Blissey

The removal of Blissey will more likely mean an increase (albeit a small one) of special sweepers. Notably Raikou and Mismagius (although Missy would run Nasty Plot more). Also, Porygon-Z doesn't need extreme lengths. 2 Nasty Plots and Tri Attack would 3HKO if I'm not mistaken.

The removal of Blissey will also drastically decrease usage of stall teams. Due to this, offensive teams may reign the metagame and everything will probably be revenge kill this, bait this, revenge kill that, etc...

That's my theory. But, I think this thread is a great idea. Why? Because what other Pokemon effects the metagame more than Blissey? If we remove Blissey from the metagame, then the whole metagame would obviously change. While it is a much better pick over suspect Salamence (in my opinion).

Also, others are stating how special sweepers will dominate the metagame in the abscence of Blissey. This is not entirely true at all. Are you saying that if your team does not consist of Blissey, your team is weak to special sweepers?

While observing the usage statistics we observe that a lot of special sweepers lack usage. This is probably most notably because of Blissey. Thus, in the abscence of Blissey, these special attackers are more viable to use (which is a good thing).

i believe blissey is one of the most annoying pokemons, and id love him to be banned because without him it will be much more enjoyable instead to stay 40 minutes killing blissey with 3 diferent poks.
stall is the worst type of play that could ever exist.

This may be my personal opinion coming into this, but what's the harm in testing blissey? I mean it don't think it'll significantly damper any schdule Smogon or the Suspect ladder is following. On top of this, it allows us to explore the metagame much more. There are so many "what if" situations here and predictions coming about and honnestly, the removal of a gargantuan fat pink blob which walls the special spectrum like a beast would be an interesting test to conduct. We have nothing to lose (except for stall teams xD) and fair bit of information to gain.

Banning a Pokemon just because it affects the metagame the most isn't a very wise decision as you'll eventually start banning random shit that starts affecting it after Blissey leaves, and you can't make banning the one Pokemon that affects it the most a one time thing.

Blissey isn't the only thing that makes special sweepers unviable. Scizor can take down most with a single attack. Many can't hurt other special walls such as Tyranitar. Some just suck, have terrible typing, movepool etc.

Blissey is a huge threat to a team with no way of taking it down without stalling and that is your fault as Blissey is a top tier wall and you should definitely have a way to combat it.

Agreed.

When building a team we never try to look over situations where Blissey and stall teams coexist. But, in the absence of Blissey we are able to. And this can drastically change the current metagame.

This thread seems to have forgotten it's original purpose and is slowly (rapidly) going downhill in terms of quality.

In addition, if you are going to make arguments that a certain Pokemon is uber or suspect, please try to make it in a manner where you can't replace the Pokemon's name and a few words to make the same argument. (i.e. "Blissey is a huge threat to a team with no way of taking it down without stalling and that is your fault as Blissey is a top tier wall and you should definitely have a way to combat it.")
