Welp Potatochan beat me up because he's a better player than me, no surprises there. Go Tyrantrums tho!

I had a lot of fun building and theorymonning for this meta during the first week, and given that I'm out I thought I'd post some of my conclusions.

:venomicon-epilogue:
I don't think anyone who even thought about this Pokemon for very long failed to realize how broken it was. 120 Speed, Tinted Lens, 120 base power attacks, boosting, and now an actual attack stat? Good riddance and thanks for the ban.

I definitely thought Venomicon-Epilogue would be the most broken thing here by far, but I'm not sure it was. It definitely was insane in term of how difficult it is to switch into, but I overestimated its longevity and ability to set up past +2 to begin with. Its Speed tier, while excellent, ironically left it open to many offensive threats thanks to how offensively oriented the meta was this first week. I never thought I'd see the day when 120 wasn't more than fast enough, but I do think it's not quite ideal here.

:pyroak:
Contrary is an absurd ability, and anything fast with it is going to be likewise absurd. Hence, Pyroak is super absurd here. Thanks to its bulk, excellent coverage, and good defensive typing Pyroak just sort of breaks everything besides Clefable, and depending on how much Speed you give it can be nearly impossible to revenge kill. The only real flaw I noticed was that its low Special Defense could be exploited on its first turn or two out, as it needs to be boosted to hit hard.

This thing needs a ban, as much as if not more than Venomicon-E did.

:saharaja:
Saharaja
I definitely underestimated how good Saharaja would be. It is an excellent bulky Swords Dance user, with a ton of defensive utility that doesn't get in the way of it being an offensive threat. I didn't try it out myself but it saw a lot of success in the Speed slot. Bluntly I'm not sure how much this was from the extra stats and how much was from Saharaja just being really good, but either way it's a threat.

:stratagem:
I think this was only brought once this week but it was awesome. Physical Technician Stratagem hits really hard with Rock Blast, has STAB ability boosted priority in Accelerock, and good coverage including the capacity to go mixed.

:krilowatt:
This thing was one of my first thoughts when I saw this tour. It has decent speed, an excellent ability, and really appreciates the power boost. But frankly, it's super underwhelming. Tapu Koko is faster, stronger, and has recovery. Saharaja is a very hard check to Krilowatt, and was a very common and very good choice. I don't think it's useless, but it definitely came off as rather limited and outclassed.

:pheromosa:
I think Pheromosa was possibly the best god overall this week, mostly because of how hyper offensively the metagame leaned. I think a Pheromosa team pretty much followed a pretty simple template, and there wasn't much need to deviate besides picking from like, two different options.
Ditto > Tornadus-TherianStratagem / Mimikyu > RevenankhPheromosa / Tapu KokoVenomicon-EPheromosa / Tapu KokoPyroak > Saharaja

I would consider Tapu Koko the most replaceable Pokemon on these teams. When I built using this I used it as a screens setter and it did that fine. If you don't want screens use something else that can do without bulk. The HP slot is pretty open as well, but I don't think anything else fits nearly as well.
Without Venomicon in the meta this gets significantly worse, and you probably need to open it up a bit more in terms of building.

Closing thoughts:
I hate Clefable and Shuckle. Not like they got any better here than in normal Godly Gift, I just hate them.

I'll post the teams I built below. Note that Mr Potato and I were playing with an agreement in place NOT to use Venomicon-E.
I built a lot and most of them were bad, but there are a couple that I think came out pretty well.
:ditto::revenankh::pheromosa::astrolotl::tapu_koko::pyroak: - Pheromosa HO
I replaced Stratagem for Revenankh at the last minute because I was on a Revenankh high. I think it made the team worse overall. Overall I like the team a lot, although it really needs to keep its momentum up. This is basically the Pheromosa template I posted above, except no Venomicon makes it harder to fill the SpA slot. Astrolotl is always excellent though until it leaves a Kyuw with like 1 HP.

I brought this in game one and it won. Nicknames are from lotr :D

:ditto::revenankh::drampa::pyroak::fidgit::calyrex-ice: - Calyrex-Ice Trick Room
I loaded into a Shuckle team with this in game 2, and pretty much instantly lost to Def slot Clefable. Overall I don't think this team was particularly good, more of a matchup fish that failed very very hard. But that's Trick Room for ya. An earlier version of this team had Necrozma-Dawn-Wings as god, but I don't think that would have changed much, given that there was a Tyranitar on the opposing team.

:tapu_bulu::krilowatt::tomohawk::crucibelle::snaelstrom::necrozma-dusk-mane: - Necrozma-Dusk-Mane Balance
I ended up not bringing this because I could never quite get it right. This was definitely not the final version (I think Crucibelle and Krilowatt are supposed to be switched? Or I switched them and didn't change movesets? Idk.) but I feel like there's something to be worked with here. I definitely think Crucibelle has potential as a cool mon, and Tomohawk can just be fat af.

:tornadus-therian::revenankh::rayquaza::tapu_koko::astrolotl::tapu_bulu:- Rayquaza God Offense
I honestly really like this team in theory but it can't break Unaware Shuckle Defense Clefable. I hate that mon. Potatochan you've ruined everything. Astrolotl + Tornadus seems like a really fun core, and Koko adds another pivot for a team with some really nice momentum. I'm sorta leery about Revenankh because it's mostly reliant on Poltergeist to break fatter stuff and Tornadus-Therian likes spamming Knock Off. Bad synergy there. It's an anti-offensive Pokemon on a team that would probably prefer a breaker. Likewise I honestly don't know if that's the best Ray set for the team. This is the last team I brought, for game three.

:snaelstrom::revenankh::yveltal::venomicon-epilogue::kartana::heatran: - Yveltal Balance
This is one of the first teams I built, before we had agreed not to use Venomicon. It loses really hard to opposing Venomicon-E and is overall just too slow. I do think a Heatran + Snaelstrom core has potential, especially now that book has been burnt, but you still lose to Pyroak like with everything else does, and really hard to Saharaja.

:tapu_koko::krilowatt::kyurem-white::venomicon-epilogue::kartana::bisharp: - Kyurem-White Offense
This was a more offensive reboot of the previous team. I think it's better overall, and that this team, while rather lopsided, is decent. It's kind of hard for it not to be with a 170 SpA Venomicon-E behind screens honestly...

Last thing (I swear)
I did usage stats for round 1!
I probably won't do them for any other round but I felt like doing them here.

A brief analysis shows us that:
:clefable: Clefable was overall the most successful Pokemon in terms of number of wins, with 10. Venomicon-E, Saharaja, and Ferrothorn all had 9 wins.
:mewtwo: Mewtwo was the most used god, despite winning only 4 out of 11 matches.
:yveltal: Yveltal was by far the most successful god, with 8 wins. I'm not sure if that's fully twice the amount of second place or not because I'm not going to trawl through Shuckle replays to see who's using it as a god and who's using it as a momentum sink, but either way Yveltal had significantly more wins as Shuckle only had 5 total.
:venomicon-epilogue::saharaja: Venomicon-E and Saharaja are tied both for top overall usage and most wins for a CAP.
:pyroak: Despite the hype over Pyroak and the calls for bans, Pyroak has middling usage and a terrible winrate, with 10 uses and 2 wins.
:ditto: Every single Ditto loss comes from me, which makes it a perfect Pokemon.
:shuckle: Potatochan would like me to point out Shuckle's 100% winrate. Don't fuckle with Shuckle.

Honestly these stats largely conflict with my thoughts from above, which suggests that I may be full of shit. But I've written too much to delete everything now so I'm posting anyway. Enjoy :blobnom:

Miasmaw is looking promising: Neutralizing Gas lets it break Unaware walls, mess with Regenerator mons, and set up on Pyroak (kinda). The sets that look to be the best are Agility (HP/SpD) and Swords Dance (Spe): the former outspeeds Pheromosa after an Agility boost and has an easier time setting up, while the latter is more immediately threatening.

However, our beloved Miasmaw doesn't come without drawbacks. The Agility set struggles somewhat with 4MSS: in addition to Agility and STAB, it wants Earthquake for Steels, Poison Jab for Pyroak and Fairies, and Swords Dance to handle bulkier teams better. The fast Swords Dance set doesn't actually handle Pyroak: LO Pyroak 2HKOs with Overheat, even without contrary. Life Orb sets are worn down quickly by hazards, mandating reliable hazard control, while Boots sets frequently come up short on calcs.

For the bulky Agility set, the Kyurems' 125 base HP and Lunala's 107 base SpD are the minimum for reliably avoiding the 3HKO from LO Pyroak. For the fast Swords Dance set, Pheromosa and Zamazenta-C are the ideal Spe donors, since they let Miasmaw outspeed Mewtwo and Tapu Koko.

252 SpA Life Orb Pyroak Overheat over 3 turns vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Miasmaw: 388-459 (85.4 - 101.1%) -- 6.3% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Pyroak Overheat over 3 turns vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Miasmaw: 320-380 (85.5 - 101.6%) -- 6.3% chance to 3HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Miasmaw Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Tapu Koko: 367-432 (88.2 - 103.8%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
+2 252 Atk Life Orb Miasmaw Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 348-411 (88.3 - 104.3%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Life Orb Miasmaw Leech Life vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mewtwo: 382-452 (108.2 - 128%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Edit: Just found out that this thing Recover, so defensive sets are another possibility.
