Breloooom.

Hey this is my new team. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Roserade (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Sleep Powder
- Toxic Spikes
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Fire]

I really like roserade as a lead. Sleep powder on the first turn and then im free to set up toxic spikes. Focus sash usually guarantees getting spikes up but I usually have to switch out on a lead ape, unless i risk sleep powder's accuracy. Grass Knot covers Swampert and is good later in the game, and HP Fire offers good type coverage.

Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 120 Atk/252 Spd/136 SAtk
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam
- Crunch
- Earthquake

Okay, not really the orthodox TTar set but this keeps the opponent guessing. With Choice Scarf TTar is actually really fast - it outspeeds threats such as Starmie, Infernape and Lucario. My team has a psychic weakness but if I predict well TTar completely covers that. The special set is unexpected and Fire Blast and Ice Beam score many OHKOs on unaware opposition. Crunch is for the aforementioned Psychics and Ghosts and Earthquake is great for pokes such as Infernape and Lucario.

gengar.png

Gengar (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Explosion

Standard Gengar set - although its overused, its still a huge threat to opponents. I needed an exploder and Gengar more than lives up to the job.

infernape.png

Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 68 Atk/188 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast
- Close Combat
- Grass Knot

Nasty Plot ape is a really big threat, and i believe it's an underrated set. After one nasty plot STAB Fire Blast is very powerful. Grass Knot is for any water switch ins and Close Combat for wall-breaking and type coverage. I took 4 speed evs off the standard smogon set as the slower ape always wins due to the defense loss that CC gives.

Breloom (M) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 44 HP/252 Atk/212 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Focus Punch
- Spore

Now for the star of the show. Breloom is one of my favourite pokes and this set is verrrryyyyy good. Spore first, and that leaves you free to set up Leech Seed. Then with the boost poison heal and Leech seed gives you, substitute barely takes anything off. SubPunch has swept me many ateam.

swampert.png

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Avalanche
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
Now, my tank. I've used swampert as a lead in the past, but found him dying quickly. This set keeps his attacking ability whilst increasing his ability as a TANK. Once stealth rock is set up I can phaze to my heart's content, giving toxic damage PLUS stealth rock.

I know I have a massive psychic weakness but TTar DOES counter that. Anyway, please rate :)

Run substitute on Gengar, otherwise you're inviting Scizor to come in and make yourself it's bitch.

Run:
Gengar@Leftovers
Timid Nature; 252 sp. atk, 252spe, 6hp

-Shadow Ball
-HP Fire
-Substitute
-Focus Blast

If you REALLY feel the need to run explosion on Gengar, then you could run the SubPunch set:

Hasty Nature@Expert Belt
100 atk, 158sp.atk, 252 spe
-Substitute
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Punch
-Explosion

By running explosion on this set, you get a lot more power, considering that there already is EV investment in attack.

You can mix and match these sets as you will, but substitute is a very useful moving on gengar, giving you sound insurance against bullet punch and pursuit.
