Celebi's decent mixed bulk combined with its Grass typing allows it to take on various threats such as Azumarill, Excadrill, and Tapu Koko lacking U-turn for Psychic-type teams. It has an expansive support movepool, providing its team with utility moves such as Stealth Rock and U-turn, and can act as an effective defensive pivot in the Fairy match up, able to switch into various threats such as Mega Diancie, Tapu Bulu, and the aforementioned Tapu Koko. Recover allows it to consistently check such threats throughout the battle while U-turn lets it gain momentum for the team. It can even utilize Healing Wish support over U-turn for teammates such as Mega Gallade and Mega Slowbro. Victini is a great teammate as it can take care of Bug- and Steel-types for Celebi. Choice Band Metagross also appreciates U-turn support and Celebi's ability to threaten Water- and Ground-types such as Rotom-W and Hippowdon. They both form a good core against Fairy-type teams.
