Quality Control Blissey 1/2

[OVERVIEW]
Blissey is a good special wall that is able to check some of the metagame's strong special attackers like Choiced Basculegion-F, Power Herb Diancie, and Armarouge with Tera Dark. Blissey provides useful utility moves to its team like Thunder Wave, Stealth Rock, and Heal Bell and can pressure the opposition with Seismic Toss. Natural Cure ensures that Blissey can shrug off Toxic from Pokemon like Umbreon. Blissey tends to be run on bulkier teams or stall teams that effectively cover its weaknesses to physical attackers and even certain special attackers. Blissey is an integral piece of these teams; it counters some of the powerful special attackers of the tier more effectively than anything else. Despite this, Blissey can still be taken advantage of by the tier's numerous physical attackers and even some special attackers. Bisharp, Crawdaunt, and Breloom are just a few of the tier's physical attackers that can easily take advantage of Blissey. Additionally, some Ground-types do not even fear Thunder Wave from Blissey like Krookodile, Rhyperior, and Torterra. Lastly, despite being specially bulky, Blissey can be overpowered by powerful special attackers. Toxtricity, Armarouge, Porygon-Z, Gengar, and Tornadus can all set up and overpower Blissey with Drain Punch, Psyshock, or Nasty Plot-boosted attacks. Even Toxtricity sets without Drain Punch, deal too much damage with Tera Normal Boomburst for Blissey to recover it off.

Seismic Toss gives Blissey a consistent way to deal damage. Thunder Wave is the preferred option so that Pokemon such as Terrakion do not come in against Blissey freely. Blissey is an effective Stealth Rock user given the tier's limited options for hazard removal, and that it beats Noivern and Cyclizar, which are the tier's primary options for hazard removal. Heal Bell restores Blissey's team from the tier's status inducers such as Poison Touch Alolan Muk, Toxic Umbreon, and Scald Slowbro. It is additionally useful to cure the sleep from Rest users like Alolan Muk and Suicune on Blissey's team. Calm Mind helps Blissey counter strong special attackers like Nasty Plot Porygon-Z, Toxtricity, and Armarouge, especially when paired with Blissey's Tera type. Tera Dark is primarily useful for countering Psyshock Armarouge but it also gives Blissey an immunity to Psychic Noise and lets it check Calm Mind Reuniclus when using Calm Mind itself. Tera Ghost provides an immunity against Fighting- and Normal-type attacks like Focus Blast from Gengar and Tornadus, Body Press from Magnezone, and Drain Punch and Boomburst from Toxtricity. Additionally, it is useful against PerishTrap Politoed to avoid being trapped. Heavy-Duty Boots prevent Blissey from being whittled down by entry hazards.

Blissey is often used on bulky Spikes stack and stall teams. This helps Blissey wear down its physical checks that lack recovery like Terrakion whilst it is unharmed by entry hazards with its Heavy-Duty Boots. Chesnaught, Quagsire, and Gastrodon can all set up Spikes or Stealth Rock to wear down the opposition. Additionally, these physically defensive walls help cover physical attackers like Bisharp for Blissey. To cover Blissey's Fighting weakness, pairing it with a bulky Fighting resist like Reuniclus, Slowbro, or Galarian Slowbro does a good job. The Toxic immunity of Magic Guard Reuniclus and Galarian Slowbro is also useful for switching into Pokemon like Umbreon and Quagsire that Blissey cannot do anything against. Knock Off users like Chesnaught, Cyclizar, and Alolan Muk help remove Heavy-Duty Boots for Blissey's Stealth Rock to have an effect. Slower wallbreakers like Crawdaunt and Toxtricity appreciate Blissey spreading Thunder Wave against faster Pokemon. Umbreon checks Armarouge and Agility Basculegion-F for Blissey. Alolan Muk can switch into Knock Off and Toxic users like Cyclizar and Bellibolt that Blissey does not want to take on. Alolan Muk is also common and takes advantage of Blissey easily, so packing your own answer to it like Vileplume or your own RestTalk Alolan Muk is helpful. Hisuian Goodra is an effective check to Toxtricity and Ghost-types like Gengar and Basculegion-F that Blissey cannot hit. Palossand checks Terrakion and counters most Toxtricity sets for Blissey.

Shadow Ball is a solid option that ensures Blissey can deal damage to Ghost types like Gengar and Basculegion-F. Shadow Ball pairs especially well with Calm Mind ensuring that Blissey counters setup boosting Ghost-types like Gengar and Pokemon that Terastallize into Ghost-types in order to take advantage of Blissey specifically. Healing Wish is particularly good to use with setup sweepers and wallbreakers that tend to get worn down like Necrozma, Bisharp, and Flamigo. Trick is useful to prevent Choiced Trick users like Gengar and Gardevoir from ruining Blissey, and it has other potential uses such as taking an item from the opposing team after Blissey has had its Heavy-Duty Boots removed by Knock Off. Leftovers can give Blissey more passive healing and negate the damage of Suicune's Scald burn, but Heavy-Duty Boots is generally preferable due to the strength of hazards in the tier. Tera Psychic gives Blissey a middle ground between Tera Ghost and Tera Dark; it lets Blissey resist Psyshock and Fighting moves at the same time but it is less efficient than either Tera individually.

Checks and Counters
====

**Physical Attackers**: Blissey's poor Defense stat means that any strong physical attacker can rip right through it. Terrakion, Gallade, and Crawdaunt all outspeed and threaten to OHKO Blissey, but they do not like switching into Thunder Wave or Seismic Toss. Setup sweepers like Necrozma, Dragon Dance Regidrago, and Bisharp can use Blissey as an opportunity to set up, and the former two may even carry Lum Berry impeding Thunder Wave. Ground-types like Krookodile and Torterra do not fear Thunder Wave can set up against Blissey.

**Certain Special Attackers**: Armarouge will defeat Blissey with Psyshock unless it Terastallizes into a Dark-type. Toxtricity can defeat Blissey with Drain Punch and even if it lacks the move, it can put immense pressure on Blissey with a Tera Normal Boomburst, hitting Blissey for a little less than half of its health. Blissey usually does not run a move to hit Ghost-types, so Gengar can set Nasty Plot against Blissey without fearing damage. Porygon-Z with Nasty Plot and Recover, will beat non-Calm Mind Blissey, and it can even Terastallize into a Ground-type to block Thunder Wave. Venusaur can boost quickly with Growth under Sun, and due to Giga Drain healing restoring so much health against Blissey, it can defeat Blissey but Venusaur's Chlorophyll boost can be effectively negated by Thunder Wave.

**Other Defensive Pokemon**: Blissey is mostly incapable of beating other defensive Pokemon with recovery moves. Reuniclus, Quagsire, Gastrodon, and Slowbro don't have much to fear from Blissey whilst they can set up Calm Mind or hazards against Blissey. RestTalk Alolan Muk has longevity and can easily switch into Blissey and threaten it. Chesnaught takes advantage of Blissey to set up Spikes and threatens it with Body Press.

**Taunt and Psychic Noise**: Noivern sets with Taunt and Super Fang can defeat Blissey and prevent it from recovering. Ribombee as well as some Noivern and Gardevoir sets run Psychic Noise which prevents Blissey from healing.

Looking good, a few names using the wrong style and a few additions and QC 1/2!
