[BW2 OU] Rain Team By Desmond Miles

This is probably my best team, but it has a problem and I would like you gave me the solution!

Building Phase:
The team is very synergistic and I could to start from every Pokemon and get to the same team. I using the method called “Counter Systerm” because it is easier to explain!

Rain Team = Politoed!

It is weak to Electro and Grass covered by Ferrothorn.

Ferrothorn is weak to Fire and Fighting covered by Tentacruel.

Tentacruel is weak to Psycho (Ferrothorn), Electro (Ferrothorn) and Earth covered by Thundurus-T.

Thundurus-T is weak to the Rock (Ferrothorn) and Ice (Tentacruel).

Now I choose Scizor to create the Volturn Chain with Thundurus-T, the weakness to Fire is covered by Tentacruel.

Politoed @ Choice Specs
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Weather, Specser, Special Sweepers.

Hydro Pump STAB.
Ice Beam counters Dragon, Landorus(-T), Thundurus-T, Tornadus, Grass ecc…
Focus Blast counters Tyranitar, Magnezone, Steel, Abomasnow ecc…
HP Grass counters Gastrodon, Jellicent, Starmie and other Water.

I chose Specser Politoed because in front of Politoed many switch and Hydro Pump is always a good choice seen the damage it does, then it is better to Scarfer Politoed because I do not care the speed in these situations. I do not like Defensive Politoed because the best defensive Pokemon Water is Tentacruel and it makes no sense to have 2 Pokemon with the same function.

073.gif

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd
Timid Nature
- Toxic
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Substitute

Annoyer, Spinner, Supporter, Entry Hazard, Tanks, Wall.

Scald STAB. Rapid Spin staple.
Substitute is very durable and allows me to take a turn instead of wasting Toxic on a Steel. It also gives me the chance to do 1 or 2 Scald before switch.
Toxic is better than Toxic Spikes in this set.

Tentacruel is the best defensive Pokemon with Rapid Spin in a Rain Team.

598.gif

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Protect

Spiker, Supporter, Entry Hazard, Tanks, Wall

Power Whip STAB.
Stealth Rock and Leech Seed staple.
Protect because with Leech Seed and Leftovers I can recover HP and extend the longevity of Ferrothorn.

Ferrothorn is the best Pokemon Steel capable of stalling.

642-therian.gif

Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunder
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast

Scarfer Special Sweepers, Revenge-killing

Thunder STAB.
Volt Switch STAB and Volturn Chain, too Broken!
Hidden Power [Ice] counters Dragon, Landorus(-T), Earth ecc…
Focus Blast counters Tyranitar, Magnezone, Steel, Abomasnow ecc…

Thundurus-T becomes with Scraf one of the fastest Pokemon in OU so as to exploit Volt Switch e Thunder ends the opposing team once they no longer Pokemon resistant to Electro.

212.gif

Scizor @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Lead, Scarfer Sweepers, Revenge-killing

U-turn STAB and Volturn Chain, too broken!
Bullet Punch STAB.
Superpower counters Tyranitar, Heatran, Magnezone, Steel, Abomasnow, Chansey and Blissey ecc…
Pursuit counter Psychic, Volcarona after Stealth Rock, really good after Draco Meteor.

Scizor complete Volturn Chain with U-Turn STAB. Scizor is a Lead that recalls the Fire moves so I can to switch in Politoed. Scizor requires you to change the Ninjask and Dragons as lead.
I prefer Scarf Scizor because my goal is to attack first with U-turn. CBander Scizor is more focused on Bullet Punch and do not care. Scizor is too slow in the current meta, it would not resist to more than two attacks.

130.gif

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Trait: Moxie
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 56 HP / 248 Atk / 204 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Bounce

Annoyer Dancer, Sweepers, Entry Hazard

Waterfall STAB, too broken under Rain!
Bounce STAB.
Dragon Dance makes Gyarados one of the fastest Pokemon in OU. After 2 Dragon Dances won.
Substitute protects from WoW and Toxic. It also protects the moves "unpredictable" or unusual.

Gyarados uses Rain with a physical STAB. In more enhanced once it becomes a winning conditions. Log on Earth moves that target Tentacruel and create substitute the resulting Switch.

Now I will talk about the problem.
The problem is called Magnezone!
With HP Fire traps and kills Ferrothorn and Scizor. Politoed, Tentacruel and Gyarados succumb to an attack Electric.
Obviously I will change in Thundurus-T and my opponent will prepare HP Fire takes away 75% of HP Thundurus-T (with Stealth Rock is 1OHKO) and under Sun 1OHKO Thundurus-T and HP Ice 1OHKO Thundurus-T.
My only chance is revenge-killing with Focus Blast, are very unlucky and always fails, ALWAYS!

Do you have a better solution?
The only solution I can think of is to put another Pokemon with U-turn instead of Scizor that is not weak to Water (I will not use Pokemon that can be weakened by Rain).

Scarf Scizor is an interesting an unique set atm. I like it but make sure you don't use it like a CB Scizor and try to revenge nearly full health dragons with Bullet Punch. Ferrothorn covers a lot of your teams weaknesses and overall your balance is solid but I see your problem with Magnezone. One way to remedy this is by switching Thundurus to your set up and Gyarados to your scarfer.

Gyarados @ Choice Scarf
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Moxie
Jolly
-Waterfall
-Ice Fang
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake

Thundurus-T @ Leftovers
252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spe
Timid
-Nasty Plot
-Hidden Power [Ice]
-Thunder
-Agility

MoxieDos, while not as awesome as your dancer is a solid sweeper in its own right. In addition, it can easily KO Magnezone. You lose your VoltTurn, but rather than Volt Switch after a U-Turn from Scizor, you can boost with either Nasty Plot or Agility based on the opponent's team. Thundurus can set up on any Magnezone lacking HP Ice, and can easily 2hko with Thunder after a boost. Normally I prefer Life Orb, but you'll probably be switching in Thundurus a lot rather than just using it as a late game sweeper so I suggested Leftovers. Overall, these changes are a bit subjective as your team is pretty solid but hopefully this helps you with your Magnezone problem.

This is a pretty standard rain build, so there isn't much rate; however, I see a few hole I'd like to help patch. Your matchup versus two archetypes, sun and stall teams, is nigh on impossible to overcome. Sun teams can trap, weaken, and/or kill Politoed with Dugtrio while Ninetales switches into Ferrothorn, Tentacruel, Scizor, Thundurus-T and Gyarados without many repercussions. Sun in general is not kind to your team due to you being so reliant on rain. In general, versus a competent player, you cannot overcome your sun weakness. Besides the fact that Sun neuders almost your whole team, you lack a solid answer to opposing Venusaur and it is good game if he sets up a growth. Stall in general is threatening too due to the fact that you have two Choice Scarfers. You basically rely on your opponent's team being weak to Gyarados to overcome stall, and this is shaky at best. Gyarados is also somewhat redundant on your team with it having Tentacruel and Thundurus-T as Scizor checks. Lastly, Breloom seems rather threatening too if it plays well and can get up Stealth Rock to get a KO at +2 on a Thundurus-T with Fighting Gem. Due to these weaknesses, I recommend a Specs Latios instead of Gyarados. Latios also checks opposing Keldeo and Landorus while giving you a great answer to sun teams. Venusaur is checked well by Latios, and Sun teams often lack a Pokemon to tank Draco Meteors well. Latios also can break stall through either Life Orb + Roost + Psyshock or just using Trick + Choice Specs. It can also OHKO Breloom without being outsped by Jolly Varients and not having to utilize Bounce which is a free turn of setup bait. I'm unsure of which version you will like better, so test it for yourself. EV's of 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP and moves of Draco Meteor / Surf / Psyshock or Thunder / Trick or Roost will do the best for your team in my opinion. Good luck.

Hello,
you have the standard version of a nice rain team then the advice that I would suggest are few.
As told by Bri Pincess you have problems with sun team and to curb this problem I had thought about changing sets to Thundurus-T. What I have in mind is to make it DoubleDancer so as to create damage and to have an answer on sun team, it is also a good cleaner capable of doing disasters in the all kinds of team, especially in the stall team.
So, however, we lose an important role in today's metagame, and I'm talking about, as you may have guessed, is the RevengeKilling.
Without ScarfThundurus-T you do not have answers on many pokémon that try to get you damage or that you can not block and I assure you that Scizor is not enough, then what I would change is Gyarados, from SubDDGyara to ScarfGyara, in addition to have a discrete RevengeKiller you possess also an excellent cleaner that, thanks to the ability Moxie, it can helps very in offensivity.
And with this change can be answered the question on DoubleDancer Thundurus-T's set on AgilityThundurus-T because the latter does not play the role of WallBreacker, while the DoubleDancer's set has this role that can play so as to create problems for stallteam that without SubDDGyara are annoying.
Another thing I would advise you is the set of Tentacruel, the SubToxic is useful for antispinner as Jellicent, while the TSpiker helps a lot more in your team for the simple fact that the Toxic Spikes are best friends for Thundurus-T since they are harmful to its check / counter.
Finally, however, I advise you to change Politoed from Specs to ModestScarf with Psychic so it hits Toxicroack which is annoying for your team.

tl;dr
186.png

ModestScarf with Psychic > Choice Specs
73.png

Toxic Spikes set > SubToxic

130.png

Gyarados @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd - Jolly
Waterfall / Ice Fang / Earthquake / Stone Edge

642-therian.png

Thundurus-T @ Yache Berry
Trait: Volt Absorb
4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd - Modest
Thunderbolt / Hidden Power Ice / Agility / Nasty Plot

Thunderbolt on Thunder for SunnyTeam.

Hope that I've help you, I really like your team especially for ScarfScizor that helps against Lucario that practically makes you 6-0 without him.

Thank you all: D

Toxicroak has not been a problem. Many see Politoed, Tentacruel, Ferrothorn ... Rain Stall Team OBV!
Start with U-turn Scizor exchange Politoed for example, and what he wants to do Defensive Politoed? Toxic and change Toxicroak (Poison or other). Hydro Pump 1OHKO Toxicroak xD

My solution that I'm trying these days:

In place of Scizor put Jirachi

385.gif

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Iron Head
- Ice Punch
- Drain Punch

Drain Punch is for Magnezone, Mamoswine, Ferrothorn etc ...

I will also try your solutions! Thank you!
