Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia

as expected from a handheld castlevania, this game is awesome. I haven't gotten far enough to necessarily compare it to other titles yet or anything, but so far, so good. Anybody else pick this up recently?

I've been playing it for a while today. Giant Enemy Crab is hard. :( It's a great game so far.

Well I have been a Castlevania man since the gba days, but I'm waiting till christmas to pick this one up. The reason is because my cousin and I always get castlevania games at the same time, and play them intensely during christmas break.

Still after reading the ign review I am pretty excited that the difficulty level has been uped, this looks to be good, but i'm not sure if it can beat Dawn of Sorrow.

I actually just beat it right now :-/

Personally I still find Aria of Sorrow on GBA to be my favorite. The upped difficulty in this one was appreciated, though the game could have been a little longer (I had about 9 hours playtime with doing quests and getting some stubborn glyphs, etc). One thing I really enjoyed was the music. For the most part, it's all great.

I do have a few nitpicks... I have around 40% of the arm glyphs now, but most of them are just normal weapons that consume MP. At this point, it actually feels like the last two games had a larger variety of abilities. Also, the new stage format is kind of pointless, since most of the levels are too short and bland to stand on their own.

Otherwise, it's everything I'd except from a new portable Castlevania game, which means it's quite fun.

I'd personally rank it as the middlechild of the DS CVs. It's certainly more challenging, but it's an artificial challenge due to Shanoa's significantly weaker attack/defense and inflated enemy HP. All in all though, it's a great way to end the DS trilogy.

its pretty fun, like all castlevania games. ive only been using the dual rapiers as my weapons tho, dont like the others (ive got sword, axe, mace, dagger, couple other stupid things). im at the crab atm and hes a pretty cool boss good level design with him.

I liked this game more than all previous, don't know why. Maybe cause it has a little different style of battling, glyphs and all..

I'm about half done, and holy shit it's hard. I'm new to castlevania, and have only played the DS games. This one is much more difficult, which is appreciated. I found the others far too easy, Dawn of Sorrow in particular, once you get the master class sword it's all over.
