Hey,
This is my first post on this forum.
A group of guys in my class (ranging from jocks to orch dorks) has set up a Pokémon play group. Being the awesome guy that I am thought it would be appropriate to come up with a team to creatively troll (and more importantly, dominate) the rest of the school so that I can set up my rightful place as the king of Pokémon :nerd:.
Anyway: My idea is to find the most seemingly pathetic pokemon as far as outward appearances go(no legendaries and strictly 5th gen (house rules)) and troll using very irksome move sets. However, we use an OU type format. Please help me come up with better substitutes if possible (but the Whimsicott has to stay, for real bro).
In no specific order:
Whimsicott: Prankster w/Leftovers; Bold (252 HP/252 Def/4 SpD)
Toxic
Substitute
Giga Drain
Leech Seed
(My SubSeed Set. Start with substitute, then move on to leech seed, then toxic and giga drain. Leftovers and leech seed combined with giga drain subsidize the substitutes as well as potential damage.)
Garbodor: Aftermath w/Black Sludge; Impish (252 HP/252 Def/4 SpD)
Toxic Spikes
Spikes
Gunk Shot
Payback
(I think that this is more of a lead Pokémon due to the Toxic Spikes and Spikes set up. Gunk Shot for STAB and Payback to take advantage of lower speed traits)
Archeops (not really pathetic looking, but whatever): Defeatist w/Flying Gem; Jolly (252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe)
Acrobatics
Stone Edge
Earthquake
U-Turn
(The flying gem combos with the acrobatics for a whole world of hurt. Stone Edge is for the stab move. Earthquake is just a solid move to have all around. U-Turn acts as a scouting mechanism)
Vanilluxe: Ice Body w/Leftovers; Timid (24 HP/232 SpA/252 Spe)
Substitute
Hail
Toxic/Ice Beam/Blizzard
Protect
(Vanilluxe can hide behind its substitute as it pumps out hail and protect, dealing passive damage. All the while, it heals with Ice body and leftovers. As for the issue of the third slot, I am not sure what to do.)
Durant: Hustle w/Life Orb; Jolly (8 HP/252 Atk/248 Spe)
Iron Head
Superpower
Thunder Fang
Hone Claws
(I didn't really know what to do with this one. Hone Claws boosts attack in conjunction with the life orb. Iron head works with stab and I thought the possible flinch would be beneficial. Superpower is a post Hone Claws attack in order to utilize the upped attack. Thunder Fang adds diversity to the move set while possibly causing paralysis.)
Jellicent (Gotta Respect the 'Stache, yo): Water Absorb w/Leftovers; Calm (252 HP/36 Def/220 SpD)
Scald
Recover
Toxic
Shadow Ball
(Scald scares schoolkids. It works better since stab comes into play while potentially burning the opponent. Recover is a good move to have due to its healing effect. Toxic deals major passive damage. Shadow Ball is just spectacular, the type boost and the potential stat lowering both confirm it in the set.)
I want to say, minus the two sweepers that I have, this team functions under a stall archetype. I realize that many of my Pokémon are not in the OU Tier but this group is a learning league within my school. We are currently experimenting with off path tactics in order to be able to find more creative mainstream move sets (as cheesy as it sounds).
I have to keep the Whimsicott as it is (unless there is a better SubSeed combo that is fit for casual battles) because it is my, so to speak, signature Pokémon.
If there is any way to make a more balanced team that could potentially make the Whimsicott an Uber Troll, please feel free to suggest them. The idea of the team,as stated earlier, is to troll the opponent with pathetic or flimsy looking Pokémon.
For example, a trash talking dialogue might occur such as (with Whimsicott out), "Sir, I seemed to have swabbed the deck with you."
Furthermore, if you could suggest any witty puns relating to any Pokémon you might suggest or move sets or anything else related to this post, feel free to include them.
Thanks for your help.
P.S. I would like to clarify that while it may not be explicitly competitive, the playgroup functions as a learning league for my school for those wishing to get into competitive battling.
Perhaps a better question would be what move sets can synergize with the current SubSeeder Whimsicott.
