Okay, the Mega Slowbro + Terrakion combo is obviously for stall; Future Sight forces in a special wall, and Terrakion forces in a physical wall, eliminating said wall. Moltres is my funny way of checking Mega Altaria and Scizor. Krook is the speed control and Ground-type, and it's something to threaten Mega Manectric. Mowtom is great at combating rockers and has Grassium Z to pressure them. Empoleon is the rocker and standard answer to Latias and friends. It sets rocks, toxics, standard stuff. That's it.
Get your cores in by Thursday, friends, and please do not take shifts into account if they happen this week. This means you can't submit Mega Diancie or whatever if it drops.
Electrium Z Latias is one of the top threats for this team, as the only check once Empoleon is lured is Krookodile, which doesn't OHKO with Knock Off. I chose Primarina for the partner, as it appreciates Empoleon being lured to wreck havoc. Overrall, this core is rather self-explanatory.
Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Shadow Bone
- Bonemerang
- Stealth Rock
The thing that can be noticed right away is that Serp has a field day against this team with only answer to it being Moltres which dies to +2 Z-Hyper Beam after taking a Leaf Storm and the rocks damage. Only thing to do is insure the rocks staying up which is accomplished by A-Wak since it gets them up freely in Rotom's face.
Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
Scarf Ape and Mega Manectric give this team a lot of problems and form a pretty solid and formidable VoltTurn duo that can definitely wear this team down pretty well combined with stealth rocks and other hazards. Scarf Ape definitely places pressure on Rotom-C, Empoleon, Krook, and Terrak with STAB Flare Blitz and Close Combat. M-Manectric is there to deal with Mega Bro, Moltres, and Emploleon and can even revenge kill Terrak and Rotom-C if need be.
Oh also I'd like to announce that Accelgor will be returning as a guest co-host for the project until the end of July, as IRL is gonna be somewhat busier for me during that period. Welcome back, friend!
This is actually a tough vote because all these cores are good. The alowak makes me dislike the serp core leaving electrium lati and volt turn. I have to vote Juuno here. Nice work!
Krookodile @ Groundium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Pursuit
- Taunt
Fun little offense team built around maximizing Mienshao's strengths as a scarfer, namely its strong HJK, ability to threaten Gliscor, and Knock Off / U-turn utility. Volcanion helps wear down Scarf Latias with Toxic and Protect, also annoying common bulky waters like Suicune that might switch into it. Also my most reliable Scizor check. Aggron sets rocks, tanks stuff that Steel types need to, and Curse can keep opposing SD Gliscor in check in case Mienshao missed HJK or Gliscor is too healthy to revenge. AV Serperior is very nice for luring things like Mega Manectric and Kyurem on this team that would otherwise struggle with them, as well as just generally being an awesome win con. Togekiss acts as a breaker for more defensive teams as well as a Scizor lure in the offensive matchup. I've opted for Defog to ease the MU vs spikestack, but you won't really click it that often. Krookodile rounds out the team with a Volt immunity, trapper, strong general purpose nuke, and Taunt to keep walls weakened for show and my rocks up. The team is very offensive and will end games quickly, so the lack of recovery or sustainability doesn't hurt it too much. Hope you enjoy breaking it, I'm sure there are ways to :p
Please aim to submit your cores by this Thursday, and also remember not to include any of the potential drops (ex. Mega Diancie) in your submissions. Good luck!
Stallbreaker Toge and Double Dance Gliscor is a pain in the ass for this team. Toge pretty much sets up on the majority of the team bar Aggron who constantly gets worn down by +2 Air Slash and even Krook if it let's Toge come in for free. Toge also can take hit pretty well from both Mienshao and Serp and OHKO them back with a Air Slash. Gliscor pretty much can setup for free on Krook if it gets a free switch in from a EQ / Groundium Z and get a easy +2. Tectonic Rage deals with M-Aggron effectively at +2 and Gliscor is 3HKO'd by Mienshao while Gliscor gets a kill at +2.
Fightinium Togekiss was the immediate thing I thought of to break this team, as it takes care of Aggron and basically 6-0s the team since the Krookodile isn't Stone Edge. As a partner I decided on my favorite mon, Aerodactyl, as it can wreck havoc once Aggron is lured. The only secure check once it is lured is Krookodile, which gets 2HKOed by Ice Fang and isn't Scarf. Roost > Pursuit is used here since it doesn't really benefit Togekiss too much against this type of team.
np ape literally kills the entire team at +2 bar meinshao if it's healthy, so i just slapped a togekiss on there. The only thing that outspeeds ape is shao and serp, and serp does virtually nothing back to it and dies to a +2 fire blast.
Salazzle has a great match-up versus this team. It can find opportunities to set up on Serperior or on a Choice locked HP Ice from Mienshao, pretty much OHKOing every member after some chip damage. It becomes even more potent after finding out Krook isn't Choice Scarfed (which is an option looking at this team at first). But those chances aren't really easy to happen, which makes me pick my second mon: Rotom-C
Rotom-C can abuse the lack of a Dragon Pokémon to threaten most of the team with its STABs, besides one member: Serperior. With that in mind, one well-timed Volt Switch and you can bring in Salazzle versus Serperior - A phenomenal position to fire off its STABs or even set up. Not only that: It defeats the teams defogger, being able to keep rocks off the field for Salazzle, helping its longevity.
Probably a Specs Salazzle set would work as well, seeing as the Fire resist is weak to rocks.
I'm going to vote for Kitten Milk. NP Nape is really lethal against this kind of builds. Not really digging the spdef kiss but I feel that people should use that infernape set more.
