Hoinestly, while Cartoons' design is interesting and original, to me it just has two many "moving parts" and too weird a design to be remotely pokemonish. Just doesn't appeal to me aesthetically,

I think it's a complete joke, and I know some people are going to take offense to this and bring their vendetta against me for saying that, but seriously.

There are a million pokemon that look JUST like that.

I voted for the oil skater and cartoon's design.

To be entirely honest, there are some really good designs here, but...
Cartoons is really well done.
He put so much effort into designing it, that he even made animations to explain how it walks and attacks, which gives the design so much more depth and quality then a lot of these other designs.

The Oil Skater was a surprise hit for me, it didn't show up until late in the competition, and when I looked at it, I was immediately shocked at how interesting it looked. The artwork is really well done, and even though it's not my first choice, I think that this design deserves to win something.
 
I vote for Elagune, Cartoon, and Zantimonious. I don't really care for the imp. Elagune's and Zant's look nice, while Cartoons is good, and looks like a ultility
 
Voted for Doug's, and just for it. I really think it is the best design out there, and I really, really want it to win. The other designs are also great, but Doug's, in my opinion, surpasses them.
 
I hope people don't think they're too cool to vote Cartoons >_>
I also voted for cerbi01 because I think it can easily explain away all the needed moves even though there's a bit too much ghost in it.

It's a good thing that the CAP process is democratic then, stop trying to bullshit over something a person has worked hard on.

I voted for DJD's and Cartoons'. I really like Cartoon's concept in terms of the fact its multiple limps suggest utility and moves such as Encore, Light Screen, Reflect, Taunt, Rapid Spin etc would fit it well and also Gravity to by the fact that it can go underground. I think DJD's concept is also good as it suggests a fast yet somewhat bulky pokemon that fits into the stat spreads. I would think that if the "mythical" aspect of the pokemon was more pronounced, the utility moves would fit it more flavour wise.

The other submissions were good but did not really catch my attention in the way these two did.
 
Zantimonius- I can predict this having a great sprite. It also has a pretty refreshing color scheme so it gets my vote.
DJD- I really enjoyed reading the backstory on this.
Elagune- Again, will have a great sprite.
 
I have to agree that while Cartoon's is hands down (no pun intended) one of the best designs, it really doesn't feel like it fits into the stats at all. While the gem thingies on its palms can be used as reason for its special-based attacks, the overall design itself looks physically-oriented. I mean, what else are hands used for except punching/slapping/hand signs? Unless you include lame/freaky finger magic.

It was an utter love at first sight for me with the Oil Skater, so I'm voting for that. And it fits well with the stats, and reminds me of a zombified Jynx-Mr Mime hybrid that just went for a buffet. xD

I second Cerbi's opinion, and it is for this reason that I voted for the Smog Imp, the Oil Skater and the Wheel --- other submissions required a lot of stretching for a special attacking stat in my head.

I'm not worried about Cartoon's design being "lost" if it doesn't win, as I understand are the anxieties of many voters --- we did say we'll be having a "gallery" for our art. And I'd rather have something creative ( and I do think the design is very creative, as well as high-quality ) on display and something fitting for actual use than the other way around.
 
I didn't vote for Cartoons!.

You guys are forgetting the emphasized point of the concept.

The only of these Cartoons!' I could see getting is Rapid Spin and Encore.

The Smog Imp (Absolutions) is easily the best fitting of all of these.


That being said, gogogogo, Smog Imp.

My point is do you even believe some eight legged hand spider be associated with special attacks? This guy as a whole doesn't scream utility, blame those super-sized hands for that.

No, I don't. I'll agree that it's a stretch at best, but it's not really my choice. The community wanted special based, the community looks like it wants Cartoons. It does look like a utility pokemon, but not a special attacker. We'll just have to make due.

This was the first thing I noticed when I saw it, but Cartoon's artwork is so good. But I guess that shouldn't mean a thing. It's why I wanted the Shield monster to win.

Creative like Cartoon's design, really fits the utility role, and would make for a fantastic sprite. Too bad it's been already knocked out. :-( But it looks like it's going to be Cartoon's, but there are some real good spriters here, so here's for hoping for the best.

The community actually wanted it physical based based on previous stat poll and that whole "Gravity + EQ = Love" thing, but when no of them made it to the finals they had to make do with Manic's(mostly because higher HP and strong offense).

Now if the stats' offense were physical biased then Cartoons drawing would work perfectly, but since it's a special attacker it falls short on itself. The community seem to be ignoring it's stat allocation and probable movepool options over some hand creature that they believe fits the Utility-role like a glove. Utility isn't a thing, it's a freaking job description within a team. I've been saying this for like ever, it's job is to be a utility first and a special attacker second.
 
How in the hell does Cartoon's design support that 90 Base Sp.Atk? If Cartoons wins, mabye Maniac should just switch that with physical(if he can). Otherwise it would be kinda gimmicky and awkward.
