CAP 5 CAP 5 - Part 7 (Stat Spread Poll 1)

1. X-Act
2. Thydoom

I really like X-Act's spread. Something about it just appeals to me like none of the others. Same goes for Thydoom's, just not quite as much as X-Acts.

For some reason I always think that the person that is first listed in the polls are always the ones that gets the most votes when it comes down to spreads/move sets...

I think maybe trying to put like idk, Gothic Togekiss's first and X-Act's 2nd can balance out the next poll? Maybe I'm wrong but just based on CAP 1-4, it seems that way. No offense to X-Act or anyone else but just a thought.

If I put them through Random.org first will you be happy?

24 Hours left on this.

^ Were the spread already in some semi-random order in the first place? Hopefully, the topic leader isn't trying to influence to vote for a spread/idea he likes the most but posting it first. >_>

It was in the order that they were in on my browser, since I opened them all in tabs and shuffled them around to compare similar spreads. They ended up all mixed.

I figured X-Act's would be popular anyways, so it doesn't seem like first post was that much of an influence. Anyways our (me and GT's) spread seems like it's getting good reception still heh (along with X-Act and Icy Vegeta)

So like I said, semi-random order :P

BTW, it's nice to see ThyDoom getting some attention as well. The man worked hard on his spread, at least be aware of that lol

Well, there are 2 whole pages where there are barely any votes for me. So thanks for trying to undermine my spread.

Also, to those guys that voted only for one submitter or for not bolding their votes, thanks for ruining those votes. Please modify them. :\

To be honest, it's really hard to vote on this without knowing what STAB(s) our Rockmon's gonna get.

Some people, mostly noobs assume it will only get Power Gem, Deck Knight seems to be assuming it will always have Sandstorm and Weather Ball, X-Act seems to be pretty confident we'll be making a new move, I personally will be cheering for Technician and Ancientpower - it's all over the place and drastically affects the SpA required to allow him to sweep but not be overpowered.

Actually, the S.Atk isn't really THAT over the place. I took a look again, and saw that the s.atk was either 115, 120, 125; two had unusual scores of 128 and 130. Is that range really so bad?

Also, I don't think we need to worry too heavily upon its STAB. It's going to be the other moves it gets that enable it to sweep with enough coverage. Why do we tend to use Gengar over Alakazam, even though the latter clearly has more power than the later? Because Gengar can cover a larger range with its movepool than Zam, that's why.

Not to make you look like some kind of fool but you did gain a decent amount of support within the first two pages of this thread. You have lots of support within this thread, same for Icy Vegeta and us. 1059860's statement could have been worded differently to not basically say "X-act is winning because he's first in line >:c" but thats me.

Just assume that our creature is getting Power Gem and maybe AncientPower. It makes life much more easier on yourself.

Hey...I'm one of those noobs that think it will only get Power Gem has it's means of stab D:. You could assume a new move will be coming, but judging on how everyone seem against it, not likely.

I wouldn't worry about what STAB there's gonna be either, we at least know it'll have power gem, even if it gets a better stab seems like a given to me. Also I'd say Alakazam gets used less than gengar for its worse typing and ability (synch. is good but levitate benefits gengar a lot) and for gengars ability to survive/possibly survive weaker unboosted pursuits, such as from LO jolly weavile, and prolly for gengar's better stab too. Gengar just has thunderbolt over kazam even though thats a pretty good bonus. Oh and he has hypnosis and can explode and has destiny bond...
EDIT: And personally I'd love our new friend to just have power gem :P, not that I have the power to decide it though

I like the spreads since they are not going over the top with Special Defence and Speed, and yet are competitively viable.

Good point about the coverage, but that's not gonna be considered for a while as yet - so I didn't mention it in order avoid jumping polls. However the STAB moves Rockmon gets Should affect what stat spread you choose - both X-Act and Deck Knight say they've Assumed it's gonna get something better than Power Gem when setting their SpA.

Deck Knight who has the joint lowest SpA actually said this:

"SpA: 115 was what was left after I finished allocating my desired stats. It's a decent SA number but not too overpowered. However, it relies on either a new rock move or Weather Ball, since Power Gem is mediocre at best."

The sets that have lower SpA stats Do rely on higher Base Power STAB moves than Power Gem becoming part of its move set. Any special sweeper can have 70BP STAB moves due to Hidden Power.

There's a definite difference between 115 and 130 SpA.
