What is the bug?
Fluttermane's protosysnthesis is boosting special attack when it should be boosting speed based on the EV spread.

EVs: 240 HP / 44 Def / 116 SpA / 108 SpD
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Taunt
- Hex
- Protect

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
I recreated Fluttermane's EV spread on cart and recorded the correct stat being boosted.

Was your speed stat lowered when you got the Sp. Atk boost?

At level 50, this EV spread gives you identical Special Attack and Speed stats of 170. If you were playing a VGC match on Showdown, with Flutter Mane leveled down to 50, that would be why you got a Special Attack boost rather than a Speed boost.

Moving four EVs from HP to Speed will give you a Speed stat of 171 to get a Speed boost from Protosynthesis without changing your HP stat at level 50.
