move 2: Stone Edge
move 3: U-turn
move 4: Stealth Rock / Protect
item: Focus Sash
ability: Levitate
nature: Adamant / Jolly
evs: 4 Def / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
  • Access to a strong STAB spread move in Earthquake, pivoting in U-turn, one of the only immunities to Thunder Wave, ability to threaten Thundurus with Stone Edge, and utility with Intimidate and Stealth Rock, which allows for important chip damage to targets such as Thundurus, make Landorus-T one of the best Pokemon in the metagame.
  • Protect over Stealth Rock further boosts Landorus-T's longevity if entry hazards are not needed on the team.
  • Focus Sash increases Landorus-T's longevity by allowing it to survive powerful lethal hits, such as Dragon Gem Latios's Draco Meteor or Kingdra's Muddy Water.
  • An Adamant nature is preferred to guarantee the OHKO on standard Thundurus with Stone Edge. Jolly is an option if higher Speed is preferred, as many Pokemon, such as Cresselia, Kyurem-B, and the aforementioned Thundurus, will Speed creep Adamant Landorus-T.
  • Landorus-T is a common lead Pokemon, since it can cripple foes with Intimidate, set up hazards, or pivot out of unfavorable matchups. Against teams with strong physical attackers, such as Excadrill, Conkeldurr, or Tyranitar, it is best to preserve Landorus-T's health so that it can continuously use Intimidate.
  • Landorus-T is capable of fitting on many teams easily due to its splashability; however, it does appreciate Ground-immune teammates so that it can use Earthquake freely. A common partner is Thundurus, because it can cripple faster threats, such as Latios or Kingdra. Latios is also a common partner, since it can threaten Kyurem-B and opposing Landorus-T. Cresselia benefits from Intimidate while also being able to hit opposing Landorus-T super effectively.
  • Explosion is an option on Jolly Landorus-T, as it can outrun Speed creeping Pokemon and is guaranteed to live a hit with Focus Sash, barring a double-target. Superpower over U-turn is also an option on Jolly Landorus-T to hit Kyurem-B super effectively.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Stone Edge / Rock Slide
move 3: Superpower
move 4: U-turn
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Levitate
nature: Adamant
evs: 8 HP / 252 Atk / 68 SpD / 180 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
  • Choice Scarf trades the utility of the Focus Sash set for a strong, speedy attacker. This allows Landorus-T to become one of the fastest non-weather reliant Pokemon in the tier, alongside an immunity to Thunder Wave.
  • Rock Slide is an alternative move that takes advantage of Landorus-T's Speed for spread chip damage while also having the ability to flinch.
  • The given EV spread outruns Choice Scarf base 70s while the defensive investment allows it to live an uninvested Thundurus Hidden Power Ice. Similarly, Adamant nature guarantees the OHKO on standard Thundurus with Stone Edge. Alternatively, a spread with Jolly and maximum Speed can be used to outrun positive nature Deoxys-A.
  • With its Speed and U-turn, this set aims to spread chip damage while pivoting for favorable matchups. Importantly, U-turn allows Choice Scarf Landorus-T to outrun and threaten Latios. This set can also clean with its strong Earthquakes once the opponent's Ground-immune Pokemon have been removed.
  • Choice Scarf Landorus-T requires teammates that it can Earthquake next to, since it does not have the luxury to switch moves. Latios is a great offensive partner, as its combination of Speed and Special Attack, alongside an immunity to Earthquake, can allow it to clean up games with Landorus-T. Since Landorus-T uses U-turn often, bulky Pokemon it can pivot into, such as Amoonguss, are great partners as well.

Sash Attacker
  • You mention Stealth Rock in passing but don't give any real information about what it does, I'd specifically mention chipping down Thundurus as a part of that.
  • As you describe Jolly is a real option, so you should have it as a slash on the actual set. Also I'd change the example of Cresselia to Kyurem-Black since like Thundurus that's something you can actually hit hard.
  • I'd mention Superpower as an option, I've seen it used over U-Turn, especially with Jolly to hit Kyurem-Black.
  • I'd specifically mention using Jolly with Explosion.
Choice Scarf
  • I've seen Superpower dropped for Rock Slide in the past, so you could consider that as a slash, but I like the current moves.
  • I'd definitely say how Choice Scarf Landorus-Therian is one of the fastest non-weather Pokemon in the tier, while boasting an immunity to Thunder Wave too.
  • While U-Turn is often a good option to click, I feel like you're focusing a bit too much on that/using Choice Scarf as a pivot currently, mentioning it in several points. Also you mention hitting Latios as an "added benefit", but I'd instead emphasise it as one of the notable things that makes Choice Scarf so good, since it's one of the few Pokemon which can outspeed and threaten Latios.
  • Is neutral Speed on Choice Scarf Kyurem-Black a thing? Seems like an unset to me, I'd just mention Deoxys.
  • Some of your points with multiple sentences don't feel super bullet point-y, and could be condensed a bit or split into different points.
  • The calc is an uninvested (not "neutral") Thundurus Hidden Power Ice which you nearly always live, also you should specify Timid Shaymin-Sky, but personally I'd just not mention it regardless since Thundurus is way more important. There's also the possibility to rearrange the defensive EVs to always live the HP Ice: 0 SpA Thundurus Hidden Power Ice vs. 8 HP / 68 SpD Landorus-Therian: 272-320 (84.7 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
  • Latios is super important to mention as an offensive partner, on top of being an Earthquake immunity it's also fast and a great attacker, so the pair can often clean up games together.
  • Is Choice Band actually used? Seems too far-fetched to me to deserve mentioning, personally.
Good work, implement for QC 1/2.

  • Even moreso than the above set, Choice Scarf Landorus-T prefers i would go as far as saying outright requires tbh teammates that it can Earthquake next to, since it does not have the luxury to switch moves. • Choice Band is an option that acts as a wallbreaker by taking advantage of the lack of reliable ground resists in the tier while threatening ground immunes like Thundurus and Latios with its strong super-effective hits. im with yoda, ive seen it used on like sunrose's rain but im just not super sure it's worthy to mention in this analysis
