[SET COMMENTS]
Kingambit is one of the metagame's most powerful late-game wincons due to its high Attack bolstered further by Swords Dance and a fantastic ability in Supreme Overlord, excellent natural bulk and a good defensive typing, and access to a powerful STAB Sucker Punch to make up for its poor Speed; moreover, it is one of the tier's best users of Terastallization, giving it more opportunities to set up and sweep by nearly inverting its weaknesses and resistances. Kowtow Cleave is Kingambit's most reliable STAB option; with a Swords Dance boost and Supreme Overlord's maximum number of boosts, it is powerful enough to OHKO physically defensive Corviknight after Stealth Rock damage the majority of the time. Sucker Punch allows Kingambit to greatly pressure offensive threats, allowing it to eliminate weakened foes like Walking Wake, Hisuian Zoroark, Volcarona, Iron Moth, and Floatzel. With boosts from Supreme Overlord and Swords Dance, it can even handle bulkier threats like Roaring Moon where its high bulk investment allows it to attack them first, survive a hit, and KO them with Sucker Punch thereafter. Iron Head is a consistent STAB option that can eliminate Garganacl, Baxcalibur, Hatterene, and Tera Fairy Skeledirge while pressuring Roaring Moon without relying on Sucker Punch predictions against Dragon Dance variants. Tera Blast alongside a Fairy or Flying Tera type allows Kingambit to punish Fighting-types like Iron Valiant and Great Tusk by turning its 4x Fighting weakness into a resistance and OHKOing them in return with a super effective attack, though this comes at the cost of requiring Kingambit to Terastallize in order to maximize its coverage. 20 Speed EVs allow Kingambit to outspeed minimum Speed Corviknight, while the HP investment allows Kingambit to survive powerful attacks like Choice Band Baxcalibur's Earthquake and Choice Specs Iron Valiant's Moonblast, allowing it to potentially set up against them and sweep. Tera Fairy improves Kingambit's matchup against Dragon-types like Baxcalibur and Roaring Moon, while Tera Flying grants it a Ground immunity to allow it to turn Great Tusk into setup fodder.
Kingambit is an excellent wincon on bulky offense and balanced teams. Ting-Lu and Garchomp provide Stealth Rock and Spikes support to let Kingambit KO Roaring Moon with a boosted Sucker Punch, and the chip damage from entry hazards can make up for fewer Supreme Overlord boosts should some of Kingambit's teammates still be healthy. Iron Valiant can use its strong mixed coverage to pressure Unaware walls like Dondozo and that would otherwise ignore Kingambit's Swords Dance boosts and prevent its sweep, while Hisuian Zoroark can eliminate Dondozo while pressuring Skeledirge and Amoonguss. In return, Kingambit's great bulk and good defensive typing let it check faster offensive threats like Dragapult and Meowscarada while resisting priority from Dragonite and Baxcalibur. Great Tusk appreciates Kingambit's ability to pressure Fairy-types that force it out, and in return, it wears down Steel-types—especially opposing Kingambit, which this set greatly appreciates, since it does not carry Low Kick—so Kingambit can sweep more easily. Dragon-types like Dragapult, Baxcalibur, Roaring Moon, and Dragonite all have excellent synergy with Kingambit, as it resists Dragon- and Ice-type attacks and can threaten Fairy-types like Hatterene and Tera Fairy Garganacl with Iron Head; any of these Dragon-types can run Choice item sets to help wallbreak for Kingambit, or Kingambit can assist in wallbreaking earlier in the game to facilitate their sweeps if they opt to run Dragon Dance sets instead. Baxcalibur can deter Will-O-Wisp attempts from Rotom-W and defensive Cinderace, while the other three resist Fire-type attacks from Volcarona and Iron Moth. Iron Moth and Volcarona themselves make for effective teammates, as they can handle threats like Corviknight and opposing Kingambit while wearing down walls like Dondozo to help Kingambit sweep. In return, Kingambit's powerful Sucker Punch can pressure fast and powerful physical attackers like Dragapult, Cinderace, and Baxcalibur that Volcarona and Iron Moth cannot reliably set up against. Lastly, Choice Scarf Gholdengo can take advantage of Corviknight and Amoonguss to help Kingambit break through defensive cores long-term and can use Trick to cripple walls like Skeledirge and Dondozo, giving Kingambit opportunities to exploit their newfound Choice locks and wear them down.
