Premise: The first letter of each of your team members spell out a word that activates an effect for your team. Additionally, the first letter of each move in a Pokemon's moveset also activates an effect for that Pokemon.

Base Format: Gen 9 National Dex OU

Battle Format Rules:
  • Team Cheat Codes:
    • Team Cheat Codes are active and always announced starting from the beginning of Turn 1, before any other effect takes place.
    • Team members must be in the correct order.
    • Cheat Codes only take species name into account. Form names (-Hisui, -Incarnate, -Wash, -Busted, etc.) are not taken into account.
    • If a Cheat Code is less than 6 letters long, your team cannot have extra members outside the ones that spell out the Code.
  • Moveset Cheat Codes:
    • Moveset Cheat Codes are active and announced on switch-in, before any other effect takes place that turn.
    • Moves must be in the correct order.
    • If a Cheat Code is less than 4 letters long, your Pokemon cannot have extra moves outside the ones that spell out the Code.
  • If two Cheat Codes were to activate at the same time, the player with the fastest active Pokemon on the field has priority.

Submission Rules:
  • Team Cheat Codes:
    • Can be 1-6 letters long.
  • Moveset Cheat Codes:
    • Can be 1-4 letters long.
  • General Rules:
    • May only be words from the English Dictionary, or commonly known words/abbreviations.
Look, I'm not a linguistics expert and I don't wanna judge what is or isn't English, but I also want to make sure the codes are as intuitive to remember/understand for anyone to the greatest extent we can.

So what would not be acceptable as a code would be:
  • Names (ex. ROBERT, LEBRON, EIFFEL)
Exceptions to the categories above include,
  • Names of Pokemon - I hope everyone can recognize Pokemon names if you are playing a Pokemon Showdown metagame.
  • May only use letters, as no Pokemon or moves start with a number or special character.
  • Effect can be anything except
    • Creation of new Pokemon, moves, abilities, etc.
    • Creation of new move flags
    • Creation of new variables (no Fishing Tokens)
    • Creation of new field effects/weathers/terrains
    • Anything I deem unbalanced or uncompetitive
  • Goes without saying, but follow Smogon Guidelines. No slurs or other inappropriate language.
Team Cheat Code: CHEATS
Effect: This team has x1.3 accuracy and doubled critical hit chance.
Justification: Good for Hydro Pumps/Stone Edges/any crit move.

:corviknight::heatran::excadrill::amoonguss::tyranitar-mega::samurott-hisui:

Insta-Win!

Meta won't be fun unless we have like a million cheat codes to start off with. Therefore, this slate, there will be no voting, and everyone who submits to this slate will win! I will be heavily vetting subs to ensure balance though, so don't get too crazy.

Everyone may sub a maximum of ONE team cheat code and ONE moveset cheat code. I will probably increase this limit in the future with voting, but for one each seems fine for now.

You have a week (10/10). Have fun!

Team Cheat Code: QUETTA
Effect: All of your pokemon lose their held item, in exchange, all of your pokemon gain +20 in all of their stats (except HP) and are allowed to terastalize.
Justification: Quetta is "the largest data measurement unit in the International System of Units", (Which contains Mega, Giga and Tera.) And also has hard letters to work with.

Moveset Cheat Code: LETS
Effect: This Pokemon gains the Levitate ability.
Justification: Flying is a common cheat code in games... Short for levitates, or "lets fly!".

Team Cheat Code: MARTYR
Effect: Your team has Supreme Overlord instead of their current abilities
Justification: Very simple, very effective

Moveset Cheat Code: WAXY
Effect: At the end of every turn, this Pokemon uses Wish.
Justification: Slaking, Leafeon, and Beartic are the only mons that this works for as far as I’m aware, so they could maybe have some sauce. As for why this name works, uh, wax on wax off or something

Team Cheat Code: NOCLIP
Effect: nullifies the effect of terrain (similar to cloud nine). all pokemon on both teams gain an immunity to hazards, and all moves bypass screens and substitutes.
Justification: very classic cheat code that absolutely needs to get included somewhere. the noclip cheat in most games causes you to not collide with the terrain and other objects, so NOCLIP causes you to not collide with the terrain (terrain, screens) and other objects (substitutes and hazards). because the terrain immunity on its own is boring and the hazard immunity on its own is nuts, I think it's fun to make NOCLIP affect both sides equally. you get the obvious advantage of not needing removal for rock weak mons like charizard and pinsir, and getting a nice anti-cheese buffer from the webs/screens immunity. in exchange, you also can't use hazards yourself, and as ninetales-alola is a dead slot when your opponent ignores screens you are somewhat held back by the lackluster N pokemon.
Example teams:
:nidoking::ogerpon-cornerstone::charizard-mega-y::landorus-therian::iron valiant::primarina:
:necrozma::ogerpon-wellspring::celesteela::landorus-therian::iron moth::pinsir-mega:

Moveset Cheat Code: GOLD
Effect: this pokemon's ability becomes good as gold.
Justification: really powerful effect at first glance, though the overlap between G and O is somewhat limiting and often requires giga impact + outrage. still, there are some quite decent picks for mons here.

Team cheat code: Fluffy
Effect: All your Pokemon will gain Fluffy ability on top of their normal one.
Justification: This looks like a broken effect. However, look at the word. 3 Fs, an L, an U and a Y. In F, Ferrothorn and Fezandipiti are the only good Mons, after that you have to use between Flygon, Flareon, Froslass, Frosmoth, Falinks, etc. With Fluffy all of those naturally get better, but you are still limited. L is a good letter, you get Lando, Latis, Lokix and Mega Lopunny to choose from. U is decent, but very limited: Ursaluna, Uxie, Urshifu, Umbreon. Finally, Y: you either use Eviolite Yamask (who now has better bulk) or the quad Rocks weak Yanmega. You can definetely do a good team with all this, but it will not be easy, especially if we consider Fluffy doesn,t protect from non-contact moves like EQ and makes you weaker to Fire (unless you use Flash Fire Flareon).

Moveset cheat code: Fast.
Effect: You win every Speed-Tie.
Justification: Very situational, but useful on suicide leads (Stealth Rock, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Sticky Web and Taunt are all valid moves here, though not at the same time) and Mons with common Speed Tiers.

Team Cheat Code: CRASH
Effect: 2 Pokemon on the opposing side will be randomly assigned Truant as an abilty
The first pokemon sent out by the opponent has Slow Start in addition to their original ability
Justification: Causing the opposing pokemon to 'crash'

Moveset Cheat Code: SWAP
Effect: Trick Room is active while the pokemon is on the field
Justification: You swap the dimensions, here are some usable sets https://pokepast.es/4eea499356e3be37, i dont think it will be too op except maybe heracross or hands

Team Cheat Code: BUGSY
Effect: This team’s Bug-type moves has an inversed offense type effectiveness, and the team’s Bug-type Pokémon has their defense type effectiveness inverted.
Justification: Based on the Gym Leader of the same name, Bugsy.
Potential Impact: Despite Yanmega beong the only non-Legendary fully evolved Pokémon that starts with Y, it will benefit greatly from not having to run Heavy-Duty Boots. Bug-type being able to hit Flying, Fairy, Poison, Ghost, Fighting, Steel and Fire makes it moves a lot scarier, though Scizor does not take advantage much due to being the worst defensive type by a long shot in Inverse Battle.

Moveset Cheat Code: WHAT
Effect: This Pokémon does not recharge from moves like Hyper Beam and Giga Impact, and uses their highest Attack or Special Attack for all their damaging moves.
Justification: Clearly meant to be confusing with how could a Pokémon skip a recharge effect and using their highest attacking stat all the time. Kept in check by Normal-type being mediocre if running Hyper Beam and / or Thrash.
Examples: Glaceon with Wish / Weather Ball, Hyper Beam, Alluring Voice and Triple Axel; Dondozo with Waterfall, Hydro Pump / Hyper Beam, Avalanche and Thrash; Snorlax with Wild Charge, Hyper Beam, Amnesia and Thunderbolt / Thunder.
Potential Impact: Encourage use of Choice Band / Choice Specs depending on higher Attack or Special Attack respectively, and brings back Hyper Beam to it’s former glory and then some. Opens up “mixed” attacking in an unorthodox way.

Moveset Cheat Code: RETURN
Effect: After three of your Pokemon faint, the next Pokemon that switches in uses Revival Blessing.
Justification: Subbed for Concept

Moveset Cheat Code: CHIP
Effect: Hitting the opponent with an attacking move makes them lose an additional 1/16th of their max HP. Multi-hit moves would only activate this once.
Justification: Maybe I could boost it to 1/10th? It's an offensively-focused cheat that can help slow passive recovery and potentially net some 2HKOs easier.
Slowking-Galar @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Chilly Reception
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Psychic Noise

Mew @ Life Orb

- Ice Spinner
- Play Rough

Team Cheat Code: ESPEON
Effect: All of your pokemon gain the Psychic type in addition to any other typings when they switch in, and get Synchronize in addition to whatever ability they already have.
Justification: Turn everything into an Espeon because it's funny.

Moveset Cheat Code: FISH
Effect: Adds the Water typing to you. This overrides any other type changes caused by team cheat code if they would cause the pokemon to have 4 types
Justification: Y O U K N O W W H A T T H A T M E A N S

Team Cheat Code: BOUNTY
Effect: Whenever a Pokemon on this team knocks out an opposing Pokemon, boost their highest stat by 1 stage.
Justification: An offensively oriented code that has access to incredibly strong options like the Tapus, Ogerpon-Wellspring, and Urshifu Rapid-Strike, but is also forced to use a relatively mediocre at best B Pokemon and HAS to use Yanmega (i sincerely doubt yamask is going to cut it). Might prove a tad overbearing but also has massive weak spots.

Moveset Cheat Code: SIPS
Effect: This Pokemon gains a Water immunity.
Justification: For all of your very thirsty Pokemon. A very strong immunity but most Pokemon would be forced into awkward moves to obtain it.

Team Cheat Code: SPIKES
Effect: Sets 1 layer of Spikes on the opponent's field at the start of the battle.
Justification: Yep. Gives some early game momentum for HO teams. I decided to make it only 1 layer bc you can enable the code with already good mons, e.g. Iron valiant, kingambit, hamurott

Moveset Cheat Code: DEBT
Effect: Replaces the user's ability with Neutralizing Gas.
Justification: idk ngas gaming is cool. U still have access to some good moves like encore, toxic, defog, earthquake, etc. but there is the secondary drawback of losing ur original ability which might not be worth it. U can also run it on slaking/regigigas if you're feeling unoriginal

Team Cheat Code: I
Effect: your opponent cant switch and is forced to send out mons in team order
Justification: I felt like there should be a 1 letter team code and this is the only one i could think of, idt any mon is good enough to make this work especially if people prep their team order for it but all the future paradoxes can do it so thats neat
Moveset Cheat Code: TERA
Effect: This Pokemon can terastalize
Justification: Tera is a cool mechanic, also the t can be tera blast so thats neat

Moveset Cheat Code: GENE
Effect: If item slot is empty on switch-in: +2 Attack & become Confused.
Justification: berserk gene incident is the funniest most cheat codey bullshit that has ever happened in this game and I want it here. could be a once-per-battle effect but none of the sets this enables seem that crazy to me? so I guess this is an infinite berserk genes cheat

- BLOCK -
Your team is immune to the 4 targeted pivoting moves [U-turn, Volt Switch, Flip Turn, Parting Shot]

“BLOCK!” - Terry Crews

- TRUE -
This Pokemon’s normal moves match it’s Primary type.

U-turn is rarely paired with rapid spin, apparently, so i jumped at the opportunity to buff some overshadowed spinners.

Tsareena @ Heavy Duty Boots / Assault Vest
Ability: Queenly Majesty
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Trop Kick
- Rapid Spin
- U-turn
- Endeavor

Grass-Type Rapid Spin :)

Quaquaval @ Leftovers
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Rapid Spin
- U-turn / Upper Hand
- Taunt / Take Down
- Encore

This one’s interesting. You get water type spin, a really strong type to clear hazards, but you give up your really strong stab options for either Utility (U-turn, Taunt), or for Upper Hand and Take Down. (Though Take Down would have the cheat applied to it, at least)

Im sure theres a solid return user out there but I haven’t found one so far

Reason for Code: True… (I just wanted R and U in there and couldn’t think of anything else)

Moveset Cheat Code: OKAY
Effect: All attacks targeting or used by this Pokémon are neutrally effective.
Justification: Not terrible, not great, just okay.

Team Cheat Code: WIZARD
Effect: All Pokémon on the team gain Magic Coat, Magic Powder, and Magic Room as a fifth, sixth, and seventh move.
Justification: Whoa oh oh it's magic! Powder gives you a strategy to exploit with Ghost, Dark, and Bug attacks. Coat and Room are both useful tech moves that you probably wouldn't use a slot on, so getting them as a bonus opens up room for shenanigans.

Team Cheat Code: ABLAZE
Effect: The power of STAB moves used by the Pokemon on this team are boosted by 1.5x when that Pokémon's HP is below 1/3.
Justification: I am putting myself in your pet mod. Good but somewhat minor effect that you can build pretty naturally good teams with since A, B, and L all give good stuff, Z gives you Zamazenta, and E isn't the worst with Excadrill, Enamorus, or, like, Eelektross I guess.

Move Cheat Code: LIFE
Effect: This Pokemon heals 12.5% of its max HP after using an attacking move.
Justification: JolteMons Shell Bell as a defensive cheat code because I don't know how many of those we'll get.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 220 SpD / 40 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Lava Plume
- Iron Defense
- Flash Cannon

Team code: MIRROR
Effect:
Every time the opposing Pokemon uses an attacking move, block and reflect a percentage of it. Good luck finding three R mons for this.
Note: percentage will be fixed in-battle, but I can imagine this could get wildly unbalanced, so I'm not hard baking a value into it. Probably something like 15 or 20 to start, as it's effective at both reduction and extra chip.
Justification: I can imagine a lot of damage will be passed around in strong codes, so one that punishes you for dealing a lot of damage (over-KOing by a lot, the opposite of Innards Out) will be a good demotivator.

Team code: SCREEN
Effect
: When a Pokemon switches in, if its highest stat is Defense, it will summon Reflect, and Light Screen if SpD is the highest stat. If HP is the highest stat, it will use Aurora Veil. These screens cannot be extended by Light Clay.
Justification: Screens are a big part of Screens HO and Balance, and having a method of getting them up more often, without needing the move, is a huge momentum gain for your team.

Moveset code: STAB
Effect:
This Pokemon gains 1.8x AB on STAB moves, and 1.3x AB on non-STAB moves.
Justification: Not quite as strong as Adaptability or Tera Stellar, but still a great damage boost for offensive mons.

Team Cheat Code: RUBBER
Effect: Team is immune to Electric type moves; On switch-in, this Pokemon blocks certain status moves and instead uses the move against the original user.
Justification: Rubber is a great insulator for Electricity. Also bounces back stuff with elasticity.

Move Cheat Code: LUCK
Effect: All moves used by this Pokémon will land critical hits and get a 30% accuracy boost.
Justification: Luck is the greatest aspect of Pokémon. This cheat will get you sorted.

Automatic win, eh? Well_*%!*%!*%!(%!(*%: CONNECTION TERMINATED. WELCOME TO MY GAME NOW.
View attachment 867517
Team Cheat Code: HACKER
Effect: Turns the sixth Pokémon in your party (AKA the Pokémon in the R part of the code) into the Hacker, the gentleman shown above. The Hacker is typeless, and has a BST of ?/110/95/110/95/90. It's old ability becomes THE HACK. (THE HACK: The Hacker is treated as every type, even though it is typeless: For example, it is immune to Sandstorm and has it's Special Defence boosted in it, and Toxic used by it never misses. However, it cannot gain STAB) The Hacker keeps the moves and the HP of the Pokémon it used to be.
Justification: At the cost of an awkard team composition, the HACKER can turn a weak Pokémon into a strong one and utilize type synergies it has never seen before, at the cost of STAB. A team consisting of a Hatterene, an Alomoloma, a Cerluledge, a Kingambit, and an Enamorous can easily meet the HACKE requirements, while good targets for the R include Pokémon that are held back by low speed, such as Rhyperior.
View attachment 867520
Moveset Cheat Code: FRLG
Effect: Turns all four of the user's moves into Abyss, a Special Water-type move with 1 PP and +6 Priority that deals a fixed amount of damage to the target equal to the different between the user's level and the target's *3. (If a level 1 Pokémon uses this on a Level 100 Pokémon, for example, the move deals 297 damage)
Justification: THERE IS A NEW ROCK BY THE WATER. (A Hisuian Arcanine can meet the requirements easily with Flamethrower/Raging Fury/Leer/Giga Impact)
Okay I guess I didn’t say it in the rules but no new Pokemon or moves either.

Team Cheat Code: Absent
Effect: This code gives each pokemon on the team unaware on top of their original abilitys(or replaces it with unaware, depending on coding restraints or balance sake)
Justification: Absentmindedness essencially means "unaware of your surroundings"
Moveset Cheat Code: HEAL
Effect: This Pokemon uses heal bell when it switches in
Justification: The concept is to have cleric support assuming you have the proper moveset
