Can Cresselia use special attacks?

Man, I'm surprised. I was training my Cresselia on the Pokemon League, it's on lvl 51, and when I was battling Bertha, it WASN'T ABLE TO 2KO QUAGSIRE AND GOLEM WITH AN ENERGY BALL!!!!

And a Critical Hit energy Ball did only about 45% on Sudowoodo, A SUPER EFFECTIVE CRITICAL HIT!!!!

After that, I think it's pointless to teach it Energy Ball to hit Pert/Tar/Rhyperior or Ice Beam to hit Chomp, because they'll probably be used with sandstorm which boost theirs Sp.Def, and maybe it'll be only a 3KO on them.

My Cresselia has a neutral nature and no Sp.Atk EVs

So may I have a full wall or should I teach her some special moves?
 
Yeah, I want to use her as a wall, but I tought it could at least 2KO OU thing with IB/Energy Ball, but if she can't 2KO Golem, I will expect a 10KO on Rhyperior
 
Why don't you just teach it Grass Knot instead? It hits all of the mentioned Pokemon harder, unless you're scared of Manaphy.

Grass Knot has 120 BP on Pert/Tar/Perior, doesn't it? And can a Cresselia with no EVs 2KO a Chomp on a sandstorm?
 
Sand Storm is irrelevant as it doesn't reduce damage to Garchomp.

But in answer to your question, yes. Min Special Attack Cresselia does 55% minimum to no defence EV's Garchomp.

I thought Swampert was less than 120.

Maybe your Cresselia has a horrible SpAtk IV.

But yeah, it's mostly used for walling.
 
Hey Spanky, you calculated a 186 Sp.Atk Cresselia against a 0 HP/0 Sp.Def Garchomp, didn't you? But some Chomps (like the subchomp) has some EVs on HP, so I don't think it's a reliable damage.
 
But do you even need to 2HKO? You are immune to Earthquake, and a Jolly Garchomp without using Swords Dance will do a pathetic 23% max to max HP, lots of Defence Cresselia, so still 3HKO's (at best) if you switch into one with a Swords Dance.

Outrage isn't too scary either. Max Attack Adamant Garchomp (with Scarf) will 4HKO (32-38% damage) with Outrage.
 
It's actually possible to OHKO Salamence and Garchomp with Ice beam if Cresselia is maxed Special Attack (Modest) lol.

Or at least... I think it is.. this is assuming Salamence and Garchomp have 0 Sp Def and 0 HP EVs by the way.

Yes, against 4HP/0SpDef Garchomp, you do 75%. If they have 252HP/0SpDef, you do 64%.

Against 4HP/0SpDef Rhyperior, you do 83%, 71% if they have 252HP/0SpDef

43% to 4HP/0SpDef Tyranitar, 36% to 252HP/0SpDef

63% to 4HP/0SpDef Swampert, 53% to 252/0SpDef


I don't think I calculated any of them wrong. All stats are minimum damage by the way
 
How about this set:

Cresselia
Timid, 6 HP / 252 Special Attack / 252 Speed
@Leftovers
Calm Mind
Psychic
Ice Beam
Charge Beam

Great for taking out most threats and Cresselia can Calm Mind longer anyway.
 
The reason Energy Ball did so little against Sudowoodo and Golem, even with a Critical Hit, is because the Sandstorm that was going (thanks to Hippowdon) boosts the Special Defense of Rock-types by 1.5x.
