Bronzong vs Cresselia

Never been swept by a Cressy? My Cressy runs the Charge Beam/Ice Beam/Sleep Talk/Rest set and can comfortably sit in against most strong opponents and merrily fire off Charge Beams to gain a monstrous special attack stat. After two boosts, you can comfortably expect to OHKO a 2x weak with Ice Beam and 2hko a 2x weak with Charge Beam.... and don't forget this thing can also absorb status and has the survivability of a cockroach XD

so you mean that a giant shoe crushes cresselia? BTW, I realized that bronzong is not a good lead unless you play TR because taunt screws it.

Definitely Cress. Saying that Cress cannot sweep because of a "measly" 85-base speed stat is like saying that Curselax cannot sweep in Advance. On fragile matters such as Gengar and Azelf, speed may play a more vital role in a sweep, but Crescelia is first and foremost a tank. It's supposed to take hits. Because of her durability, she can actually afford to be slower and take a few hits during a sweep.

As for Brozong, it's a wall but it can't do much beyond simply walling. Gyro Ball looks powerful on paper, but Brozong is not doing much more than scaring TTar and friends with it.

Gyro Ball isn't just powerful on paper. It is powerful in actual battles. It severely cripples most fast sweepers that try to switch in. Fire and electric types that try to cushion the blow will risk getting hit by earthquake. Tyranitar and Weavile can be very threatening to a team and Bronzong can cripple them. It's very ignorant to state that Bronzong can simply wall stuff. He can set up reflect, light screen, trick room, and rain dance. He learns Hypnosis,Calm Mind, and Charge Beam as well.

Cresselia has extremely rediculous bulk, making it better for simply defense. However, the options Bronzong receives are the same or better for the most part.

Bronzong is actually a tank(and all tanks can function as walls). Bronzong as a lead is actually not a bad choice unless your opponent starts off with a tauntingDDdos which basically means you're screwed. So far sfter the loads of battles I have fought only a few use him as their lead poke usually they switch him in later in the game(that's just me though). With 85 base speed Cresselia can actually pull off a sweep as it's astronomical defenses make up for the loss in speed.

Well, I think people are neglecting 1 thing Bronzong has over Cresselia: fewer weaknesses, since it only has 1, and can play mind games so that its weakness is something else as well.

I dont think Bronzong vs Cresselia can be answered simply at all. They both fill totaly different roles. Bronzong sets up/opens. Cresselia swiches in to wall/support. If you are asking AS A WALL which is better? its definitly cresselia. She can heal better, way harder to ohko than bronzong and has a better tank movepool.

why is everyone so against leading with bronzong? just give him charge beam to surprise Gyarados when it taunts. problem solved.

i for one, prefer bronzong for his insane unpredictability and being able to switch into a wider range of type. sure, he would really like higher HP and a good recovery move, but what sets him apart from cresselia is that there isn't really a "bronzong counter". cresselia is destroyed once a CBtar comes in. Pursuit traps it and it fears Crunch, plus sandstorm makes moonlight usesless. conclusively, cresselia generally lives longer and looks amazing on paper, but bronzong always finds a way to help your team pull off a win with his sneakiness.

Bronzong is a pretty good status absorber/rest talker, giving Gengar a lot of problems and benefiting from Thunder Wave (gyro ball basically always having max power.) lIt walls Electivire pretty well too, and can be used to test Salamence variants.

I use Bronzong mainly to set up Stealth Rock, Hypnotize something, and then blow the fuck up. Gyro Ball just in case he's facing something he can kill, or if he doesn't have to blow up yet.

You must have been playing against retarded opponents for them to allow you to sit there and Charge Beam them.

Restalking Cresselia really is horrible. I stated many reasons why in the "best walls" thread.

While it allows a good 50% and some more diversity, SS teams will give you a hard time when it comes to 33%.
It's 25%. Shoddy is bugged.

Anyways, these two aren't remotely comparable. They counter different things

Bronzong:
- Normal/Fly attackers
- TTar (if you avoid CBCrunch)
- Aerodactyl
- Weavile
- Electivire kinda
- Most ground types

Cress:
- Dragons
- Fighting pokemon besides Heracross
- Electivire (without the kinda this time)
- Most Ground types
- Gyarados
