CAP 38 So Far
-----
Hello,
Today we're going to be voting on which stat spread to give to CAP 38. Here are the explanations Gekokeso, our Section Leader for this stage, has provided for each of the options in their final slate.
Perry
Optional Defining Moves: Flamethrower / Fire Blast
Perry's spread is very similar to quite a lot of other spreads that got submitted for similar reasons and with fire coverage, but theirs is the one that I think stands out the most out of all of them. It covers a speed tier higher than Darkrai's, decent mixed bulk so that people can choose which front to invest with, and the coveted 126 spa benchmark that allows it to easily beat stuff like Clef and Hemogoblin while 2hko Darkrai and Kyurem.
spoo
Optional Defining Moves: Mystical Fire
Spoo's spread is one of the few in this slate to break past the 130 speed barrier, which in the case of this spread it is done to be able to outspeed Stratagem and OHKO it with Giga Drain alongside other very important speed benchmarks. The bulk it chose to have is designed around being able to survive various Headlong Rush calcs from Great Tusk and anything weaker than it, optioning for focusing more on physical bulk rather than special bulk.
Rysachi
Optional Defining Moves: Apple Acid, Mystical Fire
Finally, Rysachi's spread is the only one on the slate that includes Apple Acid as well as various other penalties. Its low spa stat compaired to the rest of its competition is made up by the fact that Apple Acid largely wears down various checks to its grass/poison/fire/ground coverage, as well as the fact that it is blazingly fast and thus is able to allow for lots of speed ev flexibility. Its bulk is enough to live a tera ground headlong rush from full health and a Iron Moth fiery dance, both uninvested.
