Breloom Discussion (yaaaay)

Okay, the final set listed has amazing EVs. I've been meaning to figure out what Breloom needs to not be 2HKO'd by TTar, that's it. Of course, that set is fine but it isn't using Breloom to it's full potential.

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Adamant Nature *EVs from above*
-Substitute
-Leech Seed
-Spore/Seed Bomb
-Focus Punch/Mach Punch
Completely decimates TTar no matter what attack you run. Poison Heal means as long as it goes last Substitute is healed before the next turn (.125+.125=.25). Focus Punch allows you to hurt everything besides Ghost-types, which you Seed to death. Spore vs Seed Bomb is preference, Spore incapacitates Gengar but Seed Bomb kills all Waters and Grounds. It's too bad it shares the 4x weak to Flying with Heracross, elsewhise it would be on almost every team.

What about Snatch?

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
252 Atk/252 Spd/4 HP
Adamant (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Snatch
- Seed Bomb
- Sky Uppercut
- Leech Seed/Spore/Stone Edge

Preferrably you'll snatch a speed boost (the cream of the crop would be a Dragon Dance, especially from Tyranitar). Alternatively, you could switch this in on an Tyranitar and Seed/Spore on the switch - I recommend Seed because it will let you Snatch something.

Get whatever and then proceed to sweep with your +6 Special Attack/Defense/Speed. SE for type coverage.

Hm... I've been thinking of using Breloom as a supreme TTar and Rhyperior counter. Seed Bomb owns both of them, although you probably want Brick Break.

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Adamant Nature *236 HP, 52 ATK, 204 DEF, 16 SPD*
-Seed Bomb
-Brick Break/Mach Punch
-Spore
-Substitute/Protect
Enough Speed to outspeed neutral Rhyperiors. Enough defense to survive an Adamant Max Attack Rhyperior's STAB move twice (42~49%). Megahorn is a 2HKO. Seed Bomb fails to 2HKO Max/Max+ Rhyperior, but definitely 2HKO's Max/Min and Min/Min. Spore is because it's not Breloom if you ditch Spore. Brick Break always OHKO's TTar, which is important because it can outspeed you. Mach Punch and Seed Bomb 2HKO TTar, but Mach Punch outspeeds TTar no matter how many speed boosts it has. Sub or Protect is hard. In Sandstorm, Substitute isn't very effective while Protect allows you to recover HP.

I'm really considering this and would like some constructive criticism.

Go with Mach Punch and Protect. Mach Punch destroys Weavile and Protect is really cool for getting some HP back, especially if there's no Sandstorm in play. Also helps to activate Toxic Orb.

Your set would make a pretty good starter. Seed Bomb to crap on Swampert, Mach Punch for Weavile and Protect to scout CB/CS attacks. Protecting against Choice Scarf Gengar really screws him up if he tries to Hypnosis you.

Cool set, I think I'll try it myself.

Yah, Protect was my original idea to get recovery against Rhyperior. I didn't think of Mach Punch until recently, I was more concerned about TTar killing me before I kill it, so I thought Brick Break. Mach Punch solves that and allows more freedom in move select (I can use Seed Bomb or Mach Punch the first time). This is the only Grass or Water type to resist QuakeSlide and not be hit SE by Megahorn. Of course, Ice Punch or Avalanche will own Breloom, but all QuakeSlide resists are. (I know Bronzong exists, but Megahorn takes care of him).

Myself said:
Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
Adamant (+Atk, -SpA)
252 HP / 152 Atk / 108 Def
~Protect
~Mach Punch
~Seed Bomb
~Spore/Stone Edge

Eerrily similar to Hyra's, yet mine gets no props. ;_; (Not trying to imply "thievery" or any such nonsense)

I'm diggin' your EVs, Hyra.

How about breloom@ focus sash
Adamant/ poison heal
252 hp/252 spe/ 4 hp
~spore
~focus punch
~mach punch
~stone edge/seed bomb
As a starter, almost guarenteed to inflict sleep(unless the starter is using sub/protect. Does lots of damage to the switch-in or the pokemon if they didnt switch(unless its a ghost)

My planned set is pretty well set up.

Here it is:

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
Impish(+Def, -SpA)
208 Att / 100 Speed / 196 Def
~Spore
~Mach Punch
~Leech Seed
~Seed Bomb

I'm almost certain the EVs are off but I'm sure it OHKOs Weavile and at a minimum, a 2 hit KO on T-tar and can survive any of it's attacks.

Mega card advantage set <_<

Breloom@FocusSash
Effect Spore
Adament
252atk/252Spd/4HP
Spore
Mach Punch
Focus Punch
Sword Dance

Spore one pokemon, predict the switch, sword Dance.

There with Breeloom you just:

1 Sleeping
1 Sword Dance
1 Max Priority attack
1 focus punch for Filler
1 status, hopefully
