Discuss favourite cartoons, share, whatever.

Not anime, there are several other anime threads iirc.

My top two atm -

Superjail (season 1 only)

Adventure Time (holy fuck amazing)

watching now - regular show 'cos TIK and some other dudes said it was good

If humors your thing, dig up Courage the Cowardly Dog/Grim Adventures.

Scifi: Code Lyoko

Action/Adventure: Samurai Jack

Action/Adventure with a plot: Justice Leauge/Avatar

As stated before, Courage and The Grim Adventures were hilarious. But, I'll also raise you Invader Zim. I simply can't stop watching it to this day. :3

Courage was undoubtedly CN's best show with Ed, Edd, n' Eddy in a pretty close second.

Seasons 1, 2, and 3 of Spongebob and the Spongebob Movie could probably be considered the best cartoons ever made in my opinion. So many classics from that period. Of course, Spongebob as of now isn't even a tolerable show.

Edit: Oh yeah Grim Adventures was funny too, though the art for it wasn't really my favorite. I love Craig McCracken and everything he does, so all associated shows (Foster's Home, Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls) are up there for me too.

I'll add in Spongebob (seasons 1-3, not the new bullshit).

Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (as well as associated side series), Avatar the Last Airbender, Ed Edd and Eddy, some Codename: Kids Next Door, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Ben 10 (HATERS GONNA HATE), Rugrats, Hey Arnold, My Life as a Teenage Robot (I remember this being good but I could be wrong I guess), and finally (if it qualifies) Clone High were also good.

Oh and South Park and Simpsons as well.

Also Phineas and Ferb.

Completely agreeing with Nasty, though I'll add in a couple.

Hey Arnold! was a fantastic show that even as the show went on and got a bit worse, it was still better than most else. The first few seasons of The Simpsons are fantastic too. For stuff a little before my time but equally great Looney Toons, Tiny Toons, Ducktales were all amazing and I wish I got to see more of them as a kid.

There's other stuff that's great but I wouldn't put them in the same category as the ones previously mentioned: Rugrats, Scooby Doo, the 90s Animated Spiderman.

Also I watch a lot of super hero cartoons still and the ones that stick out are any of the ones by Bruce Timm/Paul Dini (Batman TAS, Superman TAS, Justice League and JLU), the 90s Spiderman, the recent but cancelled Spectacular Spiderman and Wolverine and the X-Men.

I watch a lot of cartoons, damn.

Futurama, Superjail, American Dad, Spongebob, some episodes of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, and Star Wars the Clone Wars Series (2d and 3d) are some of my favorites.

Edit: FUCK Batman the Brave and the Bold was neat too.

Anyones opinions of Code Lyoko (the bomb up until the last episode...).

Also, if your looking for something somewhat adult, check out Dilbert.

But anime is cartoons, Japanese cartoons. I wonder if the Japanese fan over our cartoons and comics like we do for theirs.

I rarely watch cartoons but when I do, I usually try not to miss Transformers Prime and the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I watch The Simpsons, Futurama and Adventure Time on rare occasions.

As for back then...good times, good times...or was it my lack of awareness...no and the 90's Batman cartoon, Animaniacs and Johnny Bravo are proof of that. Good cartoons nowadays that aren't based off a comic book (or in Transformers' case, a toy line) are hard to come by now a day.

I did set up a cartoon tourney on this other forum I went to but the sites new forums went up 2 weeks after I started so I had to close it up early.

Fairly Oddparents! Invader Zim! Ren and Stimpy! Star Wars Clone Wars (not the 3D crap)! Pink and the Brain! Ahh, my childhood.

I thought this was going to be a troll thread about the user Cartoons!
guess not
...
Batman and Justice League (and Justice League Unlimited, I guess :/) were good.

Oh, and the ORIGINAL Star Wars: the Clone Wars (yes, in 2D) was definitely better than 3D >.>
as in this one

I can't believe no one has mentioned the first few seasons of Pokemon-- it was good up until Ash went to Hoenn imo.

Other than that, there were tons of amazing 90's cartoons: Invader Zim, Aaahh Real Monsters, Rugrats, Doug, Hey Arnold, Kablam!, Fairly Oddparents (first few seasons), Spongebob, and Magic School Bus

Oh, and Avatar: The Last Airbender was also really good.

Samurai Jack has got to be one of the best, if not the. Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy released a video in 2008 (Underfist), that's worth checking out.

Also, Justice League Unlimited/Original all the way.

Fairly Oddparents! Invader Zim! Ren and Stimpy! Star Wars Clone Wars (not the 3D crap)! Pink and the Brain! Ahh, my childhood.
Oh God, I almost forgot about the greatest cartoon ever!

I can't believe no one has mentioned the first few seasons of Pokemon-- it was good up until Ash went to Hoenn imo.
It's an anime, we were clearly not told to talk about anime here.

Other than that, there were tons of amazing 90's cartoons: Invader Zim, Aaahh Real Monsters, Rugrats, Doug, Hey Arnold, Kablam!, Fairly Oddparents (first few seasons), Spongebob, and Magic School Bus
Not from the 90s!

The fact that no one has yet mentioned Tom and Jerry or Popeye amazes me O_o Those two, Spectacular Spider-Man, and Avatar are by FAR my favorites.

Does anyone else think the recent cartoons are a lot worse then the cartoons from 10-15 years ago? I love cartoons, but most of the newer ones are to boring or too weird to keep my attention, the one exception being Phineas and Ferb which is IMO good, but not great.

Futurama before its episodic movies is probably my favorite show of all time. I'm kind of iffy on the Comedy Central episodes. Last week's episode was really bad, but not all of them are.

I've seen almost every episode of King of the Hill more than twice thanks to it running two episodes twice on Adult Swim just about every night. Yet, I still find all the real world problems the characters run into interesting and sometimes hilarious. It's kind of a breath of fresh air compared to all the zany stuff you would run into with other cartoons. It's very hard to find yourself hating the conservative Hank Hill, even if you disagree with him.

Spongebob was great, but the movie and everything after is stale. I don't really watch many shows attentively anymore, so all I can say about newer cartoons like Adventure Time is that I wish the dog character was drawn a bit differently. Regular Show seems great.

I started watching Avatar kind of halfway through the series, but it was definitely good, I just realized it late.

Growing up, I probably watched Nickolodeon more than Cartoon Network, so it's always nice to look back and think about Rugrats, Doug, Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life, and Angry Beavers. That doesn't mean I didn't flip the channel to watch Dexter's Lab and Cow & Chicken, among other shows.

Also, I found myself going to this website a lot my last semester in college, since I didn't have a TV. It streams a lot of 90's and Adult Swim stuff.

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic - Somewhat obtrusive due to the meme, but one of my more favorite cartoons nonetheless. I haven't felt this way about a show originally designed for little kids since The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Faust also worked on Foster's / Powerpuff Girls / The Iron Giant / Kids Next Door, which were all pretty solid.

Batman Beyond
- A futuristic and darker take on Batman. The overall setting has a pretty dystopian feel to it, which I tend to like in fictional books / shows / movies. Episodes are kind of hard to find, but there are non-YouTube sites that have some.

I like family guy, american dad, south park, spongebob, adventure time, chowder, camp lazlo, my gym partners a monkey, fairly oddparents, xiaolin showdown, and i bet a lot of other stuff I can't remember atm

I sleep all day and get up at 9 PM just to watch old reruns of King of the Hill and American dad, but I also enjoy Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Superjail!, Futurama and South Park. I was watching a marathon of Thunder Cats today, I got a little kick out of watching that.

Animaniacs, which later spawned Pinky and the Brain, is one of my all time favorite cartoons. I grew up on the cartoons of the early - mid nineties, so I'm a little biased towards those cartoons. Other favorites include Swat Cats, Two Stupid Dogs, Doug, Hey Arnold!, X-Men, Spider-Man, Bobby's World, Rugrats, and Dexter's Lab.

The first couple seasons of SpongeBob, Futurama, and the Simpsons where their best imo.

Adventure Time is probably my new current favorite, with Phineas and Ferb a close second.
