Chromera
, the Creation Pokemon

Sword: It can make food for itself using paint on its tail. However, it prefers hunting weaker Pokemon.

Shield: Its body can change form, using the paint it makes to cover itself. This paint is highly poisonous to anything else it touches.

Final Submission

Chromera
, the Master Beast Pokémon

Sword: The substance dripping from Chromera's body is prized as an ingredient in vibrant paints. It is also highly toxic, to the dismay of any careless collectors.

Shield: Chromera can change the color of its mane to blend into its surroundings. Depictions of Chromera are often forced to take liberties as a result.

Chromera
, the Master Beast Pokémon

Sword: Chromera is said to seek out only the strongest Pokémon, using fierce and spectacular battles as motivation to create paintings on cliffsides and in caves.

Shield: Lazy by nature, this elusive Pokémon cures its boredom through art. It uses its toxic ink to turn landscapes and enemies into works of art.

Chromera
, the Creation pokemon

Sword: This pokemon uses its toxic paint to coat itself and change its typing. It is heavily inspired by what is going on around it.

Shield: The paint it produces is claimed to be extremely good, and artists worldwide seek it. However, the paint is also highly acidic.

WIP

Chromera
, the Delineated Pokémon

Sword: The paint dripping from its mane is highly toxic. However, when used correctly, it enhances the clarity of drawings made with it tenfold.

Shield: This Pokémon can find the location of anything with its paint on it. Because of this, it is often sought after by the International Police.

Chromera,
the Artistry Pokémon

Sword: Chromera is a masterful hunter, using its camouflage and poisonous traps to confound and devour its prey. Even when it is not hungry, it seemingly hunts for fun.

Shield: It has a centuries old feud with Meloetta over whether music or painting is the superior artform. They regularly compete at creating beautiful artworks, but neither will ever accept defeat.

WIP

Chromera,
the Paint Pokémon

Sword: Chromera is said to stalk its prey by making its paint on its mane blend into the environment, its tail then poisons its prey by biting it.

Sheild: Chromera's special paint in its mane is well known throughout the world because of its ability to change into any color.

WIP

Chromera,
the Matte Pokémon

Sword: Chromera is sometimes said to prowl galleries and museums at night, correcting paintings it deems imperfect and leaving those it approves of intact.

Shield: This Pokémon is believed to be borne of human creativity. Because of this, Chromera is known to train young artists, human and Pokémon, so as to allow more creativity into this world.

WIP

Chromera,
the Abstract Pokémon

Sword: Many have gone mad trying to comprehend the non-Euclidean art seen on Chromera's mane. Those who don't soon perish in a colorful mess.

Shield: To protect itself, Chromera secretes an oily toxin from its brainless tail to produce ecstatic illusions indistinguishable from reality.

The Sword Entry, in contrast to the 'inspirational' entries seen so far, takes a 'You cannot grasp the true form' approach. The Shield Entry takes inspiration from Darkrai, Hydreigon and Zoroark's behavior. Second time's the charm, maybe?

WIP

Chromera
, the Painting Pokémon.

Sword: Chromera is able to create amazing pieces of artwork. However, it will destroy everything around it if it makes a mistake.

Shield: The paint that oozes from Chromera's mane can be used to flavor a dish, but if it is not prepared properly, it is a dangerous poison.

Chromera, the Masterpiece Pokémon

Sword: The first Chromera is believed to have been born 45,000 years ago. This is in line with when humans first created paintings with their hands as stencils.

Shield: It will ruthlessly destroy forged and false artwork. An artist was once arrested for trying to have one destroy a modern art display in Lilycove Museum.

Chromera
, the Limited Paint Pokémon.

Sword: Chromera’s artistic skill is said to surpass even Smeargle. But Chromera can only paint with the paint its body is made from which it can never replenish.

Shield: Chromera steals paintings similar to ones it wants to make and alters them to save its own paint. Anyone that it steals from is blessed with creativity.

Chromera
, the Muse Pokémon

Sword: The inky footsteps left in the wake of Chromera distort the environment into fantastical vistas. It is responsible for the wonders of the natural world.

Shield: Simply beholding Chromera will open your mind to new creative possibilities. However, to close-minded humans it is completely invisible.

The first entry I wanted to include something that could tie into paintings, so I thought it would be cool if chromera is the one that creates beautiful landscapes that inspire artists. The second entry is a reference to artistic interpretation, as well as the invisibility aspect of Color Change. Some people see more in a painting than others based on their interpretation and interest in art, which is why some humans see more of Chromera than it is, and the uninterested literally see less.

Chomera
, the Inspiration Pokémon

Sword: When the universe was born, Chomera was thought to have chosen the colours of the world itself.

Shield: It is said that all works of art came to be because their artists were inspired by the sight of Chomera.

Final Submission

Chromera,
the Abstract Pokémon

Sword: Few people have seen the non-Euclidean art on Chromera's mane, and all have perished in a colorful mess shortly afterward.

Shield: To protect itself, Chromera secretes an oily toxin from its brainless tail to produce ecstatic illusions indistinguishable from reality. Artists worldwide have gone mad trying to replicate these mirages.

Final Submission

Chromera,
the Masterpiece Pokémon

Sword: Many famous art pieces are actually fake, with the originals in Chromera's possession. Still undiscovered, its lair is highly sought by treasure hunters.

Shield: When infiltrating museums, Chromera changes colors to hide among each exhibit. Before escaping, it stores stolen artwork within its viscous body.

Shield: The paint that oozes from Chromera's mane can add flavor to a dish, but if it is not prepared properly, it is a dangerous poison.

Chromera
, the Artisan Pokémon

Sword: It can secrete a special color-changing paint from its mane and tail. The paint is extremely beautiful, but anyone who uses it will become deathly ill.

Shield: It blends perfectly into its surroundings by covering itself in its own paint. Legends say that Chromera was responsible for teaching humans how to paint.

Chromera
, the Painting Pokemon.

Sword: Because of Chromera's ability to change the colors of its mane at will, it can hide itself from sight. A lot of people have never seen it.

Shield: Many people believe Chromera is related to Smeargle, mainly because of their tails. That connection has never been confirmed, though.

Chromera
, the Coloration Pokémon

Sword: Legend states that the colorful mural that adorned the Stow-on-Side cliffs was the work of this Pokémon. The mural’s recent destruction may have angered it.

Shield: It exudes a caustic, oil-based substance from the mouth on its tail. Using secretory glands in its canvas-like mane, Chromera deftly shifts its coloration.

The Sword entry refers to the colorful mural in Stow-on-Side, the town in the Galar region where Bea/Allister is the gym leader. The mural was a notable story element where Bede’s destruction of it in his search for Wishing Stars revealed the historic statues of Zacian and Zamazenta hidden within the cliffside. I thought it would be a fun way to tie Chromera into the SWSH lore. The Shield entry serves as a flavor explanation for color change and how it uses it.

WIP

Chromera
, the Masterpiece Pokémon

Sword: The liquid dripping from Chromera's mane is both paint and poison. Only highly skilled artists are capable of using it and not die in the process from its intoxicating fumes.

Shield: Chromera's real coloration is a mystery, as this Pokémon constantly changes the color of its body at will to confuse its prey and any greedy artists trying to steal its paint.

, the Vanity Pokémon

Sword: It was first seen on the day that a famous painting disappeared from a museum. Rumors say that it came to life because it couldn't stand the other art.

Shield: Chromera is a master of camouflage. It will only show itself to those that it deems capable of fully appreciating its beauty.

Chromera
, the Oil Painting Pokémon

Sword: The oil paint that makes up its body was used in some of the world's most iconic paintings. However, its incredible toxicity cut many artists' lives short.

Shield: The paint on its mane reacts to opponents' attacks, spoiling their strategies. Its gaze is said to either inspire incredible creativity-or sap it away.
