As I said before... I think I have a problem. I'm addicted to making these things. However I'm only making a new one so close to my last one because they are in different tiers.
THIS IS THE LAST RMT I PLAN TO MAKE FOR A WHILE, SO JUST BEAR WITH ONE MORE TIME, I KNOW I MAKE ALOT OF THEM, LOL.
Thoughts & Feelings about Standard:
- I wont lie, I didnt exactly have the best view on Standard... I dont know how many rmt's I've looked at that all look like the same bulky offensive blah blah blah. And I thought to myself, "self, how can that be fun?" Despite myself I decided to give standard a shot with really no real knowledge of the metagame. I knew what the most common leads were and etc., but I didnt rightly know how to go about making a team that would function in standard all that well. I sat down at my comp... and cranked out this, and so far this team has made standard easy for me, plus I love playing this team (maybe even more than UU)...
This is a stall team... I dont know much about what Platinum stall looks like. I just had some pokes in my head that I wanted to wall, and set out to do so. I figured stall would be easier in OU since there arent as many viable threats to counter... so far that logic has proven to be sound. Its seems pretty solid so far, and so far looks like it could be a difficult team to break in OU. But again I'm not sure about any of what I'm saying reall as my experience in standard beyond what I've learned using this team is basically "lol."

Swampert @ Leftovers
Relaxed
252 Hp/ 212 Def./ 40 Sp. Def./ 4 Spe.
Stealth Rock
Ice Beam
EQ
Rest
- Oh Swampert... Maybe the best fodder poke I could have ever asked for... First and foremost he serves as a lead, getting up SR against Metagross. Kills Aero in 2 hits ensuring that it can use SR only once. Secondly he is my first switch into any salamence or dragonite and can come in on heatran if need be. I'm not stellar at damage calcs, but I tried to make sure I cant be OHKO'd from a Draco Meteor from Salamence with 216 sp. atk. which was listed in his analysis, however I do not know if that is the most common mix mense or not. I have other pokes that can take a Draco Meteor and not be crippled to wear down its sp. atk before attempting the kill with Swampert. It's my hope and prayer that SR is up before this thing decideds to come out, otherwise he can REALLY put a hurting on this team if they can out predict me. The one weakness to the team I have noticed.
ABOUT THE EV'S- the 4 speed is because normal Swampert leads do not run speed ev's (or at least they dont from looking at the analysis page), so I know I can come in at lower health and get a rest off and get out of there safely.
Blissey @ Leftovers
Calm
248 Def./ 252 Sp. Def./ 8 Spe.
Aromatherapy
Sceismic Toss
Softboiled
Toxic
- Lets get this out of the way next shall we? My favorite poke, and THE special wall... Her ev's are pretty standard. I didnt want to be weak from the special attacking side, and this is the best stop for Sp. Sweepers in the game. She is one of the most valuable members to this team.
ABOUT THE MOVESET:
This moveset is specifically designed for this team. Aromatherapy is there because most of my pokes carry rest as their form of recovery. Sceismic toss is to hit most special attackers harder than flamethrower would. This left me unable to do anything to a gengar... but I have an answer for him that will come a little later. Also, CM suicune can be a problem for some teams, even with Blissey. However, I have taken measures against it as well. Toxic is just plain sex, even if some of Blissey's common switch in's are immune to toxic... Plus it helps to poison Zapdos and Togekiss (etc.) which toxic spikes cannot do.
ABOUT THE EV'S:
I made this Blissey just a tad faster than the average, hopefully it will come in handy someday as I didnt see what one point from def. was going to hurt anyhow. I do this with my chansey's in UU and I got to kill an opponents Chansey once, simply because I knew I was going to be faster(doing this with my Chanseys is mostly for outspeeding sub punch hariyama however). Max Sp. Def. because Im not running flamethrower, which makes her that much more sturdy.
Gyarados @ Leftovers
Impish
252 Hp/ 248 Def./ 8 Spe.
Rest
Sleep Talk
Waterfall
Stone Edge
- It wasn't until after I made this team that I found out how common this thing is nowadays T-T... Anyway, what with being able to beat the 2 top sweepers in the game right now (and DD mence), its no wonder stall teams have started packing this thing. This is the main physical threat counter for this team (swampert and rotom work to handle the others), and he does his job beautifully. If only it wasn't for that darned SR!
ABOUT THE SET:
This, as I have come to find out, is nothing new. The set's effectiveness literally speaks for itself. Lucario w/o stone edge and Scizor both lose to this thing. That hoses the two most dominant physical threats in OU as of now. Also, it has the added bonus of beating DDmence. Against other stall teams, it forces Blissey that carry flamethrower out as it cant really afford risking flinch hax from waterfall. Stone edge hits dragonite, salamence, other gyara, as well as some switch ins harder than waterfall.
ABOUT THE EV'S
Ev spreads give me simple revalations... Looking at the two builds of sleep talk gyara, I noticed something: I could really use some speed ev's. Why? simple, the DD variant of gyara runs only waterfall, meaning I beat it anyway. The other version, the one I run uses no speed ev's... So I added 8 spe. to almost ensure I beat other rest talk Gyara to the stone edge should I ever have to do so w/o fear of a speed tie.(and I have had to do so, and it was beautiful)
Rotom- Spin @ Leftovers
Bold
252 hp/ 208 Def./ 40 Sp. Def./ 8 spe.
Rest
Sleep talk
Shadow Ball
Thunder Bolt
- Now, I know rotom-s is one of the worst, if not THE worst rotom form. However since this moveset is the same for any rotom I picked, I chose this one as it is my favorite. With this rotom form I have the power of mind games. For instance my opponent does not know what HP I may or may not be packing( as fire, grass and ice are threatening prospects), and they also do not know if Im running Air Slash, Shadowball, Thunderbolt or some combination of the three. They also must consider me running the standard para flinch thing. This way they cant look at my rotom and guess my moveset as easily as they cut the cut or heat version. Its a minor mind game, but hey... every bit helps. I've had people switch out their Swampert or Salamence simply because they feared what my Rotom knew...
ABOUT THE SET:
I chose to go for nothing more than simple STAB. That way I could still beat Meatagross, Gyarados, Scizor, and Luca packing stone edge. On the down side I do not have one grass type attack for Cursepert. Rest talk is because this thing is surprisingly very bulky, and I needed to be able to wall and pressure my opponents at the same time as too much stalling w/o me attacking is bound to push hax in their favor.
ABOUT THE EV'S:
Noticing a trend with my ev spreads? Max Hp, because its simply put, not Blissey in regards to base HP. 212 Def. as it is a physical tank. The 40 Sp. Def. is because I may need it to take some random special attacks during the match such as azelf fire blast, and I didnt want to not prepare somewhat. 8 ev's in speed is for the inevitable mirror match between 2 rest talking rotoms.
Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Careful
252 Hp/ 20 Spe./ 236 Sp. Def.
Roost
Spikes
Whirlwind
Brave Bird
- Thats right a Sp. Def. Skarmory! I saw this in another RMT and fell in love with the idea. These ev's make Blissey spike bait for Skarmory as her Flamethrower does about 30 percent leaveing me free to roost and spikes to my hearts content. Also, this is my phazer for the team and it has the added bonus of being able to reliably phaze CM suicune over and over. Latias with a choice scarf is also nothing more than spikes bait and it can come in on any variation of swampert and spikes/ phaze. Basically my favorite poke on the team because its so much fun to see people slack jawed at not being able to significantly dent her with surfs or ice beams, even some super effective Hidden Powers cannot 2HKO this skarmory variant. Still able to function as a physical tank, but it def. is not the same poke as the standard. Shed Shell makes magnezone a waste of a poke.
ABOUT THE MOVES:
Brave bird got picked over drill peck for the boosted power it has. Roost, spikes and whirlwind are all but required to round out the set.
ABOUT THE EV'S:
Already mentioned above. The 20 spe. ev's lets me beat most skarmory to the whirlwind as well as almost every phazer in the game... which is very helpful.
