[OVERVIEW]

With unparalleled bulk and an immense base 165 Attack stat, Calyrex-I is easily one of the most threatening Dynamax attackers in the metagame. Its base 50 Speed makes it a good offensive Trick Room setter, underspeeding common Pokemon such as Incineroar and Necrozma-DM. It also has a vast amount of coverage options that are incredibly good while Dynamaxed, with Max Quake and Max Steelspike improving its already exceptional bulk and Max Knuckle boosting its Attack even further. Its ability is also extremely relevant, with As One allowing it to snowball by boosting its Attack when it inevitably takes a KO. The ability's Unnerve portion is also worth mentioning in the current metagame, as many common Pokemon hold a Berry, such as Chople Berry Stakataka and Sitrus Berry Incineroar. Calyrex-I's main downside comes in the form of its weaknesses, being weak to common restricted Pokemon like Calyrex-S, Zacian-C, and Dialga. Also, being a physical attacker means it is more susceptible to common Intimidate Pokemon such as Incineroar and Hitmontop. It can also be fairly reliant on Trick Room due to its Speed, meaning it's prone to being double targeted during the turn it takes to use the move.

[SET COMMENTS]

* As Glacial Lance is a spread move, it is capable of taking two KOs at once, giving Calyrex-I two Attack boosts from As One. It is also effective in dealing with Landorus-T, Groudonx and Yveltal.

* High Horsepower allows Calyrex-I to break through problematic Steel-types such as Zacian-C, Solgaleo, and Dialga. It also offers it Max Quake as a way to improve its Special Defense during Dynamax.

* Heavy Slam is effective against common Fairy-types such as Xerneas and Grimmsnarl as well as opposing Calyrex-I. It also lets Calyrex-I increase its Defense with Max Steelspike during Dynamax. Close Combat gives it an effective way to hit Incineroar and Gigantamax Lapras for as much damage as possible, and the corresponding access to Max Knuckle is also fantastic for further accumulating Attack boosts, even giving two if it picks up a KO. Swords Dance is another option for Calyrex-I to mitigate its Intimidate weakness at the cost of an additional coverage move.

* Trick Room allows Calyrex-I to serve as its own form of speed control, with it notably underspeeding Incineroar and Lapras.

* Weakness Policy is by far the best item for Calyrex-I, as it immediately allows it to boost its Attack extremely high and start taking KOs. This can be easily achieved with self-activation methods such as Sucker Punch Grimmsnarl and Bullet Punch Hitmontop, but it is not reliant on these due to Calyrex-I's fairly common weaknesses. Life Orb offers a consistent damage boost, whereas Lum Berry is particularly effective in combating typical burn spreaders such as Spectrier and Torkoal.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Calyrex-I has a plethora of different coverage moves at its disposal. It can choose to run Seed Bomb for better matchups against Kyogre and Tapu Fini. Zen Headbutt is decent as a secondary STAB move that allows it to dominate Weezing and Hitmontop, which can disrupt it with Will-O-Wisp and Wide Guard, respectively. Lash Out is also an option to improve its matchup against Calyrex-S; however, this is often not worth it due to Calyrex-S's lacking physical bulk. These options all come at the cost of not being able to run a more beneficial Max Move that can directly boost Calyrex-I's stats. Calyrex-I can also choose to run a more defensive set with Leech Seed for recovery and a spread of 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 SpD with a Relaxed nature, which allows it to survive a Behemoth Blade from Zacian-C and KO it in return with Max Quake.

[OVERVIEW]

With almost (straight up this thing is as fat as it gets. I really wanna make that clear) unparalleled bulk and an immense base 165 Attack stat, Calyrex-I is easily one of the most threatening Dynamax attackers in the whole of the metagame. It's base 50 Speed makes it a good offensive Trick Room setter, underspeeding common base 60 Speed Pokemon such as Incineroar and Necrozma-DM. It also has a vast amount of coverage options that are incredibly good in Dynamax while Dynamaxed, with Max Quake and Max Steelspike improving its already exceptional bulk and Max Knuckle boosting its Attack even further. Its ability is also extremely relevant with As One allowing it to snowball even further by boosting its Attack when it inevitably takes a KO. The Unnerve portion is also worth mentioning in the current metagame, as many common Pokemon hold a Berry such as Chople Berry Stakataka and Sitrus Berry Incineroar. Also being a physical attacker means it can be more susceptible to common Intimidate Pokemon such as Incineroar and Hitmontop. (Probably also a line here about being very weak to double targets when Trick Room isn't up, rest is good)

* Glacial Lance is the primary offensive move for Calyrex-I. Being a spread move, it is effectively hitting both opponents with a 97.5 Base Power STAB Ice-type move (Sounds too similar to dex info for my liking. Mention that it can pick up two attack boosts with a double KO). This is extremely effective in dealing with Landorus-T, Groudon and Yveltal.

* High Horsepower allows Calyrex-I to break through problematic Steel-types such as Zacian-C, Solgaleo and Dialga. It also offers it Max Quake as a way to improve its Special Defense when Dynamaxed.

* Heavy Slam and Close Combat are the next best coverage moves for Calyrex-I. Heavy Slam is particularly effective against common Fairy-types such as Xerneas and Grimmsnarl as well as opposing Calyrex-I and also Glastrier (IMO not worth bc Calyrex-I is right there. the carryover should be pretty easily inferred). It also provides Calyrex-I chances to increase its Defense with Max Steelspike when Dynamaxed. Close Combat gives it an effective way to hit Incineroar and Gigantamax Lapras for as much damage as possible, while and it doesn't mind the secondary effect dropping its defensive stats a stage due to its immense bulk. Max Knuckle is also a crucial factor that can allow Calyrex-I to boost its Attack as far as 2 stages with As One.

* Swords Dance is another option for Calyrex-I, as it allows it to immediately be capable of KOing just about any Pokemon in the current metagame with its Attack reaching an insane 476 stat. This is particularly potent with common redirectors such as Amoonguss and Indeedee-F. (With the trimming to the above paragraph this can probably fit there. Content wise, I prefer mentioning Swords Dance as a way to patch up its Intimidate weakness at the cost of an additional coverage move)

* Trick Room allows Calyrex-I to serve as its own form of speed control, (AC) notably underspeeding Incineroar and Lapras.

* Weakness Policy is by far the best item for Calyrex-I, as it immediately allows it to boost its Attack extremely high and to start taking KOs. This can be easily achieved with self-activation methods such as Sucker Punch Grimmsnarl or Bullet Punch Hitmontop. Life Orb offers a consistent damage boosting item at the cost of some recoil, whereas Lum Berry is particularly effective in combatting typical Burn spreaders such as Spectrier and Torkoal. (Probably a mention here about self proc not being required due to how many weaknesses the thing has)
