  • Hydreigon has an excellent offensive typing, strong coverage moves, and good bulk. What truly separates Hydreigon from other special attacking Dragon-types like Latios is its ability to hit Jellicent and Cresselia super effectively. Its wider coverage movepool also allows it to better damage common Dragon-resistant Pokemon, such as Metagross and Heatran, making Hydreigon a decent anti-meta option. That said, Hydreigon's Speed is an issue, as it is outran by Latios and Genesect. Additionally, its Dark-typing gives it a weakness to Fighting-types, allowing it to be easily revenge-killed by Conkeldurr's Mach Punch. Most notably, Hydreigon faces competition with Latios, which is faster and has similar damage output, thus making it a more consistent fit on most teams.
  • Draco Meteor is Hydreigon's strongest Dragon-type STAB attack which can OHKO neutral Pokemon like Landorus-T. Dark Pulse is Hydreigon's strongest Dark-type STAB, hitting common bulky Pokemon like Cresselia and Jellicent super effectively. Earth Power is typically the more reliable coverage option, as it is able to hit common Dragon-resistant Pokemon, such as Metagross and Heatran, super effectively. Fire Blast is used for stronger damage into Metagross while trading the ability to hit Heatran for the ability to hit other Steel-types, such as Genesect, Ferrothorn, and Scizor, super effectively. Tailwind is an option for teams that prefer speed control rather than a coverage move.
  • Life Orb gives a consistent boost to all of Hydreigon's attacks, allowing it to 2HKO Jellicent through Sitrus Berry with Dark Pulse and OHKO Metagross with Fire Blast. Dragon Gem gives a one-time power boost to Draco Meteor, making Hydreigon difficult to switch in to and giving it a high chance to OHKO Thundurus.
  • Hydreigon oftentimes finds itself on weather teams which can mitigate Hydreigon's Speed by threatening faster Pokemon with their weather abusers. Kingdra appreciates Hydreigon's ability to threaten Jellicent and Cresselia while Hydreigon benefits from Kingdra's threatening Latios. Sand teams, despite the overlapping Fighting weakness, also appreciate Hydreigon's ability to threaten Jellicent and Cresselia and can support Hydreigon by beating Latios and Kyurem-B. Hydreigon reliably beats Heatran, which can be annoying for sand teams to break if Heatran is able to set up Substitute. Metagross is an excellent teammate, as it matches well into Latios and Conkeldurr while benefitting greatly from Hydreigon beating Jellicent, Cresselia, Heatran, and opposing Metagross.

  • With an excellent offensive typing, strong coverage moves, and good bulk, Hydreigon separates itself from other special attacking Dragon-types like Latios with its ability to hit Jellicent and Cresselia super effectively. this feels a bit confusing because the second sentence feels like justifying hydreigon's use case when it feels like the first already does, maybe emphasize how hydreigon is especially good for those reasons, but is a bit left behind by other dragon-types here Its wider coverage movepool also allows it to better damage common Dragon-resistant Pokemon, such as Metagross and Heatran, making Hydreigon a decent anti-meta option. That said, Hydreigon's Speed is an issue, as it is outran by Latios and Genesect. Additionally, its Dark-typing (add hyphen) gives it a weakness to Fighting-types, allowing it to be easily revenge-killed by Conkeldurr's Mach Punch. Most notably, Hydreigon faces competition with Latios, which is faster and has similar damage output, thus making it a more consistent fit on most teams.
  • Draco Meteor is Hydreigon's strongest Dragon-type STAB attack mention it ohkos lando-t at least or other benchmarks. Dark Pulse is Hydreigon's strongest Dark-type STAB attack, hitting common bulky Pokemon like Cresselia and Jellicent super effectively. Earth Power is typically the more reliable coverage option, as it is able to hit common Dragon-resistant Pokemon, such as Metagross and Heatran, super effectively. Fire Blast is used for stronger damage into Metagross while trading the ability to hit Heatran for the ability to hit other Steel-types, such as Ferrothorn and Scizor, super effectively. Fire Blast trades the ability to hit Heatran to hit other Steel-types, such as Metagross, Ferrothorn, and Scizor harder.
Dark Gem gives a power boost to Dark Pulse, however, it does not secure the OHKO on Jellicent or Cresselia, making it a less consistent option. why would you even use this shit, remove af
  • Hydreigon oftentimes finds itself on weather teams that prefers remove s the wallbreaking potential very vague, what do you mean here? you can omit the wallbreaking point entirely imo, as you explain it later and can mitigate Hydreigon's Speed by threatening faster Pokemon with their weather abusers. Kingdra appreciates Hydreigon's ability to threaten Jellicent and Cresselia while Hydreigon benefits from Kingdra's threatening Latios. Sand teams, despite the overlapping Fighting weakness, also appreciate Hydreigon's ability to threaten Jellicent and Cresselia. sand teams also threaten latios thru tyranitar, so i dont see why these would be separate sentences Hydreigon also reliably beats Heatran, which can be annoying for sand teams to break if Heatran is able to set up Substitute. In return, Tyranitar can Latios. Metagross is an excellent teammate, as it matches well into Latios and Conkeldurr while benefitting greatly from Hydreigon beating Jellicent, Cresselia, Heatran, and opposing Metagross.

Its wider coverage movepool also allows it to better damage common Dragon-resistant Pokemon, such as Metagross and Heatran, making Hydreigon a decent anti-meta option. I'd just specify Earth Power and Fire Blast here, we aren't reaching that deep into the movepool That said, Hydreigon's Speed is an issue, as it is outran by Latios and Genesect. Additionally, its Dark-typing gives it a weakness to Fighting-types, allowing it to be easily revenge-killed by Conkeldurr's Mach Punch. • Draco Meteor is Hydreigon's strongest Dragon-type STAB attack which can OHKO neutral Pokemon like Landorus-T. I would also add that it picks off lots of targets after minimal chip, like Thundurus after Rocks or Dark Pulse is Hydreigon's strongest Dark-type STAB, hitting common bulky Pokemon like Cresselia and Jellicent super effectively. Earth Power is typically the more reliable coverage option, as it is able to hit common Dragon-resistant Pokemon, such as Metagross and Heatran, super effectively. Tailwind is an option for teams that prefer speed control rather than a coverage move. Flamethrower seems like a more convincing mention here than Tailwind, i think you're always gonna want to hit steels, and flamethrower does everything fblast does bar ohko metagross

Metagross is an excellent teammate, as it matches well into Latios and Conkeldurr while benefitting greatly from Hydreigon beating Jellicent, Cresselia, Heatran, and opposing Metagross.
