Hello, and welcome to the second edition of the Challenge Cup Cup, the premier Challenge Cup team tournament on Pokemon Showdown! After all the excitement and high stakes of the Random Battles Team Tournament, we're here to continue the fun with new teams and a whole lot of Challenge Cup! In this new iteration of CCC, we've expanded from 6 teams to 8 teams! Teams this year will consist of 12 players competing in 9 slots of varying Challenge Cup formats, however we like to reserve the right to modify this slightly based on signups.
Formats:
This year, thanks to some of our lovely PS developers, we're pleased to introduce 6v6 Gen 8 Challenge Cup to the fold! Not only that, but we've heard requests for modded formats and have taken RBTT's lead in our addition of the Mystery Box! Number of games to be played per format are listed before each format in "BO#" notation.
The 9 slots to be played in CCC2 are:
BO7 Gen 8 Challenge Cup 1v1
BO5 Gen 8 Challenge Cup 1v1
BO5 Gen 8 Challenge Cup 1v1
BO5 Gen 8 Challenge Cup 2v2
BO5 Gen 8 Challenge Cup 2v2
BO3 Gen 8 Challenge Cup (6v6)
BO3 Gen 8 Challenge Cup (6v6)
BO3 Gen 1 Challenge Cup (6v6)
Varies Mystery Box
Mystery Box format will be selected at random for each week from the following list: Camomons CC1v1, Inverse CC1v1, Scalemons CC1v1, Camomons CC2v2, Inverse CC2v2, Scalemons CC2v2, Dynamax CC2v2, Camomons CC, Inverse CC, Shared Power CC, Inverse G1CC. 1v1 and 2v2 formats will be played BO5, the 6v6 formats will be played BO3. Once a format appears in Mystery Box it may not appear again, however there are 9 weeks in the tournament and 10 listed Mystery Box formats, thus one of these will not be used.

We ask that with regards to Mystery Box formats you either sign up for all of them or specify which subcategory you're interested in (i.e. Mystery Box CC1v1, Mysterybox Challenge Cup, etc.). We ask that you also include your Discord ID (in the form of Username#XXXX) so that we may locate you on the CCC Discord server (linked at the bottom of this post). This is where teams will be doing most of their organization, so we highly encourage all participants to join!
As mentioned earlier, we have 8 teams this year! We're happy to say that nearly all of last year's managers have returned, however some with a little rebranding!
