second Pokémon that helps out digging more holes against the opponent's team. It just enters in the field, drops off a Draco, and switch out or die most of the time.

..........

Lucian_Bronzong.png
~ Bronzong @ Leftovers
Bag_Leftovers_Sprite.png

Nature; Relaxed (+Defense, -Speed)
[*]
Ability; Levitate
[*]
EVs; EVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 60 SDef
[*]
IVs; EVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def / 0 Spd
[*]
Moveset;

  • SteelIC_Big.png
Gyro Ball; The main move to use if Bronzong needs to attack, which is to be honest pretty powerful with the combination of 0 spd and -speed nature.
  • IceIC_Big.png
Hidden Power Ice; Really useful against dragon types in general.
  • GroundIC_Big.png
Earthquake; Really helpful against Keldeo, just so he can't get a sub up, and also to not be a setup fodder against Magnezone, as well as hitting Jirachi and Heatran.i.
  • RockIC_Big.png
Stealth Rock; Helps out against Focus Sash users and things like Dragonite.
In What it Helps
Bronzong helps covering the team's biggest threats, like Mamoswine, Sandslash, Stoutland, Alakazam, Tornadus-T. He can also set up rocks, which is allways good.

-How to Battle with the team against Most Strategies

Hyper Offense
Most of the time, they will be running suicide mew / azelf, or a Deoxys-D. Lead with Kyurem-Black, if his team have a ground type, use outrage, if he doesn't, use Fusion Bolt. Try to kill the steel type as fast as possible(most likely will be a jirachi or a gentesect), and then just use your dragon strong moves to win. Most of the time it will be a Mence sweep.

Balance
Peace of cake. Lead with Kyurem-B, outrage, let it die, sent out either Hydreigon or Garchomp, do more damage, then sweep with mence.

Rain Balance / Stall
They WILL run either a jirachi or a ferrothorn on the team. Lead with Kyurem, and try to catch the steel type on the switch in with magnezone as fast as possible. Then just have fun with outrage and draco everything.

Rain Hyper Offense
It will be a pain to deal. Just be careful with descovering the scarf Pokémon, and when you discover it, kill it and then kill everything with Mence.

Sun
This one is just so easy to deal with, you don't even know. Lead with garchomp, they will lead with ninetales, go for Earthquake, if the opponent have a xau, switch do black kyurem and kill something(because normally when they run xatu they will not run a steel type, just something like a genesect, which takes 89% from cb outrage). If he have a Forretress, stay in and surprise the opponent with the fire fang. Be careful with the venusaur / Victreebel, don't let they get too many boosts, and it will be easy.

Hail
Lead with Black Kyurem, and just outrage. Even if he have a Jirachi, it will be taking some good damage, and i'm pretty sure they will only run one or two steel reists, so just play around with specs Hydreigon and CB Kyurem, they will be the MVP of the show

Baton Pass
BLACK FUCKING KYUREM, Dragon / FUSION BOLT(if the opp have a scizor) EVERYTHING TO DEATH. Baton Pass teams can't get too much boosts on the defense on the commence of the game, so black kyurem should wreck evrything on this one. OR USE SPECS ZONE AND TBOLT EVERYTHING. a lot of bp teams are weak to that.

Sandstorm
Save the zong for the stoutland / alakazam / sandslash. Lead with Garchomp, and wreck shit, or if they run Hippowdown, lead with Hydreigon and wreck shit.

Biggest threats of the Team, And how to deal with them

Focus Sash Alakazam
Can be a real pain. Save zong's health as much as possible, because whitout it, a lot of things are going to die. Break the sash and revenge with mence, or just wall it with Bronzong.

Rock Polish Genesect
If this gets a +2 and the black kyurem isnt at at least 60% of HP, it is game. That's why you gotta save some HP, he will be able to take a bug buzz and Fusion Bolt on it.

Terrakion
Terrakion in general can be a pain. Scout the set as fast as possible, and if he's scarf Bronzong walls it, if he's banded Mence will revenge kill. If he's sub Sd break the sub with zong, sacrifice something, and kill with Mence, or just stay in with Bronzong if he's salac berry.

YOU!
Yeah, you are such a big threat, you don't even know. Why? Now you do know my team and all of my sets, and you're going to counter team me. you little bitch ;-; jkjk.

Last Words and Importable

GOD DAMN that took me a lot of time to do. Just wanna say that the team is really offensive, so no i will be not considering any spinner or Magic Bouncer, because he just don't need it. Also i'm sorry if i have any gramatic errors, i'm brazilian, and still don't know 100% of english :].

I hope you guys enjoyed the rmt and please test the team out!

Having just tried the team myself, seems to be a solid Drag Mag team. I really feel you should run a life orb user, probably over specs Hydreigon who I feel pulls his weight the least. A bulky LO Latias would not be a bad idea, it handles rain teams in general quite well as a bonus.

Latias @ Life Orb
Modest
152 HP / 176 SpA / 180 Spe
~ Draco Meteor
~ Surf
~ Roost
~ Hidden Power Fire / Refresh

You could also run 252 SpA / 252 Spe if you do not care as much about bulk, but st that point you should just run LO Latios.

Hey man cool team but I would also suggest running Life Orb on Hydreigon instead of Specs it's just a much better so atleast give it a try. Also you already have 3 other Choice'd pokemon and it's not fun having to switch out a lot if hazards are on your field. Anyways here's the set good luck!

635.gif

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild/Rash Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Superpower
- Roost/Dark Pulse

I'm gonna punch a baby the next time I see someone using Freeze Shock on Kyurem-B.

I'm joking. But seriously, Freeze Shock is bad. If I were to use CB Kyurem-B, I would always run Sleep Talk as the filler move; Freeze Shock is useless, Sleep Talk isn't. Freeze Shock is a two-turn move that is easily taken advantage of, while with Sleep Talk, you can at least switch in on Spore from Breloom/Amoonguss.

Anyway, I know you said this team is offensive, but I just don't get why you're not using a spinner. First, Kyurem-B is weak to all entry hazards, especially Stealth Rock. Second, Salamence is weak to Stealth Rock. You have two Stealth Rock weak Pokemon. I see no reason to not run a spinner, which is why I think you should run Forretress > Bronzong. I rarely suggest Forretress, but I don't know what other options you have. Forretress can spin, while still setting up Stealth Rock for your team. I would use this set:

Forretress @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Gyro Ball
- Volt Switch

This is not set in stone (you can run Shed Shell to fuck up Magnezone, or HP Ice with some Special Attack investment to 2HKO Gliscor), but it should probably end up looking something like this. Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock are the only non-negotiable moves.

Good luck.

Some observations:

1. Freeze Shock is a terrible choice on any Kyurem-B set, even worse in a CB set. Using it gives your opponent plenty of time to react and switch to a bulky water after its Lando-T / Gliscor / whatever switches in. If it switches to a faster threat instead, you are doomed to death which is bad since he WILL do that as soon as he realize that you're carrying Freeze Shock. The obvious solution here is to run Ice Beam (with a neutral nature), since STAB uninvested Ice Beam comfortably OHKOs everything you may be concerned about, Dragonite, Gliscor, all Landoruses, all Genies in general after SR, and just to give an idea of its power, it deals 60% minimum to Tinkerbell Celebi, and is guaranteed to 2HKO physically defensive Skarmory after SR. Uninvested and unboosted by any item. Indeed impressive.

2. Your team is very weak to Fighting attacks coming from things faster than Garchomp (which should run a Jolly nature, to avoid being raped by all Genesects, DDMence, and generally by the 100 base speed bracket). CB Terrakion for example can switch in after something dies and start spamming Close Combat; your only resistance is Salamence, which unfortunately takes 53% minimum, thus can switch in only once. After that, Terrakion just 6-0s you by spamming CC. Specs / CM Keldeo are somewhat similar, and if they carry HP Ice / Icy Wind they can single handedly dispose of all your team since Mence cannot OHKO with Outrage after SR. To fix this I suggest switching from Specs Hydreigon to Scarf Latios. While punching holes with Draco Meteor is surely helpful, having one, single revenge killer with low bulk and as your only resistance to Fighting is indeed dangerous in my opinion; Kyurem-B is probably good enough to punch holes alone, with Specs Zone to aid it. Latios can destroy all kinds of Terrakions and Keldeo with Psyshock (and even odd things like Mienshao, that could destroy your team alone. Yeah, HP Ice + HJK LO Mienshao can 6-0 you at the moment if he predicts the Mence switchin...), can surprise genesect with HP Fire and can generally absorb Fighting attacks. Okay, it's Pursuit bait, but everything that uses Pursuit is a good sight for your team since you can switch in Kyurem and start breaking down everything. Latios can even run Trick to somehow cripple walls and Pursuit users, so it retains part of the "wallbreaking" ability of Hydreigon.

381.png

Latios @ Choice Scarf | Levitate
Timid | 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- HP Fire
- Surf / Trick

Hope my rate helped. Good luck.

Though not commonly used, porygon2+evolite can rip the whole team apart, scoring 6:0.

It's not ohkoed by CB outrage, can paralyze and deal damage. Kyurem B can't take 3 hits from +1 ice beams, mence/garchomp is ohko, hydreigon is just a setul fodder.

I've met this party and ripped it away with P2. don't rely on base stats. but on setups.

Hello, first of all let me say that this is a beautiful RMT to read, good solid team Magdrag making good use of Kyurem-B, do not have much to say, I suggest you just change the spread of the EVS to Magnezone 148 HP 252 Spatk 108 Spd is not needed all that HP and with a little more HP it will be much more useful, I agree with your ganj4lF really suffers Fighting against Breloom and Terrakion can cause serious problems by agreeing with him that also suggest the exchange Hydreigon by a Latios.
Team Nice!
Luvdiscd!

Breloom will kill most of your team. Spore/SD/Bullet/Mach Punch variants will destroy you outright, especially when paired with Mamoswine, and Sashed variants will troll you all day.

DragMag is awesome, but it has some very obvious weaknesses. I'd suggest changing Salamence to a EBelt/LO DDance version, and swapping Chomp out for Balloon Heatran.

490.png

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Magma Storm
-Toxic/Will O' Wisp
-Taunt
-Earth Power

This BalloonTran will also function as a status trapper for Weather starters by poisoning/burning on the switch, then trapping with Magma Storm. It is also another effective way to trap things like Genesect that Magnezone has issues with (Scarfed Flamethrower) or other Heatran (Weak to Fire and x4 to Ground) which will make your Dragon sweep more efficient, and also allows for a bit of padding to that Dragon weakness you have and beats Mamoswine pretty easily.

As for Breloom (and Terrakion as well), while Bronzong isn't a bad choice, another pokemon shares his typing and is definitely more fun. I'm of course referring to Jirachi.

385.png

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe
Careful Nature
-Body Slam
-Iron Head
-Wish
-Stealth Rock

Specially Defensive Jirachi with Stealth Rock support and ParaFlinch Hax and Wish support. Dragon Sponge, Fighting Sponge and can really mess up Terrakion.

Just my two cents.

tl;dr
Garchop<Heatran
Bronzong<Jirachi

I have a quick suggestion, and that is to put thunder over thunderbolt on magnezone. If volt switch isn't gonna kill whatever your target is, chances are you're gonna want to have thunder's extra power. Besides, thunder punishes all those rain teams running around.

Ok, so I have played your team for the past few days (I really enjoy its build) and I have found some construction criticism for you.

First and most importantly, Kyurem-B should have Sleep Talk over Freeze Shock. Freeze Shock is just too unreliable, while Sleep Talk allows you to have Breloom fodder that will surprise KO variants that use Swords Dance.

Next, Garchomp desperately needs to be Jolly instead of Adamant. Garchomp's speed tier is just too good to discard its amazing speed, and the things you can outspeed, like max speed Jirachi, are just too important.

The next change I recommend is a bit more subjective, but I found that Hydreigon never really pulled his weight and certain scarf threats, especially landorus, could rip right through the team late game. To resolve this, I suggest that Choice Scarf Latios is used over Hydreigon as its ability to outspeed all Terrakion, Mixxed Kingdra in the rain, and any +1 dragon reliably is too good to pass up. Here is the set I would use below:

Latios (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Dragon Pulse / Hidden Power [Fire]

Personally I find little use for Hidden Power [Fire] with Magnezone around, but you may disagree with me and its really just a matter of preference. Thanks for sharing your team and know that I have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of using a variant of it myself.

30 Atk / 30 Def / 0 Spe IVs won't get you HP Ice.

The Combinations for HP Ice are as follows: (E being Even, O being Odd)

O/O/O/O/O/E
O/E/E/O/O/O
E/O/E/O/O/O

So the best would be 31/31/31/31/31/0 if you really want lowest speed, but that will reduce your Power to 64. If you want HP 70, then use 31/31/31/31/31/2
