Offensive Pivot (Miraidon) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Hadron Engine
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Draco Meteor
- Electro Drift
- Overheat
[SET COMMENTS]
Miraidon is a great offensive pivot that is able to force plenty of switches due to its high Speed and incredible firepower. Heavy-Duty Boots allows Miraidon to continuously threaten the opposing team without accruing entry hazard damage. U-turn scouts for potential switches and generates momentum for teammates and is chosen over Volt Switch for the ability to pivot out against Ground-types like Ting-Lu and Clodsire. Overheat hits Iron Treads for super effective damage and alleviates predictions against teams with both Ground-types and Dragon-resistant foes, notably being a safe midground option against Corviknight and chipped Great Tusk. Tera Dragon maximizes Draco Meteor damage and increases the chances of breaking through Clodsire and Ting-Lu while also allowing Miraidon to beat Dugtrio that attempt to trap it. Trapping support from Gothitelle and Dugtrio is greatly appreciated, allowing Miraidon to bypass its limited pool of checks with ease. Koraidon, Great Tusk, Chien-Pao, and Iron Bundle are all great partners for their ability to threaten Miraidon's checks and provide opportunities for wallbreaking by forcing in Pokemon like Corviknight and Toxapex. In return, they benefit greatly from Miraidon's ability to generate momentum and bring them in safely to threaten its own checks. A strong defensive backbone is helpful to make the most of the longevity provided by Heavy-Duty Boots, so defensive Pokemon like Toxapex, Corviknight, and Clodsire are potent teammates that also check revenge killers like Choice Scarf Koraidon, Iron Bundle, and Chien-Pao. Fellow pivots like Iron Bundle, Koraidon, and Corviknight create potent VoltTurn cores with Miraidon that can wear down the opponent and give Miraidon the most opportunities. Entry hazard support from Ting-Lu or Clodsire allows Miraidon to wear down and outlast its checks, especially in tandem with VoltTurn support, so Gholdengo and Annihilape are valuable partners for their ability to deter Defog and Rapid Spin.
